When I started thinking about what dress my Countess should wear at Regent St. I had to go to the basis and start searching the web. I thought I would find lots of imagines and photographs. To my surprise I mostly found pics of Victorian dolls.
the thing that always caught my attention about Victorian dresses is the silhouette. Here is a very interesting drawing that I found.

With this in mind I was sure of what I wanted so I focused on the rest of the clicky. Another image that caught my eye was this lady and her sexy bare shoulders. Victorians were sexy....right?

this image doesn't say much but it was reminding me of something! what is the closest I have been to a Victorian lady??? My own great-grandmother of course.
Meet Alina Biouju-Blanchard. isn't she beautiful?

So that was it. I had set up my mind.
For those who didn't see her at Karim's thread. Here is Countess Kristine Marie van der Hess.

Same paste and same technique.
Here she is in different versions. the 100% paymobil, my winter gear custom and the gown custom.

@Luis, I made those parts with a paste I bought at a hobby shop in Buenos Aires. A home made paste... a big mistery soon to be solved! ;)

WOW!!
I was in love with the countess from the very beginning. She is really wonderful!
But I must say, your Grandma is...
What a beautiful and charming lady!
You did avery good job researching the Victorian fashion. I did it, too, because of Karims Garden Party. But I decided to let my lady wear a special dress with a background story.
It´s nearly ready now. So wait and see! ;)

Alina was my mom's grandma :). That picture must be from 1908 or earlier and I think she was 16 in the picture!!! How things change! she looks 40! I would have to check all this with my mom.
It is one of my favorite antiques!

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!
-
Absolutely beautiful! I'm sure your great-grandmother would be very proud  I love the research you did and the fact that you shared it with us :thanks:
-
great customs !! i like them all !! the brown in the middle is my favorite , great style !! the blue one is really near your model !! i have just one critical , i will prefer this model without the glass who seem more after 1900
i miss something : you use what paste ? magic sculpt ? milliput ?
-
Thank Jenna, Jim and Jeremy!
@jeremy, I use a home made paste that I buy at a local Hobby Store. They owner make it himself. He is a master of Plastic Kits scale modeling! :)
-
oh , this paste looks great and maybe more easy to use ?
but nothing can be made without great hands like yours !!! ps my daughter is crasy of the blue one , sure it's more than elegant , we say in france "la grande classe "
