Title: Simple railtank custom
Post by: playmofire on February 13, 2011, 17:27:59
Here's a simple railtank custom I made using the Shell railtank wagon.  I've got two of these, one with no name on and the other with the original sticker but in poor condition.  Both needed cleaning so I peeled the labels off one and then split them down into bits and washed them in warm, soapy water.  Then after reassembling I left them for some weeks intending to buy some large Shell decals until looking through my stickers selection I came across these:

and thought the P & M label might be just the job.  So here is the finished custom:

The flammable liquid and no smoking stickers came from here:

the flammable sticker being cut out from the yelolow stripe.

Thanks, Damo and Panos, here's a shot of the two of them under way with two of the official P & M drop side wagons:

As you may have noticed, the second tankwagon isn't finished yet - the light hasn't been good enough today to cut out the flammable sticker for the end of the taank.

Very nice Playmofire.

Thank you.  The tankwagon nearest the locomotive has a new chassis, so that part of it is new.

I like the decals you've used on these custom RR tankers, Gordon. I have 4 x 7620 that are add ons without the large Shell decals, & these maybe able to be substituted for those to dress them up a little, thanks for showing us this idea.

Damo :)

Thanks, Damo.  I'm very pleased how well they do match as the stickers are not a pure red like the printing on the wagons.
