Well I finally was able to get this set. I have been trying for a while and I luckily managed to get it last week. I will add it to our MISB Merry Mens Feast if I could find it :-[ I plan on someday opening them up when we build an appropriate diorama

the box is in great condition

does anybody know what this # is all about ?
Talk about inappropriate box art? This kid looks like he is being kidnapped at sword point and the other image looks like the guy is hunting owls :hmm:
at first I thought I overpaid, and I may have but I am sick of waiting for this set, but then when I got it I see the original price was $36.99 (maybe inflated)
-
Great set to get a hold of, especially MISB!
-
That is a great set; congrats! That is pretty strange, the pic of the kid being stuffed in a trunk. :hmm:
-
Notice the lovely noose as well. So nice to see a Medieval set that isn't about warfare. :P

Oh you are so brilliant , in a playmo kind of way  I am making a western town center hangman exhibition, the kind with the trap door and all on the stecks warehouse base's . I was going to just use gray rope and tie the noose but this is better .
I do not want to cut this one so if anybody has this part spare I would be interested in buying it .
has anybody tried it on a klickies neck ?

HaHaHa!
An all around great set! Congratulations!
-
Fantastic set Ras!! Thank you for the pics, I have this set but its without a box! Good to know of its size!
-
A lovely set!
Regarding the numbers on the box: I was once told this is just a control number from the assembly lines.
Maybe for quality control and/or retracking of production batches?!
best,
socrates

It's a mediaeval robbers set. The master of the house is away visiting his estates. You put the child in the trunk and get the trunk into the planned victim's house by saying it is for the master when he returns. Then, when everyone is asleep, the child comes out of the trunk and unbolts the door and lets his/her confederates in to rob the place. They put the loot in the trunk and leave with it and the child by the front door.
-
Congratulations!!!! :woohoo: Those two sets are at the top of my wish list also :wall:
-
lovely set !
-
The hidey-hole tree by itself would make a great DS item, if Playmobil are paying attention.
I'd love to get my hands on this set too.

It was available as DS add on item 7093, but has been retired for a few years now.

you seem to know this technique quite well, how well does it work ? ;) From how you explained the process it is quite clever.
Since I have only now heard of this to me it looks like a sword point kidnapping and the two klickies are startled looking at the surprise witness (camera angle)
Is there a different story for the owl hunter on the other picture?
-
Sure, he's just killed a squirrel and is inviting the owl to a banquet. ;)
-
One o f my favourite sets of all time. A great set to have when biulding mediaval sets . I have bought many of these sets and wouldnt mind getting me hands on more only too rare and expensive these days. The oak tree with the hideout is indeed a great playmo tree    . As some of you know i have over 400 playmo trees :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ and this ranks #2 as my favorite after the large pine tree. It is indeed a very rare tree and great to have an awl in its recess and of course the hideout and the rope . There is a new farm set that has a wooden platform on it , i wonder if this will fit nicely with this tree...

This is our new used 5300 we just got in the post a few days ago. It is perfect for use on our porch for the boys to play with while I look for the missing parts, there are a lot. The best part about this was the price of $17. If I end up spending more on the missing parts than I got it for I think making a Halloween house will be in order.
-
What a great buy! I am sure there is a lot of play left in this old house!
Joe
-
Excellent addtions Ras!! Diverse as ever!!!
-
. . . making a Halloween house will be in order.
I think a Halloween house is an excellent idea! Could be a fun opportunity for your boys to make some non-Playmo features like a spooky graveyard, etc.
>:D (somewhat Halloween-ish)

picked up some miscellaneous stuff the other day. Well I did not have to pick anything up, it was hand delivered to myself by our friendly postman :P I love shopping for other peoples junk, just a button away ;D
From the look of what the person was auctioning they were a nutty collector. Triples of sets, lots of armies, lots of classics and other odd behavior. They told me they were old and getting confused trying to sort it all out to the many buyers so it sounds like they are retiring from playmobil. I only picked up a few things so far that were reasonably auctioned off for.

The first few thing will go nicely with our other divers
(http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc457/Koretsky/P1010003.jpg)
some random but useful miscellaneous parts
(http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc457/Koretsky/P1010004-1.jpg)
-
an old viking cart, I guess there really in no old or new, playmobil only just made the one.
the system x posts behind also came
(http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc457/Koretsky/P1010005-2.jpg)
and some very needed stecks building parts. I am still looking for someone to mold western steck other that Geobra. It is just so beautiful and to think this is a toy to play with and not a model you never touch.
-
And really the only thing (+ stecks) I was after. I just had to save on shipping ;)
The post office. I always hated how small our other one is and I like all 4 walls to be there. With this one and the one we have, but need to locate, we will make one bigger one.

 Ras,
The horse and cart is my favorite. Love the spots on the horse!

Some kind of Trojan horse?
Maybe the owl witnessed them. The guy wants to make sure he won't tell.
BTW, nice set, but why buy it MISB if you plan to open it someday? Loose it'd have come cheaper, wouldn't it?
Best,
Arnaud

I do not know why I buy these MISB when I am going to open them :eh?:
-
Nice random lot there Ras. I love that Viking cart. You have to be the only collector who has a playmo barn. Crazy! ;D
-
Well I really wanted to lay off the playmobil seeing as I have to pack it up but I just have such a hard time letting such low prices pass me by. This is a great time to buy large bulk playmobil. The weird thing is I bought about 4 large lots and they all had similar items. Some items I got were missing from the other lots so I was able to complete a lot of vehicles and such. The kids who had these sure liked to take things apart and not put them back 8}
-
I know you've told us, but I can't remember what you said or where.... why are you packing up? You have to move out of the playmobarn?
-

We are going to rent out all the buildings on our farm and are looking for a new house in the next town. We will be closer to the kids school and grandparents. I do not want to leave all the toys behind so the barn will be used for other business. I hope the property my wife picks will have room for displays otherwise I will have to build a thing similar to waltstrains display and have it in a large enclosed trailer. There are some local conventions that have asked me to join but those are timeconsuming right now.
For now I get to throw out a large carpet in the porch and play with the loot :**:

17$!!!! :o :o :o
I wish we could find bargains like that... :prays:
-
Well I decided (not that I really need a reason) to celebrate a job success and I bought some new items that were on sale. Lots were 50% off
Some were specials that bb got me that I never took out of the box till now, thank you :*)
and there is the nuns I ordered from the UK as ? ? ? told us about, thanks :**:
pamphlets were, flower pots, prices on 8x11 color Spy/Farm, old 2011 cat., order form and price list, about the knights & one Egyptian CD.
-
Do I spy with my little eye...the chimney sweeper?! Awesome!
I also love the skip truck and the summer house. Great purchases, Ras!
-
Wow! It looks as if you are moving big time into garbage......trucks that is!
Glad you have kids to play with all this stuff so it gets used. I can't imagine having any toys as a kid, and certain nothing as lovely as PM. Congrats on providing so much for them and YOU to play with!
Good luck with your move into town; it worked out better for most of our country friends as their kids got more involved at their schools and parents tired of driving all day to and fro. Fingers are crossed that your new house with have a spare barn, too! Pgal
-
You're welcome, Ras! Those are some great sets there. Have fun with that little vacation house. I need a couple more of them to make a good sized home.
-
Ras, the kids seem to be having so much fun! Hope your wife finds the perfect property for you all. ;D
Joe
-
Well bb told us about a Tuesday morning sale so I had to go and find a truck. I was very happy when I left the store. I started to wonder for a spit second if I should then I overheard a lady buying a comforter cover that was white with rainbow peace symbols all over it and her total was over mine and I really felt confident in my choice of vices
Thanks again bb for the tip
(http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc457/Koretsky/P1010002-4.jpg)
-
And the playmobil keeps coming and coming!
Nice to see, as well as the kids playing with it
-
   what you said about the lady with the comforter got me tickled. Great haul! We just got back from another tm that had 4 more trucks. So I know where we're going after we get paid. ;D
-

If you see any train cars please let me know :prays: :sorrow: :hatoff: pretty please
-
I just love these pics Ras, Playmobil being played with, as it should be! And your sons are such lucky guys to have a playmo-addict father ;-)
-
So I went and picked up a small local lot for $40
(http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc457/Koretsky/P1010003-2.jpg)
Klickies
(http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc457/Koretsky/P1010004-2.jpg)
There was some zoo stuff that will not get used for that purpose :'( It will be for fencing around our circus
A few 123's
(http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc457/Koretsky/P1010011-3.jpg)
And a classic farm wagon missing some parts :( :hissyfit:
-
Oh, I'm so jealous!!! :hissyfit: I want that old white zoo fencing, and the little zoo building that goes with it!
Btw, not to be controversial or anything, but I find it strange you are against zoos, but like circuses. ??? Zoos RESCUE circus animals. Just curious to hear your point of view on this....
-
That seems like a good bargain!
-
Btw, not to be controversial or anything, but I find it strange you are against zoos, but like circuses. ??? Zoos RESCUE circus animals. Just curious to hear your point of view on this....
I am a slave driver ;D circus animals earn their horrible traveling life and zoo animals are just lazy show pieces in captivity
our circus is only full of freaks of nature like rainbow koalas that are fed to the dragons and sea creatures of unnatural sizes ;)
I too like the zoo building but wish the iron gate was silver or black, then I could use it in more themes dioramas
I really did not even want the zoo stuff but the lady wanted me to buy it so she lowered the price. She said that here two sons (15 & 17) collected playmo. The 15 year old was ready to sell some but not the 17 year old. 2 big tubs were put aside for sale and the other 10 were saved till later :toot: "you have my # right" I said 10 times ;D
-

Ok..... first time I heard that one. I figured you might have an interesting view of the matter. ;)
Ten other tubs!? Hope she loses your number! ;D :P
-
Well I saw a local add for a playmo train
"Playmobil Train set with people and other accessories $30.
Please call Stacie at 707-363-xxxx if interested. I will not reply to e-mails."
I had to go to the next county to pick it up and I wasted no time in going after it. While I was enroute I kept thinking maybe they really wanted to put a 1 infront of the 3 in the add?
I will get a picture of the lot in a moment, and yes it was $30 indeed :apple:
-
Fantastic price indeed!!!!
George.
-
Amazing bargain - it makes my £41 one look expensive!
-
Wonderful finds, and for those prices too!
I'm very happy to have found a lot for 20 euros at Luxoplaymodays last weekend, that contained the shelter and fences of the very first zoo. But it seems you've outdone me with this one
P.S. I was about to say something about the foxes being in the same enclosure as the *camel* when I realized I do not know the English word for a *camel* with only one hump on its back. ???
-
We would call that a "camel" :D
Actually one humped ones are Dromedary Camels and two humped ones are Bactrian Camels in English.
-
so here is what I acutally got in the lot.
The Train box was not too bad, a little water damage on one side but still intact
(http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc457/Koretsky/ae5d6839.jpg)
The train, 12 curved tracks, the 2 passanger cars, a transformer and some people
(http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc457/Koretsky/67be3272.jpg)
The set had lots of paperwork and in very clean indoor condition.
the cars looked like they were used very little
(http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc457/Koretsky/f7cfd6e1.jpg)
also in the bag were the two piston rods but no black pins.
also missing was the front coupler
(http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc457/Koretsky/73968a33.jpg)
-
now the part I was not expecting. At this point I was more than happy with the purchase. I had quickly asked her the price and settled immediately for the $30. Then the bonus.
She picked up this bag and handed it too me :hmm:

I can't take those clifhangers! 8}
But you bought some great stuff there! ;D
PlaymoZoo

What's in the bag? Or you mean the bonus was the bag itself?
-
I'm guessing it's another train... :sherlock:
@ Tiermann: Aha! :) Thanks for explaining
-
What's in the bag? Or you mean the bonus was the bag itself?
That must be it!
-
 yes it is a nice bag, and my wife likes the Giants baseball team. It was a nice surprise
But nothing I am interested in so I opened the bag for what I really wanted
After she handed me the bag I peeked inside and saw a particular roof piece that was the tell tale sign of what it was ........................
-
all wrapped up and in individual bags was this set...Hmmm what could it be ?

Nice stuff! I really like the half timber house! :)
You could always paint it to fix the discoloured walls.

thats the one, thanks :wow:

Yup, all I need to do is think of a good color. I have red, yellow, blue, green & white. Dark colors would not show off the nice wood work and I am against any pink, purple, or fruity colors, it was medieval or dark ages after all ;)
-
How about tan or taupe, or other shades of red, yellow, blue, or green?
-
I would try a brown then if you don't want a repeat. A taupe colour like bonniebeth suggested sounds like a cool idea. I don't have any of these, so I'm not exactly sure how the walls and such attach to create multiple levels, but you could always paint it the same colour as one of the other houses and make a second level out of it! Of course, you'd have an extra door up there.
-
Great purchase, some nice stuff in there!! :)
-
Wish I could ind ssuch treasure around here so easily ...and so cheap .... :(
-
Some people find it all. Well that are some very interesting items! :lens:
-

I got a half timber wall in a similar condition in a lot that I bought recently. I popped out the discolored portion and it has been soaking in H2O2 for about three weeks now but I can't see much of a change. Think I will have to repaint it also. :-[
What a great buy though Ras, like finding buried treasure! :)9
Joe
-
well we just received a purchase a few days ago, I have time today with the kids to open it up and see what surprises we can find.

I really like buying in large lots and the sellers usually give very little descriptions. This is the first time I bought a lot that had a collectors book in it.

So far 4 ships and lots and lots of bags. This should take a few hours, time to keep my mind busy with playmobil and off the politics ;)
(http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc457/Koretsky/954855a7-94fa-4414-b612-6bb33aa85388_zps725ba6af.jpg) (http://s1212.photobucket.com/user/Koretsky/media/954855a7-94fa-4414-b612-6bb33aa85388_zps725ba6af.jpg.html)
-
Wow, that looks like a sizeable haul. I've always wondered what those collector books are like. How do you like that older one? Or do you have any others?
-
I am envious about your excitement. :)
-
I love the picture with one of your kids getting all excited :D
Enjoy unpacking, it looks like a world of fun!! And all seems to be in excellent condition too.
-
Wow! What a load of stuff! :)
Have fun
-
Someday I will have time to sort... Someday. :)
But there is always time to buy
-
Wow!!! That was an amazing and so huge purchase Ras!!! 8} I'm happy for you and it is good you will keep your mind off the problems!! Playmobil is the best medicine! One playmobil the day keeps the doctor away!! And you will keep him away, for many many years!!!!    Have fun with your new additions!! ;)
George. :)

What wouldn't I have given to have a playful Dad like you so young at heart and enthusiastic !

Have not posted in a long time to this tread. Plenty of time to buy, never time to unpack but old age will set in soon enough and there is plenty of time in retirement to play ;)
started buying from a wholesaler and boy have we ended up with way too many arms, this is about half. Never enough treasure but we need some legs now.... you can have too many dog leashes, I can tell you that much ::)

here are all the unopened sets waiting, if it would ever rain in California I could take some time off work and actually play/sort

The boys hoard them more than playmo gold. It's basically the source of all the fighting in our playmo world. ::) I was thinking that if I flooded the world with an abundance of treasure they might ease up on the conflicts. Supply and demand.

Haha, that is great!

Now that sounds intriguing... Maltese perhaps?

Well wouldn't that be the place to go. The weird thing is the amount this person has and why it has a funny moldy dirt on some of it? The seller is not interested in answering any specific questions, just vague answers, oh and that he is a "collector". That's just great, associate yourself with the collecting community, thats what we need to be know for.
Rather than trying to keep track of new theme images on the web perhaps geobra should try a little harder on keeping track of their trucks? Just saying.....very fish...and not the first time
-
I don't think I could wait so long before unpacking, but we do have a lot of rain... Great collection
-
I was drooling over that picture :inlove:
I like your supply and demand strategy! My sisters and I only stopped with the conflicts when we were all past puberty, I'm afraid.

Well now that I am back from a few year hiatus I needed to do some serious catching up.
I did not know whitch tread to post this in

Or

So here are a few old links

So basically I was contacted by St. Playmo-Clause (alias) and a dream come true began to materialize.
I quickly began making preparations for the new addition .
I called a trucking company, who would deliver an 18wheller trailer , I load it, they drive it back to California. Price $8000 ...ouch
I called the train freight company, I load it up on pallets, deliver it to their freight yard , I pick it up at the California freight yard . Price $4000... still ouch
I called Uhaul, and asked for a one way moving truck, I load, I drive home....price $2500....better but I know I can do better.
I then remembered a Formula 1 driver who bought a truck company for advertising, I called... one way truck , 11 days, unlimited miles ...$820...perfect
Now an air line ticket , checked online $550 ...no way
I called my friends mom who is a corporate travel agent for CEO’s .... she found an all nighter for $130... awesome
Now I have a week to prepare.
I looked on local classified ads and found a 5th wheel caravan for free. I brought it home, one of my sons and I gutted it and put in shelves. My wife leaked proofed the roof.
-
So on a Tuesday night I flew out, flew till Wednesday morning. Slept every chance I could on the plane. Unfortunately I misunderstood how many time zones I was traveling through and only got to sleep 1 hour on the first flight and 3 hours on the second .
I arrived 3000 miles away from home at 5 am , had breakfast, took a cab to the truck companies yard and by 7 was driving to my pick up location .
Arrived a beautiful home of a wonderful family. He showed me the loot and I began packing. By 10 am I was ready to hit the road .
I drove from Mid Florida trough Louisiana, through Texas, through New Mexico, through Arizona, cut through part of Nevada and up to Northern California.
I had a severe winter storm moving in on me while I was to pass the mountains so I hauled ass.
I had 3000 miles to cover by myself in a BIG moving truck. I drove until I got tired at around 11 pm, took a 3 hour power nap, got up and drove until the sun was coming up , which made me tired so I took a 1 hour power nap. Then drive till 11 pm again,
3000 miles in 58 hours going the max the truck would go 72/mph and I was the slow one, 18 wheelers do 80 + until California where they only go 55. ( expensive tickets)

Again this was all in one haul , trying to catch up from not getting any sets for a few years . Later I will do detailed pictures on what’s in the haul
-
You are going to be busy with that lot, Ras! ;D
I enjoyed your account of how you got this mammoth load from Florida back to California, such dedication! Good job you don't need much sleep 8}
Is this all new to your collection? What became of the old massive collection, do you still have it?
-

Yes this whole caravan is a new addition that needs sorting. It has so many sets from the early years (the golden era) that really complimented the later year collection that I amassed
I still have every single piece of the collection, never sold/got rid of anything.
The collection now takes up , the upstairs of the barn, a two car garage and three of these caravans/camper trailers .

Trust me, you are very reasonable. Me having room is a .... well dangerous.
11 classic cars , 3 city cars, 3 work trucks, 12 motorcycles, huge motor home, 5 caravans that are being lived in, 4 boats, 10 utility trailers , 5 dogs, 4 cats, 30 chickens, 6 sheep, 20 geese , 18 pigs, 7 turkeys, oh and the playmobil . I am currently working on a deal to get 36 classic American trucks for restoration.
Yes Tahra ....your reasonable and sane
But playmobil brings me the joy, so no downsizing

Wow, I didn't know that was yours! I've watched the public version of that video multiple times in the past! Amazing diorama! I miss having a bigger room, like I used to have, to build bigger dioramas...

Now if only I could convince a few other big collectors, or even smaller collectors, to participate in a joint venture convention in our Greater Bay Area .

Have you checked all the boats, caravans, and trailers? There may already be another PM collector living in there somewhere.

And the 1932 Bentley kit
So my bad it’s 13 classics :-[

I am surprised your not asking about the full sized red knight ;D

Bought an older city house to add to our suburban city diorama, I picked out some nice older klickies for other themes as well that the nice seller threw in

A few weeks ago I was able to quietly grope a surprise bag to locate an unexpected playmo figure. I guess now “no exterme violence” is no longer a moto at Geobra , when do the WWII sets come out ?
He has been given a location in my mobil office away from the other klickies

In the mean time I went train shopping, picked up a complete work train, an incomplete diesel, a nice cattle wagon for our western trains and the all mighty 4052

Nice! I would love to get my hands on some of those old western train sets.
I would highly recommend the old steaming Mary engine, she’s such a beautiful engine to watch . The 4052 is getting ridiculously priced these days. This one I negotiated with the owner for about a month. If you keep a sharp quick eye out you can pick up a Mary pretty reasonably priced. Seeing as it’s very unlikely Geobra will make electric railed trains ever again I feel “the sooner the better”

Picked up a small random lot

I guess I should check what I have before i keep negotiating with people on auction. I tried the other day to negotiate a decent price on the clowns W/ trike .
Also I have been wanting a trapper for over 10 years but was unwilling to pay crazy prices. I doubt Geobra will ever make a foot trap ever again so they just keep getting more rare. Now that I have one I may just 3-D print a few hundred for a proper trappers cabin dio

 The sign (Keep Distance) is a mudflaps from set 3994 Power Truck
-
The light grey part to the SW of that 'keep distance' sign is a stabiliser foot for excavator 3472. The yellow disc with a hole in the centre is PM, I think.
