Bearded Lady!
« on: May 30, 2014, 23:55:52 »
So the series 6 fi?ures has a fairy that when I saw a big picture of her outfit, the first thing I thought of was late victorian/early edwardian circus performer. So I had a little fun with her in those regards and created something I doubt we'll ever see from Playmobil: a bearded lady. I took off the wings and harp (let me know if you want them), and I switched out her hair for something that works more for that period. So here's a breakdown: The beard is from the free gift set 6311 of the BBQ chef with the lanterns. I have about a million of them now (and by million I mean five), the hair is from the 5476 swan boat, which literally arrived at my door five minutes ago, and the hair accessory is an extra one that came with my Persian man from the same fi?ures series. Overall the whole deal is pretty easy. It didn't involve any painting or stickers or manipulation, but I feel the end result is quite effective. What do you think?

You've certainly lived up to your name there!  A very neat and clever custom and thank you for the details on the sources of the parts.

Would you show some more pictures of her for us when you have the chance, please?

Yes, I noticed that.  It's very Victorian fairground with the curly moustaches.  Quite superb.

That is very well done, and if you hadn't described how you had created the Bearded Lady, I would have assumed that it was the result of weeks of painstaking work.

Nice custom! I'm really glad they put the wings on a neck piece, so she is easy to convert. I also thought she would make a good Victorian circus performer. I think I'll skip the beard though, lol.
