Tell me more about these older klickys
« on: March 07, 2014, 00:50:24 »
Tell me more about these older klicky's, I got them in a mixed lot buy from the US with part of the old surgery set. I dont know a whole lot about the older figures.

This guy in particular, he has this cape and it looks like a star on his torso? He has '1974' on this foot.

Also these guys:

All the adults are stamped with '1974'. All the children are dated '1981'.

Do the dates mean they were actually manufactured in that year? I'm guessing not, as I have some other figures that are dated 1974 but they have the moveable wrists, whereas these don't.

I'm not particularly interested in collecting the older figures so I may end up selling/trading these.

The first one is the first "sheriff", minus his "printed on" silver star, holster with gun, red "bandana", and hat.
The cape has nothing to do with this particular figure, it might come from a "colour" set?

The others are just a mix of older klickies, the sheriff could be from the original "sheriff's house" or from the 3407 "cowboys/mexicans" set.
They're very common and rather easy to come by.The 1974 mark indeed doesn't always mean that they ARE from that year. :)

1974 refers to the year the original mould was made and it when the original needed replacing the replacement mould may still have kept the 1974 date.

Children first appeared in 1981 and were the first figures to have rotatable hands, with the adult figures acquiring these in 1982.

As someone who grew up in the American West, I find it hilarious that the sheriff has a cape!
