Note in shippment
« on: December 28, 2011, 19:59:35 »
Well I just received a package from a web store and it had an interesting note.

"We at R***********S than you for your toy purchases, which include some of Playmobil's AddOn styles. These AddOn design can add lots of fun to playmobil's regular product line. As noted on both Ama***'s web site and our own, AddOns are usually "leftover" styles that were originally part of larger retired Playmobil sets. with only small quantities remaining for a limited time. Playmobil does not usually reproduce these Added Value items nor plan them as regular retail products. Playmobil packages them in clear, plastic baggies or plain brown boxes (depending on their size), and ships them to us a received in your shipment of these styles. These are new, but not in retail packages. We appreciated this opportunity to serve you and your Playmobil needs and we look forward to helping you expand your investment in these quality, long-lived and imaginative toys. Please consider R************S for all  your toy needs, including additional purchases of Playmobil's styles."

I guess customers were complaining about how they are packaged.

I found it interesting how they interpreted the Add-Ons as "left overs"

I wonder if they came up with this or if Geobra gave them these ideas?

Playmobil mentions on their site specifically about the packaging. I'm sure that has been an issue with some people in the past and probably always will be. So many people don't bother to read that sort of info even when it's provided.

The sellers interpretation of the parts as leftovers though is interesting.

I wouldn't exactly call them leftovers.... playmobil's explanation of them being intended as accessories or additions to existing sets is probably more accurate. Some add-ons, particularly klickies, are in fact entirely new pieces that have never been in a set before. But yeah, I guess people complained about the packaging.

I'd still like the DS service to make it to stores though, as part of the full line up. Might boost their sales greatly.

If it causes such problems it really does not seem too difficult to solve. For a very little raise in price, pennies, Geobra could upgrade the bags and boxes similar to the nice looking Fi¿ures styled bags. One side could be clear to identify the contents and the other the foil with art images. Then they could start asking us what art to put on DS items  ;) how would MISB collectors like that for their collection? On the bottom could be a little signature mark of the creator.  Geobra has invested huge money in molding technologies how about the packaging engineers, or would they be called packaging graphics technician  ? ?

"leftovers"?! :hmm: it sounds kind of ungrateful of someone to call those wonderful expansion sets that :o
ok that wasn't obviously the intetion of the store on their note but i think the intentions of Geobra are the best by offering an add-ons catalog since a long time ago - they now even consult us collectors to see what we want to see next - that term was definately offensive...ok end of the big deal ;D

regarding the possible complaints from some customers - i don't understand why some people get upset about the packaging of add-ons...by the pictures it's very obvious that they won't come in the same kind of presentation as the regular sets ::) (if i wanted x20 pine trees for a forest would x20 blue cardboard boxes be useful? of course not, it wouldn't even be enviroment friendly... :hmm: )
