Putting together set 6229 3-British Redcoat Soldiers
« on: May 14, 2015, 03:54:30 »
When the first sets came in, I had a difficult time getting the collars on with my 70 year old fingers.  Now after assembling 72 with my 71 year old fingers I have worked out a system.

First, I open the bag and set out the 3 klickeys and put the 3 collars and sword straps aside in a small tray.  I set the other bag with more accessories aside.

Taking one of the soldiers in my right hand holding the figure face down, I laid the collar on the figure's back, I put my right thumb-nail in the opening of the collar and the first finger-nail of the first finger on my left hand while holding it in place with my left thumb.  As I pried the sides apart I push up with my left thumb and it pops right on.

Next, I turn the figure over and raising the left arm I slide the sword strap over the arm and head and then lower the arm.

Now I opened the small bag and set the three tricornes, bayonets and swords aside.  I then place the three bayonets on the end of the musket (the blade of the bayonet rests under the musket so that the soldier can aim it.).  Moving one arm up at a time, I pop on the cuffs on top of it's wrist and slide it around to pop in place. Then it is just a matter of putting the Tricorne on the klicky's head and adding the plume.

I store my soldiers in plastic tackle boxes - 24 figures each.  The muskets and swords are under the figures.

And there it is...
