When I visited Toys R Us in Olympia Washington today, I was surprised to see a pink case of Fi?ures <:>! It had two rows of pink bags on one side and two rows of blue bags on the other. The Fi?ures were on a shelf on the Playmobil aisle but not at the cash registers yet ???. Of course, I came home with quite a few packs ;D!

of the blue pack I want:
the knight
the mummy
zorro?!?!?! wow!
the cook
the rockstar
uncle sam
the grim reaper who looks like Slash
and the executioner!!!
oddly, I want EVERY SINGLE one from the pink pack:
for the blue packs, I wonder how good I would be at figuring out which clicky is in there just by feeling the package with my greedy little fingers? lol
-
That is great! I mentioned yesterday that they were in our TRU on Tuesday...one box with half pink and half blue.
Did you get the second figure for half off? This offer is good only in the store for multiple items.
If you order online, in the very fine print it says good for only 1 item in online orders. I found out the hard way after it would not discount more than one item in my order.
Cheers, Pgal!

Playmogal, I bought 12 packs, and got six of them for half off :woohoo:! It averaged at just under 2.50 USD each after tax.

What's the cost there?
-
So far I have seen them for 2.99USD at TRU and our local toy store. Have not found them anywhere else in town. That is a very competitive price for a toy IMHO. Pgal!
-
Our local TRU here has just got them in (infact the display box was still in it's outer cardboard shipping box! :P)
I didn't buy any though, as they obviously wern't priced, and besides, I went to buy some new vacation theme sets :-[
Damo :)

Jay, the individual packs are $2.99 :).
Ace :brownhair:

Thank's Ace. I must get there as soon as possible. BTW, I've seen TRU do Buy 2 get 1 free sales on Playmobil.
-
Great, thanks for the tip. Off to TRU tonight. Did everyone figure out the codes or do we have to feel the bags for ID?

I just grabbed as many bags as I could afford without feeling them or checking the codes ::).

Ras: I have not found a code that works, so I just feel the bags when I have the time. I can identify the specific figure about half of the time. It is harder than it looks because there are so many parts in some of the bags. If I am short on time or patience, I just grab a lot of bags.
Folks will probably just trade away the ones they don't care for...after they open the bags and play with a few. I cut half way across the top, and then seal with a piece of clear tape that wraps around both side. Before forgetting what is in the bag, I write what it is on the back on the tape with a permanent marker.
And many of us will have specific parts that we need or want to sell depending on what we are building, so maybe those can be traded, too. Several guys I am turning into gals; I should some have extra male heads unless I decide to build more men.
After you build a set of the blue ones and the pink ones, you may be surprised at which ones are your favorites. Don't get rid of the others until you are sure you won't need them. They may become scarce items if PM does not produce enough or introduces Set Two soon.
Cheers, Pgal
-
I'm going to take a shot at it tomorrow. Maybe buy two at a time until I get the ones I really want. At $2.25 each you can't do too badly. I just don't know how feeling the bags will work. Does one feel for the hat/headgear first?
-
My wife and I opened a box of each and we found them rather easy to identify by feeling the bags... there are some very distinctive parts... I don't remember if it has been posted elsewhere but here are my suggestions for feeling out the figures.
Blue Box
1. Blue Knight - the funky dragon knight shield
2. American Football Player - the pads/breastplate... you may have to slide it off the torso to make sure... also the football itself
3. Boxer/Rocky - first the cape... then the gloves... (or just make sure there is no scythe)
4. Mummy - the hobo stick
5. Zorro - the hat... and if you still aren't sure, it is the only one with a short flexible cape too
6. Pizza Chef - the pizza tray and the apron
7. Rocker - the vest... this may also require you to slide it off the torso within the bag... but it is the best way as the guitar is not assembled
8. Uncle Same - The top hat
9. Grim Reaper - cape and scythe
10. Trophy winner - the trophy/scroll/or hood
11. Dragon knight - the shield is the biggest giveaway - the crossbow also helps (wings can be hard to pin down in the bag)
12. Executioner - the hood (hood is flexible plastic so be aware of that) and the axe (also the neck piece if you want to do that)
Pink Box
1. Princess - skirt, and then the hat cone is the most distinguishing feature, "popcorn" can also be useful
2. Fairy - wings and wand
3. Snow Queen - skirt and then the hat
4. Rocker - Microphone
5. Mountain Hiker - the scarf
6. Robber Woman - the sack... also the hat
7. Er... Cargo Pants woman - the little hood and the pants
8. Witch - Cape first... it is also a flexible cape... then the hat
9. Rider - the hat and the crop
10. Cave Woman - the utensil accessories, the baby carrier, and if you are lucky... the baby :) she also has very distinctive short legs and skirt and these clip in differently that any others.
11. Mermaid - uh... the fish tail... and the crown id that doesn't do it for you :)
12. The Other princess - skirt, the hair has a hole in the top for the crown to sit in, and the mirror and brush (also NO HAT CONE :) )
-
Thank you for this complete list! it will be very useful! Someone did post a list of a few of them, but now we have suggestions for all of them!
-
Yes, thanks you so much, Baron Marshall for your very complete list  ! I was also able to identify the cavewoman's baby and the fairy's wings.

So it ends up in touch and feel eh? I wonder if they have these at the Athnes funpark next week ;D ;D ;D
-
Well I went to another TRU and they didn't have these. They did have the new dollhouse. They only had three new knight sets. I have yet to see the yellow lion sets. I almost bought the falcon knight castle but since I have a box of each of the surprise bags ordered through my local toyshop, I passed this time. I'm trying to be patient, but its annoying that my local shops have not received any new pm. The month is almost over and seems like my area is getting stiffed!
-
I wonder if groping Playmobil bags may be seen as at least a misdemeanor in some places... (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/luwerner/gif/hmm-1.gif).

If they had the display up at the cash register, it probably would be, but at my Toys R Us they had the Playmobil way in the back and the aisle was empty :evilplan:.

Well, checked two today and nothing. However...... they will be having the sale a few times more before Christmas. I did check up front also.. I was all set to grope them. I even printed out the list what to feel for. But, yeah, it is weird.
-
Well after my little rant this morning I finally got a call that my local toy shop had their pm delivered. So I got my two boxes of these and an extra executioner that I felt the bag for while I was checking out. It's about time!
-
Has anyone else had issues with the Fairy? I have two of them and the wings aren't spread out like in the illustration. :-\

Robbie, I got one fairy and the wings wern't spread out, either :hmm:. They're pretty rubbery, so they might spread out if you bend them and hold them that way for a few minutes.

I thought about placing a heavy book on top of them to spread them out. I really am not fond of the huge hole in her back. 8}
-
The hole in the back is perfect for sword stabbing... and I have found that if you bend them back and hold them a little farther than you want them they turn out fairly straight.
-
NO baggies as our TRU so I went to our local brick and mortar and picked up 6 random klickies. Why did it take Geobra so long to make it easy to remove the head. My Lego boy is going to actually like this a lot.

I agree that the easy customization of the Fi?ures should have been done a long time ago :yup:. Hopefully all the figures will be customizable in sets to come. As you said, it will help Playmobil counter the Lego figure's changeable parts :D.

I'm going to have to wait at least a month... our TRU is moving to a new store. So right now they're having a HUGE moving sale (they have four aisles of playmobil at 20% off ) but they aren't bringing in any new items to this store, only clearance items that came from other stores... LOTS of egyptians and circus sets, plus ghost pirates, vacation theme, a few pirates.... Anyway, no new sets until the new store opens on September 30th. :(
-
Wow, I'm jealous of you having access to all those markdowns, Bonnie!! 8-)
-
Yep, and I'm hoping they get marked down further as the month goes on. From what the manager told us, they must sell everything before they close. BTW, the displays were dealer-owned and couldn't be sold. :( Chris asked.
-
Well right now with the "buy one get one 50% off" equates to a total savings of 25%, which is not the best sale TRU has
Bonnie did they have any decent clearance prices ?
-

All playmobil 20% off right now, which isn't so hot. They do have every circus set except the trailer, though, and other sets I haven't seen in stores in a while, like a couple of (not to great) pirate sets, ghost pirates, plus marine sets, lots of animal clinic, safari, zoo, school, egyptians, vacation, plus small police and rescue sets, no big trucks or anything, though. And they must have 50 of that set with the moose, kayak and 4x4.

does this include the big ghost pirate ship? (normally around $60)
-
i found those at my local TRUS but honestly i think is just ugly pieces, the good ones are the legs from the green knight the hood from the executioner, the arms from the mummy to my arab customs...
the girly ones are better, i can use a lot of those shoes to wear my arab knights, or i can use the fairy ones to my medieval town... or victorian... but overall not worth it to me :)
-

Yes, last time I was there, they did have the 4806.
-
They've made it to the local stores here, but I can't seem to feel any particular pieces to identify each set. I see that they all have different numbers on the back. I've seen a lot of posts about the numbers, but generally do they really mean anything at all?
-
Quick question: Is there REALLY any significance of the numbers on the back of these packages?
-
Nope, the numbers on the bag mean nothing. 8}
-
Agreed. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason.
-
Dang! Well, thanks. I appreciate the help.
-
After getting a box of each of the blue and pink, they are real easy to feel what's inside. The blue ones are the easiest. The pink ones with the big dresses are the hardest.
-
Hi, well, got some but not off to a good start. The very first one I opened, the headsmen, has a deformed left arm. Then, the second one I opened was one I really wasn't that interested in. And, at this point it feels that one of the bags has the same figure.
-

Pics of that headsman please?
-
I haven't bought any of these yet. I was already very skeptical about the whole fi?gure venture ... the straw that broke the camel's back was the printed dagger on the highwaywoman. Still ... I would like to get one of those cavewomen if I see them on ebay. Might be more expensive there but at least Ill know what I'm buying.
-
Tara, I'd be glad to , but I haven't mastered posting pictures yet. One of these days I'll catch up when my kids are home from college. The figure seems to have the molding pin still on the arm so the left hand can not be inserted. I thought maybe it was supposed to be that way, but I can't even get the glove over it. Must be hard to chop with only one good arm.
Bolingbroke, I think I agree with you. I'm not sure paying for things I don't want is the cheapest way to go, even with them on sale at TRU now.
-
Pics of that headsman please?
Tahra I have somewhere a playmo kid with only one eye made ;D, for your museum. I'll try to look for it and take a pic. ;D

-
A local shop has them here for $5.99?!?!?!
No, I haven't gotten any at that price.
Anyone seen any in TRU Canada?
-
At that price, I wouldn't buy them either.
-
Well, I actually let my fingers do the walking and called the local ToysRUs. (I have to confess I was very reluctant due to the fact they don't really seem too knowledgable about what they have and the toys they stock.)
However, I can state, that according the girl I talked to, YES, ToysRUs in Canada has these as well.
They are 2.99 each. However, the local shop said they only have the 'blue' ones in. Or at least 'out'. She didn't think they'd sold out of the pink one so maybe they are just not out of the back yet or just not shipped to the store yet.
-
Learning Express here had them for 4.99 each. :hmm: But I got a bunch at TRU for 2.99 each, plus a discount since they were having a grand opening sale! ;D

I'm just hoping TRU has another sale prior to Christmas - they just had a 20% off sale here.
I'm not enthusiastic about any of the blue (boys) figures. The pink ones are so much nicer in my opinion.

So did I :yup:! I practially cleaned out their pink bags !

Funny that all you guys like the girl figures better; I actually like the boy figures better!
-
Watch for another Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale at TRU. They do that every few months. They certainly will have at least one more 25% off sale also.
-
Sniff. We dont appear to have them in Australian stores yet. I have a TRU with an extrmely limited playmobil selection but I know I will be snapping some of those pink bags up once they arrive (yes, I am a pink bag fan too!). I have seen some on ebay from an Australian seller but the price is too, too high.
-
Just back from a lunchtime PM run. Got 2 of the blue F?gures at TRU for 2.99$. That seems to be the price here in Mtl. Managed to feel my way around and end up with the Dragon Knight and Headsman. So only looking for the blue knight now and then it is on to 5204.

for the blue packs, I wonder how good I would be at figuring out which clicky is in there just by feeling the package with my greedy little fingers? lol
I finally went to TRU last night and "felt up" most of the bags, lol. I was able to identify almost all of them except the witch and the mummy (cuz I didn't get to feel all the bags in time). I didn't have enough for all of them so I just picked the two I wanted most: ZORRO, and the Medieval woman with a pointy hat and birdseed(?) with a dove. Sure enough, they were the ones I got!
Interestingly, the medieval woman has stick-on star jewels that you have to apply yourself.....did PM take a page from our forums (Tonguello, EmmaJ, etc???) Or was it the other way around?
I had fun positioning the tiny micro stickers. And my kids got frustrated attempting to assemble the clickies from scratch. I ended up having to do most of it for them. And the only thing that bugs me is Zorro's gloves are red. I stole my roman horse-mounted leader's horse for Zorro to use. Oh yeah, and Zorro's flimsy cape keeps falling off! Grrr!!! (I have this same moulded cape on older clickies that don't have this problem, but this one falls off because it's made out of a thinner cheapo material!).
I must come back now for the witch and mummy my favourites. And the rest of the medieval women. And the cook.
Oh yeah, and I got several weird looks from customers and workers as they passed by wondering what the heck I was doing when I was feeling up the bags like that, lol. But I don't care! :p
-
Yup. one can get weird loooookkkkssss while squeezing the Figures trying to figure out whatthehelltheyare! I did most of my feeling in the local toystore where they know me and don't mind at all. Glad no one was arrested for something or other!
In the end they are worth squeezing because there are some pretty cool dudes and dudettes in the first series. Can't wait for the second round, Pgal
(Does anyone know when the next series will arrive in the US? How about in Germany?)
-

I know what you mean about getting wierd looks when squeezing Fi?ures :uhoh:! Luckily there aren't too many people in the Playmobil aisle at the Toys R Us in my town! As far as the next series goes, they had a worldwide relase of the first series, so I think the second series will be officialy out in Febuary. However, they probably won't be at Toys R Us until late summer 2012 ::).
Ace :brownhair:
-
Guess "worldwide" has a different meaning for Geobra - they must mean in all of Germany!
Anyways, I WISH I could ID the bags.. Wouldn't mind a couple more knights and cavewomen
-
LOLZ.
Fi?ures are finally available in Malta ::) ::) ::)
They're even bragging about it on the local Facebook page. Better late than never, I guess.
One thing I would like to ask American members is this: you're always complaining about getting stuff a year later than Europe, but last week when I was in New York they already had the new pirate sets at TRU ... that's mere months after WE got them! Was this a one-off?
-

I think that Toys R Us generally gets 1 or 2 series earlier than the rest of the U.S. This year, it looks like it's just going to be pirates. Last year it was Treasure Hunters and before that Ghost Pirates. (Sorry, off topic :-[...)

WOW! That is a very long time to wait for Fi?ures!!! If that happens again, please ask some of us to help you get them because they are very lightweight and do not cost much to mail abroad.
Has anyone else who wants them not received any Fi?ures yet? Cheers, Pgal
-
Thanks but I got them from Belgium. They've been available here for months.
Still, I wonder why it took them so long to release them in the country they're produced ...
(and don't worry Ace, I don't think your post was off-topic at all. if we were all to keep strictly on topic, the only replies to the original post in this thread would be along the lines of 'great!' or 'huzzah' or something :)). Topic-jacking is one thing ... but I think there ought to be a certain organicity to a thread, otherwise it would be a bit boring eh.)

Those figures, I don't know what to think of them. Of course they are klicky's so that's good, on the other hand why do I want to buy a klicky blind? Why isn't it just a special "special" were you can interchange heads, arms etc etc.?
Just as mentioned earlier you just stand in a shop feeling if you can find out which one is inside. I don't like it.
So I must say that I'm most happy that some local toyshop here opens the bags for you and let you know which one your buying! 8-)

And what does he do if you don't want the one you find? Does he keep it there for the next customer? What if some accessory goes astray? I don't like the idea either. 1) its cynical 2) its apeing Lego in a bad way. Still, some of those figures are very pretty and the construction I just love.
-
I see this is around again, so I'll add my two cents again. Of the first lot I bought, I got one that was, 'okay', one I never would have bought, and one of them which I would like, the headsman. HOWEVER, he had a very deformed arm. I called DS about getting a replacement for him and they said they don't carry those, and didn't even have parts for them. So, a few weeks ago I took another bite, got three more, one of which was a dupe for the 'okay' one, one that was very good, and one I can't even recall now. I've tried the 'feel' method, which I really think is hit or miss. If I can get them for 2dollars again I'll probably take a chance on a few more, but I'm not feeling a whole lot of warmth for this method. Maybe for young kids it's fun, my granddaughter seems to enjoy them, but she's disapointed that she hasn't gotten any of the 'princesses" yet, either. So, I don't know. We'll see how deep I want to go with this. Maybe at some point we can set up an exchange.
-
They are here finally.......but I can't feel what is in the bags....all I can feel is the dragon knight's wings and the others all feel the same. I want the zorro so bad......

I was feeling some mystery figures at Toys R Us tonight to see if I could find more cavewomen. (And an Uncle Sam) It's easy to feel the figures that have capes, then you just have to feel if it's the short cape or the long cape. I wasn't able to find an Uncle Sam (you feel for his hat) but I was able to find a Zorro (it's the hat with a ridge in the middle and the short cape). The challenge is being able to tell the difference between the hair and the hats.
Feeling for the big skirts is easy on the girl figures if you're looking for a princess. Then you feel the accessories (pointy hat - blue princess), (pointy crown - pink princess), (pointy star wand - aqua princess).
I do think it takes a certain brash personality, however, to be able to stand in the aisle and feel the bags and not be worried that everyone is staring at you. Because, they are! But, I'm a bold dragon. Let them stare all they want. :D
-
Heronimus and Jay, turn the bags where everything falls to the corner. You can feel better in the corners. Turn the bags periodically to move the parts around. The boy figures are the easiest to know what's inside. The two knights can be identified by their shields. Zorro by his sword. The football player by the tiny football and the contents are small, the chef by his hat and flat tray, the mummy by his turbin style hat, the track star by his trophy and small contents, the reaper by his hat cape and sickle, the boxer by his small gloves, uncle sam by his hat, the executioner by his rubbery headgear and axe, and the guitar player by his guitar body, because the guitar is in two pieces. Hope this helps.
-
I actually stood in front of the cashier to feel the bags....but I just couldnt.......probably zorro and the executor is not in the box. The whole scene was indeed quite awkward... ;D

But do u think the code works?? I see the numbers at the back of the bags
[/quote]
I don't think the codes work at all.
Besides all of the other great hints that have been posted here, the other thing that I ended up doing with these figures is buying just a few at a time. I found that every time I went back, I got better at feeling the bags. The 4th and 5th time around I was able to correctly identify each one I bought. But, I was able to buy them at toys r us, where nobody really cares when you stand and feel the bag for 5 minutes :). Plus, with 3 of us in the house who collect these, I wasn't disappointed when the first few times around I ended up with plenty of doubles.
Hope this helps!

I'm not sure what you mean by an "extra" sheet of instructions. Each figure comes with one sheet of instructions neatly folded into a 3.5 cm x 5 cm rectangle. You have to move it out of the way inside the bag when you are feeling for parts.
The second post in this thread shows the top of the sheets (just the pictures of the figures) the bottom part of the sheet shows the instructions for putting the pieces together.

I see....I thought they also have a sheet of instruction like the PDF we ve seen on the official website
-
Heronimus I think it is the same instructions in all the bags. They are not klicky specific, just a generic instruction sheet on how to put a klicky together.
-
They are here finally.......but I can't feel what is in the bags....all I can feel is the dragon knight's wings and the others all feel the same. I want the zorro so bad......
the key to zorro is to feel for his perfectly cylindrical hat. There are 2 other similar hats: Uncle Same (who has a taller cylindrical hat) and the grim reaper (who's hat is similar in shape to zorro's but has huge buldge on the top. Zorro's hat is flat on top. I found mine that way.
It helps though that at Toys R Us there is also a glass display that shows all the clickies in real life, so you can look at them while you're feeling through the bags.

Mine came with clicky-specific instructions, not generic ones.

I have seen the odd Australian seller selling these on ebay but at quite high prices. I wonder when our TRU stores will get them - I want a feel fest!
-
Meh. Bought 4 pink ones, and ended up with 2 winged fairies and 2 mermaids.
I only felt one of the winged ones - the others had no idea... And managed to avoid the large skirts. But what I wanted were cavewomen.
-
Tahra,
Hahaha! I, too, had a hard time finding the cavewoman!
Bought about 40 pink bags and came up with 3 even though I spent over an hour feeling bags at different times. She and the singer are my favorite, too.
Too bad they just don't tell you what the heck they are, and save all the silliness. I think they would sell a lot more if we knew what they were, Pgal
-
I wanted a cavewoman, tried feeling the bags but had a hard time, end up with 2 of the horse rider, a highwaywoman ( hate the pained on dagger), a singer and the princess :( Had more luck with the blue bags.
-

I got a full box of each (as detailed in my neverending PROCESS).. But I can't much resist getting a couple more.. no sense, I know.
a highwaywoman ( hate the pained on dagger),
Hate it too.. It kinda spoils the figure :(
-
The cave woman is easy! Just feel for the baby. It bends in the middle, so if you have a part that clicks bent and clicks unbent, you've got the cavewoman.
-
I got zorro finally....now want I want is the Witch and the Uncle Sam, as well as the executioner.
So the witch is identified by the cloak? Which is unique to the pink bag I guess.
I mixed the reaper and boxer up....both of them got the long cloaks
-
Yup, It is a bit tricky becomes the parts often are or feel alike in different bags.
I bought a lot of them and opened them up hoping to get a few of the ones I wanted. The others I am using for spare parts.
Good luck, Pgal

The witch is pretty easy to identify. The bag will appear very full, and the cape is easy to feel, and can be distinguished from the princess figures, which have those big hard circular skirts. None of the other pink figures have a cape.

I mentioned before that on the very first bag I got the axeman, one which I really wanted. HOwwweevvvrrrr, he has a deformed arm. DS can't help, so what now?
-
I stopped at TRU on the way home tonight and did some bag feeling. All the bags had small cuts in them so it was much easier to just push a part to the top and see what it went to based on the display. They only had a few assortments left but I did find one #9 Grim Reaper. No luck on Uncle Sam or the Cave Woman.

Did you actually contact DS? They should offer a replacement, maybe not for the arm by itself, but perhaps the whole klicky?

As Bonniebeth said, you probably could get the whole Klickey through DS. As far as the arm goes, I also got one that was deforemed with the Zorro. It didn't have a moveable hand on the end, but a ring with half of a hand on the bottom :hmm:.
Here he is:

maybe his mom and dad were cousins. My zorro is defective as well, as his cape doesn't seem moulded properly and will NOT stay on at all. :(

I mentioned that to DS when I ordered some stuff a month ago, and they said they had nothing to do with those. I suppose it can't hurt to try again.

Ace, that's exactly the problem I have, only the left arm. A real quality control problem.
-
LOLZ. This is what American ppl will evolve into in the future: a cup holder instead of a hand.
I tried my luck with these today ... but I'm hopeless at feeling the bags. Bought two ... they were two Uncle Sams ::) ::) ::)
-
Have you tried returning the defective ones to where you bought them?
-

I would, and I know they would take it. The problem is they'd probably just say go grab another bag. However, if they were to be nice enough to pen up some bags looking for them I could grab a few more I wanted. Win-win both ways, but I don't think they'll go with it. It's a last resort to try that.

Tell them u want exactly the one with defective parts and I bet they will allow you at least feeling them slowly and openly......an excuse to calmly identifying more! Only after the peak shopping days of course
And guys....I got my witch and probably all I want, except the guitarist. Environment really does play a major role in ur feelibility.

went back to TRU today hoping to see some awesome deals on PM. Unless I missed it, I didn't see anything still on sale (it was still BlackFriday). I actually went at 9pm on ThanksGiving, but didn't stay because the line WENT OUTSIDE ALL AROUND THE ENTIRE BLOCK!!!! And it was cold, wet, raining, and dark outside, so I was like "HECK NO".
When I came back today there was still plenty of PM on the shelves, minus the one-masted dragon ship. I felt up some more grab bags and successfully got the female singer and the male guitar rock star along with the Mummy. There were no witches to be found (as far as i could feel through the bags anyway). I did find the female Robyn Hood and the female Skier, but I passed. (also, why does the female skier come with ski-poles, but NO SKIS??!?!?! Oh yeah, and I also found the runner guy and the cook, but I also ask why does the cook have NO SHOES? Just Like Zorro has no horse.
I'm very happy with the female singer and the male guitar rock star. They compliment each other well, both having bare arms showing tatoos, wearing black rock star clothes and black hair doos. I wish they had come with glasses though. The female singer comes with stick-on bejewelled stickers, but I'm not sure where I'll apply them on her just yet.
Oh, and the Mummy: kinda weird, he has a ghost face, but his hands and feet are brown-skin tonned ALIVE skin (instead of bones or ghost skin). And even though he's already wrapped in mummy bandages (printed directly on his body), he comes with additional "bandages" that look more like a LEG CAST and an ARM CAST. Even his head bandages look like a HEAD BANDAGE cast(?). Those would be awesome parts to use on a medical patient who has sustained a broken arm, broken leg, and cranial trauma wounds to the skull. So he looks more like an INJURED mummy, lol. But he still looks cool anyway, especially too with his white mummified walking stick in hand. Still, weird combo of parts and paint.

to blackpearl.....how did u identify the guitarist?? I couldnt find it.....or maybe they are not in the bags on shelve... :hmm:
-
Glad yall are getting the ones you wanted finally. It does seem that stock is more widely available now. I also saw fi?ures at FiveBelow (the first time I had even heard of this store) this week.
The guitarist is my favorite male fi?ure; once you realize that the guitar is two pieces, it is easier to find. But getting the first one really is luck. And that is my favorite male fi?ure.
I understand why folks are cutting slits in them to check the ID because it is hard to figure them out in some cases. After spending what seemed like hours feeling bags in 3 different stores, I managed to buy a large number of them so each one did eventually show up. And now I have a lot of spare parts for mixing with Series 2. If they do produce several more rounds of fi?ures, it should provide us with enough parts to build a lot more Klickies with a great deal more character than many of the plainer, modern ones.
It is shame that DS does not sell hair, heads, torsos and arms individually because this would make customizing them much easier.I have been purchasing extra hair and heads in Europe, but they are not cheap and limited in supply. If anyone knows of a good source, please share it with us. Cheers, Pgal

to blackpearl.....how did u identify the guitarist?? I couldnt find it.....or maybe they are not in the bags on shelve... :hmm:
The guitar itself isn't fully built: it comes in 2 main pieces (not including the guitar shoulder strap). The neck is seperate from the body. I was able to feel the neck of the guitar: it is long and flat on one side, and mostely straight; the body-end of the neck has a wierd square face on its backside (that plugs into the body), and the other end (where the tuning knobs are) you can feel the tuning knobs (you have to really push the wrapper hard against the tuning knobs and feel the ridges with your fingernail. On the backside of the tuning knob area is a weird handle moulded there for the clicky to hold the guitar (and appear to be playing it). Such a handle does not exist on a real guitar of course, but you can feel it at the end of that guitar neck. The main give-away were the ridges of the tuning knobs against my finger nail (thumbnail)
The wrapper is thick, so actually my right hand got sore after a while of applying sufficient pressure to the bags in order to see/feel the shapes of the parts emerge through the wrapper. I got stumped on one object for a long time and couldn't figure out what the heck it was until my daughter visually observed that I was feeling a clicky's plain unassembled HEAD, lol. I thought it was a sceptor or something. Then I grabbed ahold of the guitar neck and couldn't figure out what the square end was, but once I felt the ridges on the other end that were the tuning knobs, I knew immediately that was the guitar guy!
The singer I found by feeling her microphone

How much are they there? I had one place, not very near to us, that had them for $2. But they sold out and said they wouldn't be getting any more this year. They only do toys at Christmas anyhow, so no chance of getting the 2nd or 3rd set likely.
-
(also, why does the female skier come with ski-poles, but NO SKIS??!?!?! Oh yeah, and I also found the runner guy and the cook, but I also ask why does the cook have NO SHOES? Just Like Zorro has no horse.
Some good questions. I felt like the skier with no skis was a total rip-off. Completely ridiculous, absolutely useless. Zorro without the horse is ok, and understandable as the horse would make it not much of a surprise figure. ;)
But I hadn't noticed the cook had no shoes! Maybe he not only makes pizza, but also stomps grapes in the wine vat? :P
-
The pizza guy comes slip on shoes.

Yep, the cook has slip on shoes.
It is very common in chefs and pastry chefs to use this sort of slip on shoes. Mostly they are made of rubber. There is a famous trade mark that I can't recall. They are supposed to be very comfortable to be standing for hours.
I think the decision to make the barefotted clicky with slip on shoes was based on this.
This kind. :)

lol!
This thread is really funny!
I think it's clever of them to make these packs ... I wouldn't like to buy blind though, but for children it's cool, and for collectors .. well, it looks like they become children again, trying to feel what's inside, and so on ;)
I'd love to have the thief girl though ... But won't worry about it. As Tahra said, the concept of worldwide in Geobra can be a little tricky, and it's not very likely that I'll see them like so as to choose in Brasil. (On the other hand, it'll be good to make selling return to the shop ... Not possible to buy blindly like that in the internet!)
Fun, lot of fun! 8-)
-
Yes, this is a fun thread!
Those shoes look like Crocs to me, the chefs' shoes in the photo.
I think that the winter woman is a hiker/walker with her walking sticks, not a skier. That is why there are no skis. Hiking seems to be one of the national sports in Austria where she would be right at home.
It seems to me that a store would sell more of these if they cut open the top, and sealed it with a piece of tape and the number of the fi?ure on the tape. That way the customer would know what they were getting. Since everyone likes different ones, most would sell in the long run. And the store could hold back a few of the most popular ones so no one bought all of them. Or sell some in complete sets only with the last two free. In the US, 12 for 30.USD would be a deal because you could get all 12 and not too many spares you don't want.
Any other ideas for selling more of these? Having fun with these fi?ures, Pgal

It seems to me the whole grab-bag idea is designed to sell more already; since you don't know what's inside, instead of buying a specific one, you have to buy several before you get the one you want (or in the case you want all of them, you'll have to buy dozens and end up with some multiples). If we knew which ones they were, we'd end up just buying the ones we wanted, and the store would be left with a bunch of the less popular ones just warming the shelves. Or worse yet, some ebay scalpers might scoop up all the most popular ones and auction them off for evil-ly high prices for all those who really want one and can find no other way because the shelves were cleared of the specific ones by scalpers.
I'm fine with getting touchy feely with the bags, though, plus it makes the hunt all the more fun.
But I DO LOVE the idea of PM selling a complete set, like in a gift-pack or something like that. That would be awesome! I'm certain those would sell! At least to collectors. But I see why they sell them individually, so that little kids can pick the ones they want, and parents can buy them at a more affordable pricepoint individually (instead of in one big pricey lot).
What would be cool though is if they sold theme-specific playsets designed to go with the figures. For instance, across the different editions, there seems to be always a musician on both the male and female side. So they could also sell a concert stage that you buy to go with the musicians as you collect them on the way. That way it'd be more like a game, whre you buy the stage, and then eagerly try and collect all the musicians from each release so you can complete you rock concert stage.
Or instead of a seperate them playset, each figure might come with part of a playset, and then when you finally collect all the figures from a specific theme, the parts combine together to form a completed playset!
but that would be a big headache for us if we had all but one piece which was hard to find and could only be found on evilbay.
Just some ideas.
Or better yet: Playmobil should open up to taking direct orders on specific items without limits! I swear they'd make a lot of money that way, AND it would double as effective market trend research, because PM would be able to see RIGHT AWAY which items are the most popular, and then gear their production and marketing to reflect the actual demands!
-
those are cool pics, Pgal!
I haven't had time to buy more of those surprise packs - (darn I need more time for everything in my life >:( ) The day I was at the store they were about to close and the clerks wouldn't stop looking at me like I'm nuts - couldn't stop touching the bags to try to figure out what was inside - I got 5 of the ones I'm after  (can't believe i've been so good at not getting repeats <:> )
I will probably get the guitarrist / female rock singer repeated because her tattoos are really cool...
anyway, feeling what's inside the bag with my hands has been the most effective way to get what i want, it just may take longer (and a few weird stares from people around). It's fun! :D
PS: I have heard reviews about deffective pieces in these bags...I hope not to get one myself :omg:
On a seconf thought, they'd probably make a nice addition to my one of a kind collection... ;D
PS2: those rubber shoes are horrible ???
-
Interesting about the crocs, Gaston... I never saw a chef wearing that here. Here, there are usually regulations requiring completely closed, non-slip shoes for anyone working in a restaurant kitchen. We mostly see crocs on hospital staff. So that's why that choice of shoes for a chef seemed odd to me. Interesting to know!
-
I LOVE Crocs!
Quite a lot of Chefs here wear Crocs (or at least they do where I work)
Damo :)
-
I love them too! They're very comfortable.
