yes, ras, you are right.
... a dolphin park where dolphins actually live less than half the time they would live in the wild.
and nobody eats them afterwards.
and they are good to eat (i tried it once, in the azores, from a net-fishing by-catch).

You ate or tried to eat a dolphin?!  :omg:
I´d probably understand if you were a castaway on a raft ... but as you speak about a "by-catch", your vessel probably was the size of a trawler.

Resistance is futile, you will be boarded!

Netting for fish inevitably captures 'unwanted' species, the by-catch. But once it's caught (and in the case of an air-breather like a dolphin, death is almost inevitable), I guess eating by-catch is acceptable. Either that or throw it to the gulls. Fish-farming is a way of avoiding by-catch and over-fishing, but the profit margins are probably worse than netting.
At that moment the ship suddenly stopped rocking and swaying, the engine pitch settled down to a gentle hum. 'Hey Ford.' said Zaphod, 'that sounds good. Have you worked out the controls on this boat?' 'No,' said Ford, 'I just stopped fiddling with them.' (With thanks to Douglas Adams)

Yes, I know about by-catch when fishing with nets, but isn´t a dolphin a bit big for being a simple by-catch? Though I know sometimes sharks get caught too... For such scenario I can only think of professional fishing with trawlers, not some tourist on a small boat.

Also, I would expect a dolphin - just because of being an airbreather - to survive much longer out of the water (as long as you keep them wet/cooled enough), and therefore more chance for rescue. Of course, if the dolphin was within the net underwater for long enough time to suffocate...  but again, only industrial fishing with a large ship not to notice a dolphin in the nets I would think.

And dophins  are not fish (like sharks), but mammals, and are one of the most intelligent species one Earth besides humans (and I´m not talking about "Flipper"). On scientific intelligence scales, dolphins score as high as about human 6-year olds, taking the 1st rank after humans,  higher then chimps who are our closest nephews.  A good reason for treating them with great respect, imho.

Looking at the fake Series 10 again, some of them are not too far off from the real Series 10. There's a race car driver, a wizard, an Egyptian (though different), the tin man is like the robot, the bandit is a bit like the gravedigger...on the distaff side, there is a waitress with a tray, a bather, a wacky archer, an ethnic figure in a new hat...I wonder if they weren't internal PM mockups.

Yeah other ones are clearly inspired by LEGO figures series. Still love that Inca feather headdress though.
