Hello Ben

Awesome custom :wow: I was really impressed with your usage of the plastic sheet and how you made the back look like something playmobil would make. The use of plastic sheet in this way is a real skill to master and you have it down to a fine art, something which i lack myself. There are too many good things that i like about this vehicle to list, the attention to detail is excellent. I like the storage locker at the rear of the vehicle for the extrication tools because it gives quick and easy access to them when they are needed. All in all an awesome custom Ben, its great to have you back with us.

Howdy everyone,

As always, thanks for the comments and views.

Bill - I like your new picture. What did you use for the number on the sleeve?

Tim - Thanks for the great compliments. I will say that it definitely took more than one sheet of plastic to make this truck Lots of mistakes, and I never had enough plastic.

Hi Ben,
I use 1/4" self adhesive vinyl numbers. I am in the process of numbering all of my firefighters with a 1 or 2 on both turnout coat sleeves to designate whether they are from Playmobil City Fire Department District 1 or 2 on the fire scenes. You can see the numbers on the firefighters in my new photo story getting ready to go to England.
Best Wishes,
Bill

What splendid vehicles Ben!  They both look much more like the firetrucks I see on the streets than the original Playmobil versions. They should get you in as a designer.

So do we have four board members who are more or less Fire & Rescue specialists?

I'm wondering if ex-Firemen like particularly playing with Playmobil, or if Playmobil provide such a good Fire theme (usually) that it's a natural place to start your customisations.

I have a small fire theme, as Playmofire knows, but nothing customised, and I don't have your experience in the field.

Outstanding custom FireChief. :wow: Looking at the pictures its hard to believe its not just rolled off the line from Zirndorf. And i second what Martin said, the truck looks a lot like London Fire Brigade and other British fire brigade rescue units.

Which is the real one? :wow:
