Very nice birth announcements, Gis! Such a good idea. I tend to be sort of a closet collector, and didn't even have playmobil on my wedding cake.  :-[

We were more or less closet collectors as well. We didn't get remarks about it from our friends though why we chose to use Playmobil. So eventhough we came out of the closet nobody noticed it *grin*

We are "closet collectors" as well, which is why joining Playmofriends has been such a relief in many ways. It's not that I'm embarrassed, it's just that I don't ever want to feel "weird" for something I love so much. My mother and sister-in-law were just in town when Aaron and I were in the midst of bidding on a bunch of lots for Christmas presents and they thought we were nuts  :-[ I never want to feel that way about our love for PM.

I used to be so embarrassed when I was looking at playmobil in a store, or going up the stairs to my one-bedroom apt with blue boxes. Now I freely admit to total strangers that I collect playmobil. But most of my friends don't know, or at least don't realize the extent of it. my family all thinks it's pretty cool.

I guess I'm at the point where I feel that whatever makes me and my family happy is exciting and good. So, what if PM comes before a hefty saving account? Life is to be lived right? I just don't want to be made to feel bad about it, because PM makes me feel so happy

oh that is what "closet collector " means?    I thought it meant you had to keep all your pm in storage!

well.... I hide some of my collection from my family. My parents and my sister (even though she also collects) thinks Im nuts. When they came for Xmas they were amazed at how much my collection grew. And they even saw the houses and the castle!!   I think they are planning an intervention!!
All my friends know about my pms though....it's just a family thing.

HI

I used to wonder about telling people and then just figured it was a lot better than collecting cuts and bruises at the local pub.

A friend just reluctantly admitted a new addition to me and it was completely harmless. He was so embarrassed about it . I mean really, he said he was spending time on chat groups with people around the world

Now my brother collects peoples debt as a job, now there is a problem. He is a banker/venture capitalist  :-[

Sorry to add to the distraction , after looking at your cards I think I will try to make Birthday invitations of this nature for our kids

Those are such cute birth announcements.
I think your kids can't help but grow up to be Playmo collectors with a start like that.   :)
