Cool Nativity set  and mini Natvity set plus a Devil in the background  >:D. Lets be honest its not just the Nativity which doesn't make a lot of sense Chirstianity was never something which particularly exicted me being Jewish but, it's interesting hearing this discussion we were also taught the 3 Wise Men followed a star to find the baby Jesus

What's that devil doing there?  ???

I try to add a little twist to my nativity each year. This year it's devilboy (a recent purchase), undoubtedly already planning his temptations in the desert. Last year it was...

A smattering of Roman soldiers would be nice, too.

...a Roman soldier in the woodpile, and the year before: a pope offering Mary a two hundred euro note (don't ask). But I also like to keep the main display pretty traditional, with a few extra sheep and mice and things. And my Magi are far to the right, they are moving closer in order to arrive on Epiphany, as they are meant to! (For more on the Magi, here's TS Eliot's take: http://allpoetry.com/The-Journey-Of-The-Magi )

Interesting thing, the Nativitity display. Did you know it was invented by St. Francis of Assisi?

It was my hunger for Roman civvies that got me into the nativity sets, but I came to enjoy it for what it is and I look forward to putting it out every year. Nevertheless I hotly anticipate the arrival of Version 3 on our shores, so as to fill out my Colosseum seats!
