I just wondered ...
two years ago, Tierman send me a wonderfull nightwatch of Noordwijkerhout. For it he produced some wonderfull transfers of the coat-of-arms on a klicky. But ... how did you make them, Tim?

It was an extraordinarily difficult secret process.
I scanned a shield so I had the exact size, then I used Photoshop Elements to put the image inside the shield outline. Than I printed it out on good quality paper. Then I cut it out carefully with an exacto knife. Glued the paper to a shield, and then coated over it with acrylic clear matte medium. I used about 3 coats of the medium. This works for figures also. As long as the paper is good quality it can be pretty thin and will hold together. You have to be careful with the acrylic paint if your printer ink is water soluble. I'm not sure if the paper is any more delicate than an actual decal would be, but it's certainly easier to do. I get much finer designs using this technique than I could ever possibly paint.

I'll see what I can do, Sylvia.
Unfortunately, the batteries of my lil' camera are all dead - so I will have to try and score some new ones first

Wow! He looks fabulous!
The result is definitely worth the time and trouble taken.
Seems to be a very effective and cheap way to reproduce complicated heraldic designs.
