Title: 5917 take-along police station
Post by: Wolf Knight on December 19, 2010, 21:37:09
Ever since Customiser reported this set I had a feeling I would add it to my collection eventually...

So here it is...

It really looks like a real life small station...  The ingenuity of its design brings it closer to a line of buildings that Hasbo had designed for the Transformers toy line back in the early 90's

So first step (attachment 3) is to remove the helipad, by turning a small button clockwise, which acts as a lid  ;)

Inside the 'station' you will find various police parts and pieces, three klickies (the police officer that actually has four stars on his shoulder insignia -sorry could not take a good picture of them-...a true chief of police  ;D )  a motorbike (with new colours) and stickers to make this station either a US or a Canadian one!

The white side that covered the main entrance to the command centre and the holding cell is now used to support the helipad at the left side of the building (thus creating a parking spot for a patrol car)... the other pieces just slide into place to divide the command centre from the holding cell... and the motor pool for the bike has a ramp that opens and closes like a drawbridge!!!

The command centre is very well equiped, with a main computer, telephone, microphone etc and a board to place the cuffs, keys, shotgun...

The stickers on the wall are a bit tricky to place...my hands did not fit very well in there and i had to be very carefull so as not to stick them wrong...

The holding cell is very poorly equiped...poor perp... not even a toilet for his natural needs... maybe this is a temporary cell for the perp to await quick transfer... I thought of adding a toilet but I have none... attachment 1

Another view of the bike motor pool... attachment 2

and just to show you the surveillance camera and the headlight with the radio antenna on the, supposed, roof! attachment 3

And an overall view attachment 3!!!

The police department thanks you for your patience!!  P)

The 4264 police station has a toilet and sink in the cell, and even has a little toothbrush. That perp doesn't know how good he has it!

Thanks Bonnie! Its a good solution for someone who cannot afford the big police HQ, and its very good with combining the other vehicles!

Thank you for an excellent review, Panos, of an interesting set.  I especially like the board with the hooks etc for storage - a neat idea, literally.

Great Review Sir Wolf!!!

I really like the fact that eventhough they it doesn't come with the Heli or Car it is very natural to include them with this set.

Great review. This is a cool set. If you like the police theme and don't have a lot of space, this set is for you.

I think this set could also be used, with some paint, for wargamers as a military command post.

The way it unfolds and sets up is very creative and an improvement to just using the Carry-All House and putting police stickers on it, like they did with the barn, the vet clinic, Santa's house ...

Ya, that is a good point.

This is truly a nice set. I've read it seemed flimsy, but it looks okay to me. I want that set, if only for the motorcycle!
Nicely equipped station.
