6648 review Orang Utan
« on: February 18, 2015, 11:32:49 »
Hi there! Here is my review for the 6648 Orang Utan family. Did you know that the name means "Man of the Forest"? It comes from the Malaysian words Orang (=man) and Hutan (=forest).

Pic 1: The family. Male, female and child. The male is new. In my opinion are the sets too expensive, I paid 10,99 Euro
          for three little apes.
Pic 2: As you can see, the male's arms and legs are different from the female, a little thicker and more hairy.
Pic 3: Also, he has a different torso
Pic 4: They cannot twist their heads but lift them, if you have to choose, this is the best option for an animal which can
move on two or four legs (arms)

Pic 5: A bit silly of me, but when I compared them with the 6200 add- on, I noticed that the female has a different coloured
face! Why? And the baby too!
Pic 6: One happy family. The grey faced female could be a young male....  I still don't get it.
Pic 7: The male is a beautiful ape. Maybe he is a little bit too small in comparison to a female or a human. In real life he be
80 kilograms and 100 cm long. The biggest they've ever found was 180 cm! But, to be honest, I also compare him to
the Gorilla, which is too big in comparison.

Well, that's it. Hope you liked this review and find it helpfull.

Regards

Oh no, I totally didn't realize they had a different face than the previous orang utans...

I was thinking of getting the set just for the male. But now that would mean that my other orang utans would have to be evicted. She's a single mom, I can't do that to her  :)

Thanks a lot for the review, it was helpful!

Thanks for the review. I think it's sort of cool that there are two different faces. :)

Thanks for the review and the up close pictures! Can't believe you didn't notice the face was a different color, though. :P I think they changed it because the gray is a more realistic color... they seem to be going toward more realistic colors with the latest animals, like the lions, crocs, and flamingos. I'm surprised the new chimps aren't black. But I think the old brown face on the orang is cuter, personally.

Thanks for the review. I also prefer the lighter face even though it's less realistic. I think the grey isn't quite right.

Great looking new animals and beautiful pictures and review. The grey face looks like they are covered in soot and the tan face looks very human. Looking forward to adding them to our batch.

Nice bit of unexpected variety with the different face colours I like both but, I think the lighter colour does look particularly good that being said I think the grey does particularly suit the males face. They look like  quite a nice happy family and that photo of the male looking up at the tree's great  :)
