Hi feather, that is a lovely collection to start with, and you have set it out beautifully.  :)
Until recently I didn't have any of the forest animals then my 13 year old got the creatures in the forest advent calendar this year and he bought me my first Playmobil present for Christmas  :o (I have always bought my own Playmo in the past )- set 4204 with the badgers, hedgehogs and foxes, so now I'm also looking for more to make a scene with them.
Good luck with your collecting,
Elaine

And Feather, I love that backdrop you've used for your forest diorama.  Did you print it off the computer or buy it from a store?

1) I gathered all the trees, bushes and ferns I had and put them all together by a blank wall. I took a picture. I moved them around and took another picture.

2) I printed the pictures out, cut around some of the trees or bigger branches and sticked the prints side by side. I then put that up on my blank wall.

3) I used all the trees, bushes and ferns again and I placed them together in front of the newly printed vegetation to create more depth as well as a better filled "forest" and "forest floor". I took a picture and moved the trees around to take a different picture... and I'm not sure but I think I did it a third time.

4) I printed the new pictures out a couple of times each and cut around the trees and bigger branches to help fit them better together. I sticked the pictures side by side to create a long background.

5) Then I took a big unfinished oil painting I haven't touched for months, on which I had already painted a clear sky. I'm not sure that shows though.  I sticked my long forest background on that clear sky oil painting and a bit on the wall (at the corner) and voilĂ . Done :)

6) placed my playmo collection and enjoyed the result lol

Skypurr - I really like the forest set. It seemed like a good way to start collecting playmobil, since I love nature and animals... and the house from that set was affordable. lol That meant i could have a fair amount of klickies, plus animals, plus trees and such...  AND a building! :) My problem is...as many here I think,  now that I started, I don't think I can ever get enough!

Thank you for explaining the process that you used for your backdrop, Feather.  It sounds like it was a lot of work but the end result turned out great.  :)
