:) when i joined, i was asked to show my pirate collection.
half of it - the soldiers - is in my week-end house.
i will try to show them to you soon.
for the time being - my pirates
(the 3550 boat is missing, still in the shipyard)
let´s see of this works...
-
:) the older ones.
i am sorry for the not so fantastic pictures - it´s really not my speciality :'(

Looks like a very nice collection you have there, cachalote! Hope to see more of your buccaneers! And perhaps some day... our paths will cross on the high seas! :arrr: ;)
-
:) you are very kind.
i will try and make some nicer pictures using a tripod.
... and yes, mon capitaine, maybe our paths will cross - if they do, we can always slowly lower our flags and hoist them back again 3 times - at least that´s the right salute according to the portuguese naval etiquette. :arrr:
Maybe for a belgian vessel it means something different.
by the way, do you also consider the word "lapin" (rabbit in english) :bunny: to bring bad luck if you say it on a ship? the french do take it very serious. :eh?:
i would really like to know why.
thanks again :)

Hello, Cachalote ...
Thank you for letting us all see your pirates ... :arrr:
You have a very impressive (and large) group of buccaneers !!! ... :o
I have left the Caribbean and I am now in the Pacific Northwest on Canada's Vancouver Island. Not very many pirates on this island. Must be because we're protected by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police ... :)
This coming winter I'll be back in the Caribbean on the island of St. Thomas. Maybe we'll all cross swords and have some lemonade at the "Hook Line and Sinker" (http://www.hooklineandsinkervi.com/) ... ;)
Thanks again for the pictures.
All the best,
Richard

:)thanks, panos and richard.
i am not planning on going to the caribbean sea soon and, in fact, i have never been there. :'(
i would very much like to.
for many years now, i have this idea of sailing through all the atlantic islands - the smaller ones i mean, levaing britain and etc. out.
first i have to save enough money to buy a decent boat - actually it's the only big investment, the wind being free.
it´s very sad, for me, to arrive to an island by plane, i can't really explain why.
arriving by boat is so very much nicer.
this summer i am going to the azores (for those who are not familiar with this archipelago, it's in the middle of the north atlantic). i usually charter a boat for a few weeks and i am doing it again this year.
specially to richard, in exchange for the st. thomas tip, i am sending you a link to one of the most famous azoren pubs
http://www.petercafesport.com/cafe.htm
i know canadian to be mad about places like this and i bet you would love it if you went there.
maybe we can meet there sometime.
it´s in the island of faial, a place filled with coastal vulcanic caves, perfect for hiding treasures.
when i came back i will try and show you some pictures.
thanks again,
pedro
