Thanks for the pics, can´t wait to get mine.
What about the bubble under Dürer´s painting? Problem of the sticker?

Neither did I!
Thanks for the pictures young skywalker. Strange looking hat by the way?
-
the bubble was my mistake...
-
Me thinks his legs are very viking like.. ;)
-
He looks amazing! Thanks for the photos!
Strange looking hat by the way?
I think it's the kind they sometimes use on pirate figures. I've seen it in red and green before, but the stripes give it a whole new look.
It's pretty similar to the one in the Dürer portrait, probably the closest they had since it's unlikely they would create a completely new one for a limited edition figure. :)

I have two of these now in krull city and they do look awesome i have to say !!!!     .. very medieval like klicky !!!!!

Thanks for the review. It is heavily sought after in Hong Kong and each is sold at US$ 22 !!!!
Geobra could improve if they just print the painting on instead of using a sticker :-[
-
Hi,
I prefer the sticker, this gives us the chance to exchange the paintings.
Only print e.g. the Monalisa to a sticker and a new creation is born.

Great looking figure but I must agree the hat looks more like a helmet than a cloth hoodie. I understand what Sylvia said about the desire to avoid making a new mold just for a promotional figure but they sure should have in this case. If they did we could have had a new medieval part that would have been useful in many colors for all the peasants geobra makes us ::)
-
it is cool to know people have different perceptions to the very same piece of plastic.....
it looks really soft to me....probably because I have its counterparts in light green and reddish orange. :P

Heronimus : the figure costs about 3 € in the store in nürnberg. i paid 6 € @ ebay. so already someone made 100% profit . now you say the same figure is sold for 22$ in your country. this makes me really angry. there are so many people trying to suck money out of us - unbelievable. grrrrrrrrrr

Yes......but they may claim hefty international shipping and handling is incurred....blah blah blah
BTW......how much would it cost sending things from Germany to Hong Kong?? I noticed one box of specials costs around 5 EURO S&H on ebay.de. Some even dont list such information. I am told earlier the DE postal rate is in step-up pattern, right?
and just a friendly reminder....sellers are lurking around. Luckily I just dont deal with them....phew 8-)

Yeah... it looks soft to me, too. In fact it looks just perfect. I have a pirate with this hat, I think, and it definitely doesn't look at all like a helmet when you see it in real life.

Hi,
postage will be 3,45€ plus envelope etc....
Regards

I see....so that is actually quite fair for them to charge 2 Euro more for handling. Thanks for your information!!!!! Next time I can shop on ebay.de....getting the specials one year ahead of my local stores....
I still fail to get hold of the samurai :-\
-
Maybe another quick question....what would the total shipping be if we are talking about 6 specials?? Thanks for checking that out for me.

Jee, sending such a set to Hong Kong seems as cheap (or even cheaper) as sending it to next-door-Belgium! :o 8}
-
These are lovely photos of Durer! The parts will be so helpful in making customs.
Maybe PM will see how eager we collectors are to buy unique specials or small sets! Wish they offered different ones at every major museum because folks love to take home something from a museum. If the set included a small animal or pet that is found in that country, that would also be incredible.
Ideas for a small set from some of my favorite places including the:
Capital Museum of Beijing,
Hong Kong Museum of Art,
Shanghai Museum,
Museum of the Terracotta Army,
National Museum of Korea in Seoul,
National Archaeological Museum in Naples,
National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, and
National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City.
This would be a wonderful method for increasing name recognition of Playmobil, especially in Asia. They could label the theme "Museum."
Anyone have suggestions for the Museum theme? Pgal

My only problem with him is the painting.
What sort of creature is that? With something REALLY odd in its face......... uhm.

Shipment of 6 Specials should cost 7,-€...

what do you mean?
That's the real Durer.
-
Those creatures don't exist in the playmoworld... Me thinks it should have a painting of the playmoDurer...
Ah... and I just opened one... The hat has no stripes.
(he does have LOVELY legs...)
-
Tahra, I agree about the legs. Are you saying that the hat of your first Durer is white without any stripes? If so, it surely does not look like the hat on the box.
I hope that PM will do a lot more painters and artists because we need more interesting figures with parts that can be used for any theme. Cheers, Pgal

Stuck the pic on the PROCESS thread..
But here it is: stripeless hat (http://www.playkingdoms.com/temp/playmoproc/durer-nostripes.jpg)
-
What's with the coloured chainmail? I thought it came only in silver and gold.

its plain hair. its a nice touch me thinks. Instaed of creating a special hairpiece to look like his hair, they produced a brown chainmail.
-
Tahra,
Thanks for the pic. Weird that the box photo shows stripes on the hat. Is it unusual for the figure to be different from the box photo? Pgal

It should have the stripes, it hasn't because of a production-flaw with Tahra's one.
-
Hadoque,
Thanks! I like the stripes!
Pgal
-
Well, my second one has the stripes...
-
Just like Tahra to end up with the extremely rare stripeless Dürer hat. :P
