There certainly is enough to celibrate when you think about it for a moment. It's been such a great toy for all these years and has inspired so many children. I'd think that anyone who had a real connection with playmobil will have benefited from it into their adult life as well in some way, wether they returned to playmobil some point or not.
At the very least it should have given some fond memories of playing with it.
In a way Hans Beck created a Utopia.
A world filled with friendly little people who always smile, ready to happily accept whatever role is given to them wether its big or small. Cowboys, Indians, pirates, soldiers, romans, etc. all fight each other plenty, but all clickies that are "killed" are ready for another round the next day, possibly in a different role. It's like they are all part of the same theater troupe.
And after all these years the clickies are still endearing themselves to so many people of all ages with that friendly innocent smile.
While we may complain about some things at times, I do feel its done in a respectfull way. Usually its about stuff playmobil has done in the past that we'd want to see more of.. which just goes to show how much we liked something they did. We can't get enough of it.
But they are asking us what we want and while we may not always agree with their decisions of what they reissue, they ARE reissueing many great things from the past. No other toy company seems to do that, at least nothing close to on this scale. So for that we really need to count our blessings.
