temporary paints

i want to paint some items but afterwards I want to return them to stock colors. Is there a paint that is easily removable for this temporay job. I wanted to paint some train cars browns but do not want it to be permanent

Acrylic paints can be removed by immersing the item in hot soapy water.  The paint then tends to peel off, especially if helped with a stiff toothbrush or a bit of car polish or T-Cut.  There is, however, always the risk that you may damage any decoration under the paint or the original surface.

A water based paint like tempera might work, but I've never tried it on Playmo. It's possible it wouldn't dry well

yeah tempera would work but the finish is very "flat". I mean it doesn't have the shine acrilic can have.

I will go look for some. The finish would be better "flat" as I plan on painting train cars for the western dio. It will look better in a flat finish as it the old dirty dingy west.

any other ideas of comments would be greatly appreciated.

I do not have enough of the old Western colored train cars and the modern ones will only work if recolored
