(but I'm surprised that France allows surprise toys which can trick kids into purchasing more food than they would otherwise have bought/eaten, had they known exactly which toy was inside....I'm not agreeable with McD etc but this is taking it a step further.....sorry, I couldn't help digressing )

Eh, you're basically buying a toy. The chocolate is so bad, it's inedible.

Possible. I don't remember Kinder Surprise being quite this bad, though that could mean it has gotten worse or I'm now a cynical adult with higher expectations in chocolate. It has been years since I've had Kinder chocolate.
