Title: will superglue hold a broken klicky foot?
Post by: cheng on August 24, 2010, 01:24:54
I try to avoid using glue or epoxy on my customs
but will a drop or two of superglue permanently(not for play but at least can withstand a fall from a shelf) hold a broken foot? (both surfaces clean & flat, without 'crevices/ruggedness')  ???

It should, no harm in trying. ???

Yup, if you do it neatly.

Gimli here had leg-shortening surgery followed by superglue treatment, and no sign of his feet falling off yet.

I have a klicky that is glued like that! It was in a castle lot from ebay! He is ok!

I’ve used superglue on about a half-dozen feet for various reasons, and had only ONE fall off (because she was badly packed up for my move from Sacramento), so I submit you’ll be ok.

Superglue does sometimes leave/cause a white "cloud" on the area around the join.

thanks everyone!
I do break my own rules once a while...nothing more justified than to save a pair of legs   :P

Martin, I hope you shortened an otherwise unuseable pair of legs...either way, bless you  ;D

agreed Gordon....so I'll have to use very sparingly and hopefully the cloud is on the narrower shoe 'sholders' and not on the trousers' 'cuffs'

Martin, I really like the small (throwing?) axe!
It is really cool,
Your Gimli figure is awesome too. :)

thanks everyone!

now if anyone else asks the same question....its very well fixed (I dropped one, not purposely...expecting the worst but it was intact still

still dread the thought of glues/epoxies but well, if its unoticeable and forgotten after a while  ;D

these shoes remind me of my daughter's friends who bought 2 pairs of shoes (different coloured) and exchanged one side between them  :P

btw..if youre wondering whether I'm customising anything modern,  ;D these legs will join my ancient koreans
