Tutorial on how to make a custom portable defibrillator.
« on: January 20, 2012, 22:36:16 »
A while back I said I would do a tutorial showing how to make my portable EMS defibrillator that is shown in several of my custom, & photo stories. Here it is. These are the part numbers or equivalent that are required from your servicing DS to preform this custom project.

30 21 7130  1 red suit case
30 21 7120  1 medical bag insert
30 21 7330  1 cable for medical machine
30 88 1292  1 decals
30 26 9830  2 orange probe/detector for medical machine
     or
30 26 7350  2 blue probe/detector

Start with a 30 21 7120 insert.

Use a tool of your choice to cut the bottom tabs from the insert to make it smooth.

Another picture showing the removal of the tabs.

A picture showing the tabs totally removed & the insert now smooth.

Now lay the insert on the smooth bottom side, with the top side up as shown.
NOTE: The rectangular design should be on the left side before preforming the cutting procedure.

Now take the cutting tool & cut the lower tab from the lower edge as shown.

A picture of the removed tabs after the cutting procedures.

This is the 30 88 1292 decal sheet from the 4221 ambulance that is used for the monitor screen.

Cut the monitor section & green button section from the decal sheet as shown.

Install the monitor decal on to the medical bag insert, making sure to test fit the cut section of decal & trimming it to fit as needed before installation.

This is the step that will require the 30 21 7130 red suit case, 31 21 7330 cable, & 30 21 7120 insert complete with installed decal.

Take the black cable & put it into the two notches of the insert as you slide the insert into the red suit case as shown in the picture pulling on either end of the cable until both sections are equal in length.

Install the remaining decals as shown on to the red suit case cover.

This picture shows the 2 paddles that are to be installed onto the cable ends.

This is what it should look like when you're done! If it does, good job, if it doesn't PM me! ;)

I hope this helps those of you that have asked for the instructions to build one of these items. All I ask if you copy this design is that you give credit to where it originated from.

BB: Maybe they should put a free defibrillator in the box with each DS order, so we can revive ourselves after the shock of paying for all of our PM! Those DS orders can be addictive; I am in the withdrawal phase in the New Year.

This looks like a great accessory for most of our buildings. Thanks for the info, Pgal
After two decades of male toys (esp. Lego and PM) in our house, it is time to build something for us women!
