Thanks so much for this link! Great to see all this up close! I haven't finished watching it yet, but I'm really enjoying it, just saw the part about the mystery packs. I'm really excited about these personally! Now I'll go watch the rest. :munch:

So we really can't know what we're buying...(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/luwerner/gif/hmm-1.gif)

And aren't all those sets, except for the mystery bags, all already available?

true, i didn't understand that part
in fact, i didn't know these sets until they were introduced in this year's German catalog ???
-
The skip truck is now on my want list ;D! Most of these sets are available now aren't they? ???
-
Yeah, most of them. Some have been out a while. But hey, it's ok, here in the US, not so many people know about playmobil, so it's good they're showing off here!
-
We're still waiting for the new dollhouse 5302. And I don't think the secret agent stuff has been released yet, has it?

They are on Playmobil USA, but won't actually be available to buy from the site until August. Same as my dollhouse! We'll just have to manage to pass the time somehow.
-
I can't wait for the dollhouse to come available! :cloud9: I'm definitely getting it! And all the furniture sets, too. I just L-O-V-E the bathroom set that goes with it!!!!

is the bathroom with the lady in the towel? I love that set.
I wonder seriously what's under the towel... I mean how is the clicky designed?
-
:giggle: No, I know what you mean. She's a swimsuit-style klicky, in her underwear. ;) I really love the sink in that bathroom, and the shower, and that everything looks like teak wood.
-
I am thrilled to see those mystery bags! I was just in Target and saw the mystery lego bags and was actually wishing playmobil had he same idea. Lots of very nice klickies there!

What I hate most about them is that there isn't much scope with mixing and matching with most of the figures, at least the boys ones. I mean - the guy in the blue tracksuit, what are you gonna do with that? Are you gonna come up with a knight in tracksuit bottoms and a chef's hat?
It strikes me as odd that PM are marketing this as a creativity thing where children will be able to come up with their own designs BUT have so far failed to come up with any examples themselves as to how the pieces could be mixed and matched in any interesting/fruitful manner. They just show you the individual figures and that's that.
The individual figures are ok I would say (although they ARE a bit boring), but Im really skeptical about the rest.
-
It pitty that we cannot see whats inside each bag... so I'll have to buy one box and one box!!!
Most of these these are already available in greece (not the bags) .
Thank you for posting this link!
-
Thanks for the video...it is amazing that I can see such a great clip getting back to playmofriend!!
-
When do those bags come out? ??? are they available in Germany yet?
-
The first lady deomonstrater didn't know what things were, and was glad to hand over to the second. The second was much better, but I think she was a little dismissive at the end, probably saw other people waiting and wanted to get to them.
Great preview, a few of these figures are out in the US but most are not yet. A lot coming out to think about.
-
I think the Playmobil mystery packs are a good idea, the lego ones are kinda addictive. And with a deft touch you could pick out the different hats, hoods, helmets, etc. I thought the new castles were kinda nice as well.
Thanks for posting the video!

It's going to be a busy August. Are the mystery bags out this month? I'm with Panos, I will buy them by the box! ;D

I think they are trying to reach a very broad market with such a variety of figures. It really will be hard to customize with the available first round parts but hopefully over time we get a lot of interchangeable pieces. Right now I guess you could swap girl/boy pieces but you are right, a rock-star chef is a bit odd.

That was the first thing I noticed. Why do they hire such uninspired staff. I know they are there all day talking about the toys but drink some coffee or something. "Here is a car kids might like" "oh here is, um a robin hood girl or something" come on ladies spice it up a bit, you are trying to sell these to shop owners to move product. Talk it up! not down
-
In which countries are the mystery packs going to be released (apart from the USA, obviously)?
I like some of the figures but I don't know if parents would want to keep buying them just to get a specific figure that their child liked. :-\

Good point, Ras, that next years round might give us better customizing possibilities. Personally, the easy customizing thing, I couldn't care less about, I want the figures just the way they are! I like almost all of them. I hope it will be possible to acquire them all by buying a whole box; if not I really think we should set up a special swapping arrangement, where everytime someone gets a duplicate, they offer it up for trade, so eventually we can all get all of them. Of course they will have to be already open, so we know what they are.
-
Guys, just one thing your not taking into consideration. The klickies will come disassembled, but that does not mean you'll be able to easily take them apart after you assemble them. So far what we know is that the parts used are the same used on regular klickies, and most here know how hard it is to take them apart.
-
Hm, no I don't think so. It may take me a while to find it, but I think it was discussed that they are made a little differently so the heads pop off easily and kids can disassemble them. And that was in a release from geobra, not just conjecture. I'll see if I can find it.
-
Ok, here we go. It isn't a press release, but it's a pic from klickywelt of the inside holder for the head. it looks like it's shaped differently so the head will pop out easily.

That looks EXACTLY the same as a regular torso piece I have in my hand right now. However, the regular piece is white, and that one is brown, ergo it's reasonable to assume it's made from a different kind of plastic that may be more pliable and consequently easier to pull apart.
-
You can't see the difference, Luciano? ??? On a regular one, like the one I have in my hand right now, the part that holds the head has straight edges, so that it hooks the head and holds it in. On this one, the transition is gradual, so that the head would slide out. It's hard to describe, but it's the same principle as the triangular catch on a doorknob that allows you to close it while it is locked, but not to open it.
-
You're right, I see it now!
The regular white one has "sharp" edges, while this brown one has "blunt" edges. I guess that would be enough to keep the head in place but still allow easy disassembly.
If it was up to me, ALL klickies would come like that 8-).
-
I can only say this: Playmobil finally realised that there are people who are willing to collect a lot of their toys, and even customise them... What better way to persuade more people to become collectors/customisers than producing sets that can be collected in quantity and customised in a great variety!
-

Yes, I would love to see this be a permanent change! ;D It's very subtle, and wouldn't cause any problems with mixing and matching, unless the head is different, too, which I don't know, and it would make customizing SOOO much easier!
-
Heads used to pop out easily in the 80s. I was an utter wimp as a child, and yet I could still swap parts without any problem whatsoever.
-
Very nice, as long as the heads don't pop out too easily either.
I woudn't want my armies or shipcrews to be decapitated with each slightest gunfire-induced tremble.... 8} ;D
-
Just thought of something...
As some people have succeeded ordering parts from Specials (no instructions so no parts-numbers included in a set) from their DS-service... and these Mystery Figures come disassembled in their packages,
theoretically it should be possible to....ORDER EVERY SINGLE PART FROM DS??
So not only a hat or a cuff, but also a wig, a head, a pair of arms or legs, etc....!? If one phones DS when in a bought Mystery Pack the legs of the figure are "missing", could you get/buy a spare pair and possibly get to know the part-number? That would be great if it would work.
-
That would certainly be great!!! Unless they see every body part in that bag as one item klicky...
-
That would be great, if that's the case. I was noticing the other day that playmodb has quite a few different kinds of hair inventoried now. I'm going to have to try ordering some. I really need some more non-hat hair.
