Very Cool!  The ship blends seemlessly.  I wish the frame in the last pic was a little thinner.  It hides too much of that awesome angry sea.  :wave:

What is the problem? They both look great. I like the second picture the best. The light/dark contrast works perfectly for the mood of the picture. Awesome job  :**:

I find the first one the most appealing, really, but it doesn't quite work because it doesn't look stormy enough. So good job darkening it up. I agree the frame is a little too thick, I think it detracts a bit. So the second is my favorite, too. All very well done, though!

While the frame may 'distract',
I think that the choice of frame for the period is correct historically,
and makes that scene even better.

i hope you don't mind (i really do) a little suggestion - the flag on the top of the mast should be turned 180º (that would make wind and sail trim go well with eachother).  :-[

That's an awesome photo! You've got great photoshop skills.  :)

From the title of your thread I was thinking about the US Navy's ship, the Port Royal, that grounded itself on the reef in Hawaii a couple years ago while we were living there. They definitely had a problem. lol
