Which Fire Engine?
« on: April 07, 2010, 21:24:18 »
I recently got thee on ebay - just because I thought they looked cute!  :-[

I've never had a fire engine but now I want one for them!!
Could anyone tell me please did they only come with 3781 or were they found in any other sets?

I've only ever seen them with the 3781 fire engine.   Before then, with the 3525 and 3526, the firefighters were in blue.

The figure with a black jacket and yellow trousers isn't original.  The fire chief was all in black with a red collar and deep red cuffs and a white helmet.

Thanks for that Gordon,
I'm sure I have an all black figure so I'll change him over.
Personally I prefer these yellow figures to the blue ones.
When i originally got them I thought of doing some sort of custom using the masks - perhaps make a wartime ARP warden or similar.

Glad to help, Elaine.

An ARP warden would be a good custom with those masks.  Visit the photo gallery and look at some of noodwachter72's Duth civil defence customs.  For an ARP warden you'd need a navy blue uniform and a white tin helmet.  There is a suitable Mediaeval helmet which would do with a bit of rubbing down.

Yes these are the 3781 firefighters.... there is one yellow fireman missing though and the black officer you have Elaine is custom made (as Gordon has already pointed out!  Gordon).

Yes, the missing one is the blonde one with the beard.

I'm sure you're right.  I was looking at the 3761  crane box and assumed that the crew would be the same as the 3781.
