Collectors vs MISB collectors

I often see interesting Playmobil items on eBay, and they sometimes get me looking closer, but this one was particularly interesting:

Item number: 320223725078  PLAYMOBIL MINT VINTAGE GREEK 2 KNIGHTS MEDIEVAL 1 HORSE



The seller is asking $50 US for it. OK, it's rare and it's mint, but why would anyone pay $50 for this? It's one small set with two klickies and a horse.

I know we have some MISB collectors here - can you explain the fascination? Or is it really about planning to resell at a profit?

This Seller btw has a lot of old MISB items up, always with high buy-it-now prices, and doesn't seem to be getting many sales, so I'm not alone in wondering why the prices are so high.

  i confess: i am a misb collector.
not that i keep my klickies inside their sealed boxes - i always take them out and keep the boxes with instructions, leaflets, plastic bags and plastic structures on a separate storage.
 0)this is part of the fascination of collecting misb: being the first to open an imaculate box.
there is also another, more practical, side to this liking: we can be sure that all the parts are included and nothing is missing (i am still trying to complete a 3550 ship after years of ebay searching).
fortunately i dedicate myself only to one playmo-family, the pirates, and i was still able to get good deals on the old sets when i started my collection.
so now, being the proud owner of all the old sets, i just have to buy the new releases.
i never re-sell them to make a profit - i have no time to do it - but i take some pleasure on seeing the prices that some of my sets reach on ebay.
of course i could go nuts if a 3550 misb appeared, but that is the only exception...

That set doesn't fit into my Collection and certainly not at £25.00, however if I came across one for about £5.00 I might buy it.

Early Lyra is a bit like Antex sometimes, in that you don't always get the same colour of parts inside the box.
