What a great idea, Erwin! Great combination of the new indians and parts from the older jungle natives (aren't they?)
Beautiful and original set up!  :love:

ps: -congratulations with the outstanding performance of your national football team. So much talent, I hope we (the Dutch) don't meet the 'Rode Duivels' until the final  ;)

What a stunning set of pictures  :love: :love: :love:

I used to live in the Bay of Islands area of New Zealand which was discovered by Captain James Cook and I have loved him ever since I first read about his extraordinary life ever since then !

I have original prints depicting his landing in the Bay of Islands in my home in France which I cherish like a treasure  :love:

Thanks for the comments  :)

I was inspired by the voyages of Captain James Cook, but also by the movies "Mutiny on the Bounty" (1962, with Marlon Brando) and "The Bounty" (1984, with Mel Gibson and Anthony Hopkins) which take place in Tahiti and surroundings.

Trivia:

A replica-ship of the 18th-century "HMS (or also HMAV) Bounty", the "Bounty II", was build in 1960 in Nova Scotia for the 1962 movie. The ship was constructed following the archived buildingplans of the historical "Bounty", but she measured 120 feet in length (to accomodate the filmcast) while the 1780's "Bounty" measured 86 feet.

This replica sank in 2012 off the North-Carolina coast during Hurricane Sandy. One of the crewmembers who did not survive this disaster was Claudine Christian, great-great-great-great-great-granddaughter of Fletcher Christian, the sailing-master who led the mutiny in 1789 against commanding lieutenant William Bligh on the original "HMAV Bounty"!  :o

There is another replica, "Bounty III', which was build in 1978 for the 1984 movie. But this is a welded steel ship, overlayed with timber.

When I'd get parts for at least one additional hut (the roof from the Viking-house is not so easy to get without having to purchase the whole fortress), I'd like to make a somewhat larger dirorama, with a slightly changed 5135 ship as "Bounty".

Great ideas. I did not expect so much polynesia in the existing themes.  :)
@geobra: Thanks a lot! :-)
