When last we saw our friend Simral the Elf in December he was searching for a missing Santa-bot.

Unfortunately his search of the Arctic wasn't successful, so he's now had to look farther afield.

"Now where do I go?" he thinks
"Hey buddy, wanna buy a watch?"
"No, I do not want to buy a watch thank you." sigh.

First stop the Police station

"Sorry friend, haven't seen anyone like that since Christmas."

Then the Fire Station

"No, afraid not."

The Hospital
(http://animobil.info/playmo/simral%20in%20seattle/simsea6.jpg)
"Sorry dear, we haven't had any patients like that. Maybe you should try someone more mechanically minded?"
-
(http://animobil.info/playmo/simral%20in%20seattle/simsea7.jpg)
"Excuse me have you seen anyone that looks rather like Santa Claus lately?"
"Sorry buddy, not around here. You might try the Oceanographic station next door, they're more into noticing the unusual.
-
(http://animobil.info/playmo/simral%20in%20seattle/simsea9.jpg)
Hmmm...you might ask Captain Seamus over at the patrol boat. I think he mentioned something like that."
-
(http://animobil.info/playmo/simral%20in%20seattle/simsea10.jpg)
"Well, now that you mention it, I did see someone like that at the market. It seemed a bit odd after the season like this. You might ask the lady at the flower stall."

"Oh my yes, that was an odd man. He was just here earlier and headed farther into the market."
-
(http://animobil.info/playmo/simral%20in%20seattle/simsea13.jpg)
"Excuse me officer, have you seen someone rather like Santa in the market today?"
"Why yes, he just passed by a moment ago, quite odd that. Dangerous character is he?"
"Oh, no no just an...old friend"
-
(http://animobil.info/playmo/simral%20in%20seattle/simsea15.jpg)
"Excuse me, did you just see a man in a red Santa hat come into the Garden Center?"
"Yes, heading towards the compost bins I believe, they're a great buy and it's just the time of year to get started..."

"Pardon me gentlemen, did you see a guy in a Santa hat head into the train yard from the Garden Center?"
"Yes, ought not to be here that fellow. Best round him up lad."

A huge Thank You to Glazz74 for allowing me to make use of his fabulous train layout at the Seattle Train Show this weekend for the photography in this story. I could never have come up with so many great settings so quickly.
I hope you enjoy this episode.
More to come one day...

That was awesome! I had no idea you were doing that! Love it! You got so many up-close views that regular attendies could not replicate I'm sure :D
-
Excellent story and photos, Tim, and a nice ending as it means there's more to come. Great use, too, of Glazz76's wonderful railway setting - you have an eye for scene setting and the dialogue is superb too.
-
I love it when the powers of PM are combined to make something even more AWESOME!!!
Thanks for this wonderfull sequel Tim!
-
I love it!! The cityscapes are amazing and really give an urban feel. Nice work!
-
Way to go, Tim! You did a great job "borrowing" Glazz's train setup to further the Christmas story. I wonder if the Santabot will ever be found? Maybe at the next train show!
-
Excellent idea!!!!

All of the photos were taken inside the ropes, about a third of them from inside the center of the layout. It went really smoothly, except for that one time when I didn't hear the train coming and it crashed into me and derailed. :-[ Fortunately all was well in the end. I did get quite concerned when he couldn't get it started again, but it turned out to be a problem with the remote and not the engine.

Hi
Great story. I like how when you had Simral asking around you could barely see the guy in the Santa suit in the foreground. Was that the old washed up Santa Scotty from El Jefe's department store story? He looked like he fell off the wagon if he ever got on one.
Great story and thanks for sharing :munch:
Rasputin "The Mad Monk"

Hey, who you callin' "washed up". I thought that for a second when he turned around, but Scotty would never wear a tie. As far as being on or off the wagon, I'd say more like ran over by the wagon.
I too enjoyed the sense of intrigue when you could just see the guy in the crowd. The urban vibe was really cool, especially with that many people and locations. Great idea utilizing all the pieces at a convention to shoot a story. ;D

Great story and photos Tim  :wow:  and a good idea to use those settings, giving us a closer look at Glazz's layout.
Looking forward to the next episode
