Agreed Richard. I can't believe it was too hard for kids to create buildings with Steck, if the same kids can play with Lego with all its small pieces that fall apart far more easily than Steck.

Now we have not one but three, no, four building systems, which have no inter-connection possibilities? So much for the "Everything Fits" motto.

I was planning on buying the new Dragon castles when they come out here, but I'm not sure I wouldn't be better off investing the same money on eBay Steck while there's still enough of it around to prevent the prices going insane.
  :-\

It's so very, very frustrating, Martin ...

Before System-X was ever released, we pleaded with the very top people at Geobra. We asked them to please make transition pieces, so that we could connect Steck with System-X. They said, "No!"

There was no logical or rational reason given as to why. They just said, "No!"

We told them that they had made a transition piece to connect the old log fort palisade to Steck and a transition piece to connect the new plastic train track to the old brass train track. We told them that it just made good sense. Again, the answer was, "No!"

It's enough to just make you want to spit! ...

They just flushed our request right down the toilet ...

The same "top people" are still there, but we could make another run at them ...

I just hate to be told, "No!" ...  :hissyfit:

All the best,
Richard

I think the people at the head of Playmobil are just stupid sometime! :hissyfit:
Oh yes, system X is waaay better then steck... ::)
It's not like we would want to customise out castles,
the original intention of making the steck system castles.

It's not possible to make transition pieces either...
(Probably because the marketing people thought if you had to buy whole new castles they'd get more money. :hmm: )
Although if they kept the old system then us collectors who really make geobra profit would be able to continue buying from them as opposed to people on ebay.
(Oh yes geobra, you will make sooo much more money by discontinuing steck... :hmm: )

What ever made them choose to change? We may never know,
but we do know that it was a completely stupid notion!

Like I said before... 45* angle connectors! Is that so hard to ask???
Time for Playmobil to wake up and smell the coffee! (or rather, the plastic)
Discontinue system X before it is too late and you run into the same problem with that as you have with steck now!
Hopefully we will all look back on these few years and say,
"Oh I remember those rare system X sets, yes I have a few in my garage from those years that Geobra went insane."

I say we make another run at them!
And another untill their resistance breaks, and we get our steck back!
Didn't work for Burnside, but we have nothing to loose! :hehe:
We'll remind them of their creator's wishes.
(Hans Beck should have wrote something about this in his will,
or maybe he thought the people who came after him wouldn't be so blunt!)

Well, that's my tirade for today...
And untill they bring back steck, Im changing my signature!
