5918 - Fishing Lodge @ TRU $39.99
« on: December 28, 2009, 05:21:54 »

Spotted this one at TRU, seems to go with the Target sets 5897 and 5898 spotted by Core earlier today.

This pic is not quite big enough to show it clearly, but on the front of the lady's cap, and on the nose of the canoe, are the words "North West". I think someone may have posted about this set recently because of the stove included, but I couldn't find it by searching for the set number.

Hi Martin  :elf:

It is a great set that I have resisted buying for as long as possible. I have never had one new but I have all the parts from miscellaneous lots. The cabin is very useful in many themes and so is the stove you mentioned. The tread was here that you were looking for .

If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

Weird, it still doesn't appear when I do a seach for 5918. I thought it'd been reviewed recently. Ah well, Heather will have some box pictures for the database.

The seach function must've been twitchy last night because it failed to pull up either of the two previous threads about the set. :-[

My confusion was increased because Playmodb has almost no pictures of the set (just one grabbed off TRU's website) but I guess nobody sent Heather any pictures of the box or plans yet.

$40 did feel a bit steep and I'll probably be waiting for a sale, though there are many useful pieces in the set.

I made a special trip to TRU today and bought the set.  It's great!  I love the outdoors, and couldn't resist the fishing cabin.

I bought one at TRU just before Christmas when they had all the Playmo on sale for 20% off.  I was going to give it to my husband as a Christmas present but he'd see right through that ploy and know that I really wanted it for myself.  So, I just kept it.   ;D    It's a great set.  (And it has proper canoe paddles, unlike the oars that they've given the poor guy in the new Target moose set.)

<*) Santa brought one to me, i love it.  i made a few changes to the female klickie (blonde to black hair, and a better outfit), loaded up the canoe with my sketch journal, camera and binoculars and set off paddling on the lake, while santa is sitting in a rocking chair fishing and reading with a cup of coffee.  the next pot of coffee is brewing on the fire.  good memories of a trip many years back to a fishing cabin in up state maine on long lake.   (sigh)
