Wonderful line-up Bill! I'd love to see some of these crews in action, as Gordon has done in the past.They look neat now, but will they be so organised in the field?

After Tim's comments I looked up the Eugene & Springfield Fire Departments and EMS, and see they als have Dalmations. Is that a tradition in the Fire Service?

As Gordon knows, I have a small Police, Fire & EMS collection, not as extensive as yours, but once I have the room to spread out (67 days and counting) I hope to be able to organise them a little better than they are now (in a big plastic box all rattling around together!). The detail and variety of Police, Fire and EMS that Playmobil have produced over the years is surely greater than any other toy manufacturer.

The PCFD is well trained to be very organized & professional as shown in the photo story PCFD on the scene of a large building fire! Dalmatians are a tradition in the fire service when horse drawn fire engines were in use & their linage being carriage & fierce guard dogs protecting the horses & equipment in fire stations so they were a versatile breed adequately suited for their duties. Today they are more revered as mascots with a heroic tradition. I totally agree with you on the detailed emergency services theme that Playmobil has produced over the years! That is one of many reasons it has been my obsession to collect these toys for quite awhile now!
