Title: Playmobil just missed a chance to bank in with #4577

With the royal wedding taking the headlines around the world....flooding TRU and toy stores' shelves with 4577 is just a risk-less bet!!!! And we collectors can buy them at okay price.

It's a shame Playmobil didn't do a limited edition, custom, with Prince William in his red uniform, & a brides wedding dress for Princess Kate to commemorate the occasion. :-\

They'd have had to have made and sold a huge number of those to make it worthwhile.  I doubt there'd be a market for it, but what do I know!!

Playmobil UK did do a special wedding bundle, referred to here http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=7513.0 but it bears very little resemblance to the real thing!!

Putting royalty and all that aside, this is a really good custom!!!

I think that is the seller who makes a lot of WWII customs and sells them on auctions

Very expensive

I know here in the US we also had from the beginning of the year a sale on all the wedding sets. Geobra seems to be stuck with them and if the normal ones did not sell well I can see how they may be reluctant to crank out a bunch more.

I think if they would have done it, it would have done well. After all people were buying fake nail covers with their pictures on them for $25.00 for a set of 10! :o
