NEW Truck With Low Profile Cab

Hello  All 

Thank you very much for the kind feedback to my recent posts. Here is another one of my conversions for my own 'Transport International' heavy haulage company. Some of you will probably have seen this custom before but i thought i would present it again with new pictures.
This is a special type of tractor unit (truck) with a low profile cab. This type of vehicle is usually used to pull trailers carrying certain types of equipment such as crawler cranes (cranes with tracks) which due to the length of the arm overhang the cab of the truck when sitting on the trailer. A truck with a normal cab would not work because the cab is just to high. The advantage of a low profile cab is that the arm of the crane is free to pass over the roof when the truck is going around corners. In the 3rd picture down you will be able to see the difference in cab height from a box standard 3935 Truck. There are also a couple of pictures of the real thing, including a load shown over hanging a real trucks cab.
The cab of my vehicle is from a 3879 Fire Truck and the chassis is off a tractor unit from set 3935.

I dont know where you line in England, but I am amazed at the variety to trucks/trailers that you know of.
I just dont see the same ones in our neck of the woods in the US.

Thank you for the kind feedback, it is very much appreciated. I only started to discover all these particular different types of trucks when i looked into heavy haulage companies on the internet. I have allways been interested in big vehicles like this since i was a kid. My mom and dad took me to see a huge load complete with Police escort that passed through my home town once. I think it was traveling 'up-north' with a huge piece of equipment for a power station or oil refinery.
Mind you i have a soft spot for US style trucks having seen them in action when i visited Australia. There were lots of Mack's, Kenworth's, Internationals, Western Star's etc. The thing i love about US style trucks is the noise of the compression brake's, i woke up one morning with the house shaking to the noise  !!

Nice job Tim,

 I can think of a few  customs that would benefit from such a low cab, the most challenging would be a car transporter and the easiest a small box van, the front of the box could come over the top of the cab, you know what I mean.

 If your into your trucks you should come out with me oneday and change a few tyres on them, theres some strange looking vehicles around Grimsby and Immingham docks.

Thank you very much for the kind feedback, i would certainly be interested in coming out and giving you a hand one day !! I cannot even begin to imagine what some of the vehicles you mention look like, it would be really interesting. The small box van (similar to a removals van) would be a very interesting custom indeed. I also like the idea of a car transporter !! Imagine about 10 playmobil cars on a huge car transporter, you have got me thinking now  .
