Train suggestions
« on: November 07, 2014, 12:56:30 »
Although the range of Playmobil trains isn't as large as it used to be, I would still like to make a few suggestions:

— Unimog utility truck for use on road and rail (besides: the Unimog truck is used for many other duties, and could be an ideal platform for Playmobil City or the Playmobil Fire Department).

— A modern light rail train. In many countries it already saved a lot of railway lines, or new lines are made for them!

— And a suggestion for the Wild West theme:

I like the first two suggestions very much, Marco. And of course, the Unimog could be one model, for fire and train.

Here's a link to a custom Dickie-based version:

and here's a link to a real one (you need to scroll down a bit):

Beside that, the Unimog is also used as ambulance, on farms, at building companies and so on. The risk for Playmobil is very low if they developed an Unimog.

I think a modern light train would suite the Playmobil City theme very well. But it must be a better version than the previous one that they delivered.

My last suggestion is really a gamble.

Playmobil did make a unimog like vehicle. It is as close as they could get with out paying MBZ

It was that orange snow plow, add train wheel mechanism and there you go.
If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

That was the latest version.  They also made an earlier version both as a circus lorry and as a construction version, oh, and the refuelling tanler from the airport range was based on the Unimog.
