Jochen, I was talking about the catalogues... (see thread-title...)
But I think, you already answered most of my questions anyway...
thanks,
socrates
Ups.
Oh, I'm totally sorry
Yes, for sure, the little "paper work" stuff was the magazines/catalogues/books thread ... sorry, absolutely my fault (so you, see there are no stupid questions but for sure stupid answers
).
I was to busy with the calendar so that this was nearly the only thing going around in my head the last time
(Maybe the confusion is already in my head, because I was thinking in three "paper work" lines: the magazines et.al. ("Some little paper work"), the calendar ("Some more paper work"), and the little blue boxes ("Again some paper work")-- unfortunately this doesn't match with the threads headline here in the board
)
Ok, back to your question: I lay the pages at the folding line over the ruler and press it with my thumb against it. So I get a first accurate crease. Than I fold it as usual and "sharpen" the folding with my finger nail. Then the single double-pages are glued together back on back; the cover wraps the whole (cf. picture below). Note, that the cover is a little broader (in the case of books) so that it has a real spine (which is also folded with the help of the ruler). Because I use for magazines less inlay pages there is no need for a spine.
After everything is glued together I use a very sharp knife and the ruler to make a final cut around the whole book/magzine on the open edges (so that the result will look like more accurate).
And in the case the magazine/book should really looks like closed, I brush with my finger a little bit glue over the book's edge where normale the pages open.
