Every year I do a dio for Christmas (last year's spread covered a ping-pong/table tennis table) but this year I only had room for a tiny dio. When I saw the FAO solider, I decided to turn the Victorian (5300) mansion into a FAO Schwarz flagship store (complete with Playmobil for sale in the conservatory windows
- but of course!)
The red FAO bags are handmade - made 50 of them.
For those who love Chicago, one might recognize the green Marshall Field's bags - but that's what I remember about growing up in Chicago in the '90s - holiday trips to downtown for lunch at Field's, look at the windows, and head over to Michigan Avenue for a look-around at FAO Schwarz before it closed and the red star store killed Field's.)
These pictures were taken before I had installed the wreaths in the windows - I will try and find the other pictures as I put up a Christmas Market scene in front of the building along with fake snow (some can be seen in front of the steps).
Enjoy!
