While we wait for Maritin's response . . .I have designated these as my Artillery and keep a small unit of them. I quite like the way they look even if they hae no basis in reality.

Same here. Only difference is i put red pants to all of them...   ;D

WoT, I put an DS order in to PM last Friday for bluecoats. I'll let you know if they come through.

PM Canada got back to me today. My bluecoats are available and should be on their way soon.  My order is tiny by PMFriends standards but still.  Here is what I asked for and prices in Canadian dollars:

Description   Part Number   Quantity   Price   Actual Cost

Naval Guard   30 00 8960   6   $2.85   $17.10
Naval Guard   30 00 8980   2   $2.85   $5.70
Black Hat      30 02 6020   13   $0.21   $2.73
Red Cuff       30 06 4980   26   $0.15   $3.90
Bayonet       30 07 0100   13   $0.15   $1.95
Rifle            30 22 5480   13   $0.25   $3.25

         Shipping   $8.00
         Sub Total   $42.63
         HST   $5.54

         Total   $48.17

Note that the 2nd Naval Guard only had limited availability although Stephanie at PM said they may have mre in 2 months (or longer).

I guess these are french afterall;  I just realized the flag that comes with this set is also a French Merchant Flag (blue field, white cross, small blue shield w/ 3 fleur de lis).

french reenactment of the battle of Pontesampaio against Spain early 19th century:

I do get confused though, because some late 18th/early 19th century french uniforms of this design look 99% the same as the late 18th century American Continental soldiers' uniforms.  At the Playmobil level of detail the bluecoat clickies could totally be used for either one believably.  EXCEPT the french uniforms of early 19th century had already phased out the tricorns (so playmobil's inclusion of tricorns isn't really accurate).  It's suppossed to be more of a bicorn at this point.

A very constructive argument Martin!

Martin, I meant to ask you for sometime now, what do you think of these ''bluecoats'' with red pants and black boots as they were issued in 3111 - Royal Artillery ?

I'm not Martin ;) but I'm using these bluecoats with the red trousers and black boots as my mid-18th century French army.  This uniform isn't exactly historically correct, as the French army wore mostly light grey uniforms in a slightly different style and didn't wear boots at this time, but I'm okay with using this klicky until Playmobil introduces something better.  I have my fingers crossed that they will make their new British redcoats in a light grey version with navy facings, waistcoat, and breeches.  I like the red pants with the black boot better than the white trousers these klickies first came with.

As for this set, such a small structure seems absurd for a fort.
