18th Century Harbour

At last I have time to post more pics from last year's exhibition.  This is the 18th century harbour scene.
It took some time to build with being on three levels, the sea, the harbour then the castle were all different heights.
I wanted to give the impression of a busy harbour but thought the castle in the background would add interest to the scene.
Someone recently contacted Walter who had a photo of it on his website to ask if it was based on a castle he had seen in Germany, but it was really just a random placing of towers, buildings and walls!

I could probably have added more had time permitted but with just 4 days to set up the whole exhibition, time caught up with us!

Wonderful! Really like the combination of the harbor and castle in the rear. Some great detail scenes as well.

It looks very nice, I like that ship getting repaired and the docks look wonderfull. I suppose it does look a little empty here and there but its understandeable with time constraints.  While adding details is a lot of fun, it can be quite time consuming.

What a beautiful diorama you created. Feels like a weekday of pleasure in town, no tourists milling about no lines, no traffic, just perfectly quiet.

An absolutely brillant work! The castle does remind me to Schloß Neuschwanstein - which might be due to its towers. And the inn's stirring some 'magic memories'  ::). How did you create those different levels?

Ein absolut brillantes Werk. Die Burg erinnert mich wegen ihrer Türme in der Tat ein wenig an Schloß Neuschwanstein - und die Kneipe weckt 'magische Erinnerungen'  8-). Wie hast Du die unterschiedlichen Ebenen gebaut?
