LOVE THEM!!!
Yet one thing I want to tell Geobra.....dont overdo the printing thing.....There is a sign they are killing the playmobil with the complicated prints.
I would say the optimal one (In my very honest opinion), is the Scandinavian guy in the second series. Great use of printing, yet at the same time giving as tangible parts.
-
and no Scottish with bagpipes yet :'(
but do you notice this or its just me 1 i smell an asian theme 2 they are addin on sports theme, singers theme, scary theme, magical theme and usa too theres uncle sam , and statue of liberty....
one thing for sure they are being the specials the others were one day
although hope that they wont stop the others

I don't care - I just want them all - and quite a number of them as duplicates as well.
Starting with the pregnant lady - I want her for my shopping street ...
-
Is that female singer, wearing the mask and the green thing behind and over the head, inspired from a real life one? ???
-
Thanks for the pics.
Has anyone a clue how to identify all the figures without a scale??
Is there any chnace about the IAN-code??
-
OMG! :o
I love all of them!
Really great design from Geobra! Great Job!
Can wait to collect them all, greetinds!
;)
-
At the very bottom left, the green warrior with an axe...
Is he shorter then the rest? ???
-
cool, english soldier with tall hat!! OMG!!!!
-
At the very bottom left, the green warrior with an axe...
Is he shorter then the rest? ???
He is...could it be...a dwarf :o? That would be a great edition to the Fi?ures, and maybe it means a new kind of figure for the next medieval series ;)!
Ace :brownhair:

:o Hadn't noticed that! Seems you're right!
We need bigger pics! :hissyfit:
-

Lady Gaga!
-
i can't see the pic either, is it a new picture?? :o :hissyfit:
or are there two threads about the same thing?
-
I can't see the one in the first post either.
-
Is series 1 the mystery figures 5203 and 5204 or am I missing an article?
-
Yes, that's correct.
-
:o Hadn't noticed that! Seems you're right!
We need bigger pics! :hissyfit:
The basket ball player looks shorter as well so I think it is just camera scale that is making it look shorter. If it is a dwarf after all I do not think it looks like the designers did a very good job. It should be unmistakably a dwarf.
-
ras i dont think hes a dwarf i think hes normal size. if you notice well the one on the left is on a skate board so thats the reason hes taller and the one on the right have the helmet as for the basketball player hes wit out hat or any think

Btw, they're the same thing, I guess. I can't see it either, but it's mentioned below and we can see in the quoting, for some unexplainable reason ...
-

-
Wow. I'm wondering 2 things.
1. How many little bags am I going to have to squeeze to score 20 Palace Guards?
2. Will these release everywhere in 2012 or just in Germany?
-
Some very cool figures (or parts) !! 8-)
2. Will these release everywhere in 2012 or just in Germany?
Everywhere except in Belgium. Stores here still don't carry the 1st series (except for maybe 1 or 2 smaller shops), so I'm doubting they'll bother to carry the next series.... ::) :hissyfit:
-
Strange, they are pretty widely available here. Of course I find Montreal has more stores selling PM than can possibly be justified by the size of city or the popularity of the toy. . .
-
For the rock star with guitar I suggest Sid Vicious (from the Sex Pistols). The hair-style fits, though I think he played the bass.
Best,
Arnaud

"Jungle woman"??
That's kinda funny :P
Greek goddess? .. Well, could be an idea ... (Now that you said so ...)
-
I think that one called a "greek goddess" is a woman from India, in a sari.
-
I think the 'jungle woman' is meant to be Jane.
So perhaps we can expect Tarzan in series 4.....he might give Speedo dad a run for his money ;)
Claire
-

Doesn't look like it :hmm:
Looks more like ancient Greek ... ::)
-
I agree... Greekish at least... She looks like Medea from the 1963 Jason and the Argonauts...
-
Did the figures sell for $2.99 in the US? I was just at TRU and now they want $3.99 :eh?: >:(
I really hope this is a mistake and not a trend
-
I hope it's a mistake! They were $2.99 the last time I checked but it's been a while. ???
-
Yeah... I meant to mention that. I was there this week and they're 3.99! :-\ They used to be 2.99. They did have a buy 2 get the third free sale on all playmobil, so I was wondering if they just raised the price for the sale.
-
I have bought all mine for 2.99. I went to TRU the other day and they were 3.99. Didn't get to buy any because the debit card machine was down.
-
:hissyfit: I was hoping this was a mistake to our location :'( Now they are more than the boxed specials. I hope the other retailers do not follow suit or Geobra does not raise the recommended retail price on the item now that they are getting better reviews from Collectors
-
Since I started buying a few weeks ago, they were $3.99 here.
-
are they really going to call the 'famous' figures that? I mean, will we see them on the catalogs / ads as "Lady Gaga", "Elvis", "Lara Croft" etc???
PM has never done that, even with the fairy tale sets they named them differently (i.e. Snow white was called "Sleeping Princess Fairy Tale Set") - it'll be interesting to see what twist the names of sets take with these figures

I don't think they would risk the lawsuits or licensing issues by calling them by their "real names". They might refer to Lady Gaga as "Pop Singer" or something along those lines. 8-)
-
they are even better then the first series... and do I see alien figures again?......YES!
-
Since I started buying a few weeks ago, they were $3.99 here.
This is more appalling here....check this site out
They are sold at 480 YEN
http://www.playmoland.com/playmoland/7.1/5203
-
Yup, that definitely is a rip off at about 6USD each. I can check shipping costs out of the US if you want and will see what TRU is charging for them today. Which ones are you missing the most? Cheers, Pgal

Oh...that is for the poor Japanese collectors......we are comparatively fortunate here, just need to spend USD4 for a single fi!ure..... 8-)
-
That's the same they cost here now. :-\

It seems they have been listening to some of the things we want to see, and
incorporating them into the F?gures.
-
Just noticed the Rasta man. Awesome. I really like all of these figs. and can't wait to get my grubby paws on them. I suppose I better hurry up and get the rest of series one before they disappear.
-

Finally bringing the cool figures back by TRUE POPULAR DEMAND
I guess the wandering monk would be another nice addition

yeah, I hope so! 8-)

I wonder if the bows on the female jockey klicky are the same as those found on the 3665 princess and the maid in 3627. The originals are next to impossible to find.
-
i'm in strasbourg this week. the old specials - which i get for 2 50 both in malta and in belgium; are selling for 3 50 and even 3 90 here. the figures, from 1 99 they are selling for 2 50. ::)
but i was in baden baden in the weekend ... and i bought the new indians and knights supersets :P :P :P :P
just sayin' :P

In the Playmobil USA Toy Fair video, there was a good look at Series 3 in real life. Amazingly, the robot figure is clear :D!
Also, here's a really good pic of the dwarf:
Ace :brownhair:
-
thanks for those close ups, Ace
interesting fact about the first guy
as for the dwarf - i love him
i keep thinking the Surprise Figures are so special that they don't need to me mixed among themselves (if you switch those short legs the resulting klicky will look hilarious ;D)
it'll be interesting to see how the dwarf needs to be taken apart, apparently he's a fat klicky
-
wow! the dawrf is reallu shortter and the clear one is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thank you ACE!!!!!
-
YES YES YES! He is a dwarf!!! :woohoo:
I cannot wait! I want to get 10 of him. ;D ;D ;D
-
That clear robot is very cool. It's an easy enough thing for them to do, they use a lot of clear anyway.
The dwarf is interesting.
-
Oh, the clear one is awsome!!! :yippee: This is so exciting!
-
it'll be interesting to see how the dwarf needs to be taken apart, apparently he's a fat klicky
He is? DARN. That drastically reduces combination possibilities.. actually.. is there another fat surprise figure?
Great find Ace!
-
awesome awesome awesome

I don't care - I just want them all - and quite a number of them as duplicates as well.

which one is pregnant? i can't spot her ???

-
wow - so this series is available from March / April 12?
if i'm not mistaken i think series 3 won't be available until August (at least in Germany, in the rest of the world might be a little later than that)
-
Just got off the phone with some people and it looks as though the USA release has been pushed back because they decided not to let them out here until after the Toy Fair in New York. So I am guessing that they will start showing up at the Funpark next week, and then the retailers might get them in 3-4 or 6-8 weeks... ::) That is for Series 2... Series 3 is on schedule for an "August" release ... maybe even as soon as Mid-July

If he is a fat kicky then has Playmobil made a belt to go around our chubbier figures? :)
-
You might have one wallet Panos... but you don't need two kidneys ;)

-
Ooh, how much are those going for now a days...
Would they sell for more on the blackmarket?
-
If he is a fat kicky then has Playmobil made a belt to go around our chubbier figures? :)

There's already one, so they have the mold. Which color is this one? You can't see the dwarf very well in the picture…
BTW Panos, if you're selling a kidney…
-
I LOVE the karaoke singer and the pregnant lady! Have to say that Playmobil did a pretty good job this time around. :yippee:
-

Hey hey, dibs!

Very nice these new figures!
It always amaze me how Playmobil always come up with new ideas & designs.... I mean after all those years I would start to be short on new ideas!.... But hey that is why I'm not on Playmobil payroll!
Got to get these new figures for sure!
Cheers from Canada! :cheerlead:
Baboune
-
Looks like the Elvis lookalike is selling for the highest price on eBay.
-
Hey hey, dibs!
Stand in line buddy! I'm first >:(!
-
Yes, you are, because I said so. ;)
-
Hey guys, I just joined, so I never got to say anything about these! I think the dwarf is absolutely awesome! And I agree that it'd be wicked if Playmobil made a theme (maybe fantasy?) or even just a set with some dwarves. Too bad they used the Roman-style gladius for him, but that could easily be changed. Though a normal sword would probably be too long to fit... It would have been cool if they'd have made a new short sword for him.
The Dragon Land-type knight seems cool too; is his armour shiny silver? It looks like it. His swordbelt looks sort of strange though, like it is square-looking and in an awkward place.
Aside from those two, I like the bride-looking one and maybe the pirate, but he seems to have a similarly strange swordbelt.
