I think you've been waiting for this for sometime now... ;D ;D ;D Mind you these are not wolf knights... Their armor and bodies are all bronze..except for the arms...no bronze arms in any wolf knight set... :(
I've changed the first attempts a bit, repaces some helmets etc etc... So here are the results
Leader----
(http://img02.imagefra.me/img/img02/8/8/11/baldthar/f_grpn4qmtm_7d98926.jpg) (http://imagefra.me/)
Nope this is not my avatar...He might look like him but he is not...Firstly he has different arm greaves! These are winged ones!
Commander of the army---
(http://img40.imagefra.me/img/img40/8/8/11/baldthar/f_grpn4qn1m_ef4e02a.jpg) (http://imagefra.me/)
Not very imressive but he does his work!!!
Standard Bearer -----
(http://img40.imagefra.me/img/img40/8/8/11/baldthar/f_grpn4qmym_1329091.jpg) (http://imagefra.me/)
I still have no clue as to the coat of arms.... ??? ??? ??? Ideas anyone?
Guardians----
(http://img37.imagefra.me/img/img37/8/8/11/baldthar/f_grpn4qmum_0081ca7.jpg) (http://imagefra.me/)
The eye on the shield representing (as always) the watchfull eye...
Swordsmen----
(http://img40.imagefra.me/img/img40/8/8/11/baldthar/f_grpn4qmvm_6115fe3.jpg) (http://imagefra.me/)
No words are necessary.... ;D ;D ;D
Infantry -----
(http://img02.imagefra.me/img/img02/8/8/11/baldthar/f_grpn4qmwm_8655bbb.jpg) (http://imagefra.me/)
And an overall image of the group (infantry excluded...)
(http://img02.imagefra.me/img/img02/8/8/11/baldthar/f_grpn4qnsm_452b89d.jpg) (http://imagefra.me/)
I still need to make an archer class.... but i have no more bronze body parts...Oh well...time for a visit at the toy shop ;)
Hope you enjoy them!! Feedback and critiques always welcome!!! :) :) :)

Fantastic Panos!     I love them!   I would love to see some pics of them maybe training or going into battle or at least in their castle!
But the are really great! Excellent job Panos! :)9

I like all your customs, especially the lighter armed infantry using the archer's shoulder piece! I hadn't though of doing light infantry but they look just right.
You must have lot of bits left over, do you have a plan for them, or do they go in a big bucket "for later"?
-
This must have been some of the most exciting customs for you to make in a while right?
It sure is a great to see the parts of the Wolf Knights use so expertly.
The one thing I would like to remark is that I always think of the wavy sword as a Unique item. Something that is only uncovered after a long and hard quest with loads of magical powers. I think it is one of the worst looking swords in Playmobil however because I always imagine it as a very powerful magic item I still love them. So using them on your swordmen distracts from that image. Also the sword on the shield is straight!
Apart from that one little thing, they really look powerfull and ready for any task. What will be there assignment/role in your setting?
Keep up the great work Sit Wolf!!
-
Super customs! I really like the bronze. The painting is excellent and so are your pics. Thanks so much for inspiration.

Thanks Baden!! So glad you liked them!!! It will take some time to see them in action... But its a good idea to have their own castle and place them there.... :!: Thanks!!!

Yes Martin the light infantry made good sense to me...after all, these knights should have footsoldiers.
You are right, I have lots of left overs, eight of the little drawers to be exact, mostly shields and horned helmets... but I am planning on building more of those knights so some of them will be used there later.
Still, If you think any of them parts that you could use I will be happy to send them to you!
-
Sure Panos! Feel free to ask for any more ideas! :D

Yes I see you point Gis and I have thought about the same thing about the sword too...
Only problem is, there are no other bronze swords in these sets(and I really wanted all the parts and accessories to be bronze, but since there are no bronze arms and not many bronze weapons the next best colour I thought would be gold and dark grey)...I would be happy to replace them with this sword 30 07 6410 - Sword, guard curves away from handle (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-07-6410) but it does not come at a dark grey colour (does it?) like the double axes...
As for their role....I am still working on that...and you gave me more reason to think harder...Got to live up to your expectations ;) !
Thanks for your valuable feedback Gis!!!

I figured that was your reasoning but I think I have a solution for you...only I am afraid it might not be short term :-(
I know it's not the same sword as the 30 07 6410 - Sword, guard curves away from handle (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-07-6410) but maybe you can settle for a 30 24 7480 - Sword, long, curvy handle (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-24-7480) in dark gray/black that will be released with the new Falcon Knights for instance in set 4872 (http://www.playmobil.de/on/demandware.store/Sites-NL-Site/nl_NL/Product-Show?pid=4872&cgid=Ritter).
Will this be an adequate replacement?
-
UGH I checked all the sets and then realized there was one more....
4873!!! (http://www.playmobil.de/on/demandware.store/Sites-NL-Site/nl_NL/Product-Show?pid=4873&cgid=Ritter)
Now lets take a closer look at the back! (http://playmodb.org//backs/4873_back.jpg)
Two of those 30 07 6410 - Sword, guard curves away from handle you were looking for!
They will sell for 10 Euro's and I will sure to get a couple...I can send yuo some of those swords on loan WK until they are avail in Greece :-)
/me was already excited about the new Knight sets but, having taken a closer look (AGAIN) is bouncing!!!

Thanks Gis!!! Wonderfull news!!! I was expecting one such a a sword for so long now!! And these new knight sets are indeed so great to get!!! I cannot wait for them to arrive here in greece sometime next year!! So I guess, i can be patient for a little while longer!
Thank for bringing them to my attention ;) ;) ;) :yippee: :yippee: :yippee: :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:

The eye on the shield representing (as always) the watchfull eye...
Sir Wolf, as I was browsing the new release (again) and my eye fell on this:
http://www.klickywelt.de/download.php?id=230739
Any chance you will use this silver colored watchfull eye somehow interwoven with the bronze ones?

No, not really. This would be a good idea to make a captain for them. But as their name states, they are bronze knights, and I want all their equipment to be bronze. I doubt these blister packs will make it to the greek market btw.

I figured as much, I though maybe a split of group or somehting!
If you ever need anything that is available in .nl and not for you just let me know and we'll work somehting out :-)

I really like your custom bronze knights a lot, Panos! I think you've done a much better job putting them together than Playmobil did originally! The dark grey weapons make a nice contrast to the bronze armor too.
Let me take the men one by one and give you my suggestions.
First, the leader looks excellent, but I’d give him, not the swordsmen, the big bronze wavy sword and take away his gladius and replace it with a dark grey dagger. The big dog should have the big sword!
I like the commander, but is he really necessary? I feel that he looks outranked by the guardians and possibly even the swordsmen. I would consider getting rid of him and give his shield to the standard bearer and his helmet to the swordsmen.
The standard bearer looks perfect, although I would give him the commander’s shield. I love your custom creation of the standard pole and the vertical all black standard!
The guardians are perfect as is, but I think they look mightier than the commander.
The swordsmen look great, but I think the big wavy sword should go to the commander. I realize your problem of not having enough dark grey swords, but Gis’ suggestion of the diamond hilted dark grey sword would remedy this. If you can’t get a hold of enough of those swords, what about using the standard bearer’s dark grey sword and giving him the leader’s dark grey gladius? Also, if you eliminate the commander, giving the swordsmen his helmet could work well and then give the infantry the swordsmen’s current helmets.
I really like the infantry as is, but if you changed the swordsmen’s helmets to the commander’s helmet, I’d give the infantry the swordsmen’s current helmets.
These are really just minor suggestions, Panos, because I really think your men all look really great as they are! :)
-
Thank you so much for all your suggestions Justin!!! The wavy sword goes to the leader! Good thinking about the shield and helmet of the commander, and true, he is not necessary! Lets take him off the piscture!!
So, if we rearange them parts we'll have the following results...
(http://img38.imagefra.me/img/img38/8/8/14/baldthar/f_grpn4qr4m_e25b306.jpg) (http://imagefra.me/)
sorry the pic is a little fuzzy...
I'll need to wait for the new castle sets to be released in the greek market and get the dark swords...
I am not sure about the swordsmen helmet going to the infantry though.. I placed both options next to each other to give you another visual idea...
These were indeed really fun to make!! Great potential this colour on the klickies has!!!
Any ideas what to put on the banner???
-
They look great, Panos! I like the changes to the leader, standard bearer, and swordsmen, once you get the dark grey swords, very much!
I have mixed feelings about the infantry helmets. The helmet you originally had on them make them look more like traditional infantry peons. If there were vast quantities of them compared to the more elite swordsmen and guardians, I think the use of this helmet would be fine. If, however, there are the same number as there are guardians and swordsmen, then the new helmet increases their status, yet still puts them beneath the swordsmen, and makes them look a bit more fierce and menacing. I think it really depends on what you're going for.

I was hoping to go for large quantitites on the infantry, thats why the first, less grandeur, helmet selection...

I think Justindo's suggestions work very well :-)
Any ideas what to put on the banner???
It really depends on their "function". First thing that springs to mind is somehow using a hammer. As they look like a force of destruction, that will batter down any opposition?
Thats just my point of view of course ;)

Good suggestion Gis.... I like the hammer... Still, i have not decided on their role... have to think about it a bit more...

Amazing Knights Sir Wolf!!! ;D ;D ;D :o :o :o ;D ;D ;D 8}
They are great! I looooove the infantry!
They are really good looking and cant wait to face off against them in our big war! >:D

Maybe you could make a second inf. class where you use the Pavise shields and spears.
And the infantry you have now could have swords or maces. ???

I'll be using the pavise shield for crossbowmen later on Warrior!!!

I'll be using the pavise shield for crossbowmen later on Warrior!!!
Good idea, but only if you are using crossbows.
If you are using the short-bows like the ones the Knights come with
Then they wont be as effective as they could be.
For short-bows give them a small shield like: A Buckler (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30%2007%203200)
Here is what mine will look like eventually:
You can see my cross bow me have the pavise as they would have had in period,
But my short-bow men couldn't hold a shield like that and shoot at the same time.
(Unlike crossbow-men who only need 1 hand to shoot.)
The buckler they can hold with only 2 or 3 fingers, so they could hook it around their hand while shooting, or tie it on their belts.
-
These are all looking great!
-
I agree with Wesley Myers! :yup:

Thank you Emma!! So glad you enjoyed them!!
Yes I did thought of using paint for them. Having done so in the past though, I also thought of changing klickies and accessories many times again and again, so it would be pity if I did not like the result and have to start unpainting the various items in order to use them somewhere else....
-
Great points there warrior!!! I was not intending on using any other bow except of a crossbow ;) !
Yes, your archers definitely should use crossbows, as regular bows just won't do for these tough guys!

Yes...Tough indeed ;) I still need to work on the archer...
-
Great customs!! The one that became your new avatar is my favourite one
I'm awaiting a package with some of the bronze parts to finish my own "bronze knight", to go along with my "anthracit Hell's Knights". ;)
-
Thanks Erwin! Although I did a lot of them, I do not consider this project closed yet... I have a few more ideas that I want to experiment so time will tell...
-
Excellent customs using all Playmobil parts! Great color combos! :)9 I can't wait to see more!

Very fearsome customs . They look indeed very pursposeful and the choice of armour matched their weapons, i really like the combos. May you have 100 of each type Sire !!!

sorry i forget to answer you , i believe i have done it fews days ago ... very good figures ! when i look all theses knight , i think they are made to to be broken : it's as if playmobil want us to buy the 5 to few good with all the part in bronze , for me the antracites pieces doesn't fit well with the bronze !
-
Thank you for your feedback Jeremy! I feel exactly the same! Get all six klickies to make a complete bronze one... only problem is, none of them have bronze arms... what colour would you propose instead of dark grey (anthrax)? the gold one workes better I think...
-
i think you choose the best arms , for me black is good too but there's not so many possibility .... it's sad we don't have theses arms in bronze ....
-
Its interesting for myself to come back to this... I've made some changes and I think I'll stick with them, but let me say that these initial ideas have evolved and altered... Actually Gis wrote in one of is replies here about the silver shields that are same to the bronze ones... that got me thinking...

Panos,
I've been experimenting a bit with a few bronze knights too. I've turned one into an "evil museum knight" (who comes alive between 12 pm and 1 am :omg:), so he should have non-skincolour hands. He is equipped with a round black shield with a bronze circle in the middle, and a black feather on his helmet, plus a black sword. For his arms I have tried the gold and anthracite, but I find that complete black ones (with black hands!) work best when the outsides are covered with armor. ;)
The black arms with black hands come from the mysterious Temple's Guard-klickies in the Treasure Hunter's theme, though I'm not sure if they both have such arms (at least one, but I'm not sure which):
http://www.playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=4842&pics=on
When a bronze knight should have bronze armour on his arms, but if the hands should be skin-coloured, I came to the conclusion (imho) that neither gold or anthracite work best, but a very dark brown. To be more specific, darkbrown-arms like the ones of this knight:
http://collectobil.com/catalogue/items/3890.htm
Thought I'd let you know, in case you want to try it out. :)
-
Erwin, these are some really good ideas!! :picsplz: of your ''evil museum knight'' ;D
I never thought of the brown colour, I have a couple of arm pairs left from my Bridgeburners, I'll experiment a bit... although I'd hate to go looking for more brown arms... not very easy to come by 8}
The black arms are also a good idea... However I remember trying them but they did not look right...Again not easy to come buy... I may have a few, I'll do some digging... as for the temple guardian klicky, far too expensive to get from DS only for his arms...
For the time being, and after a lot of experimentation, I ended up with the following three patterns...
Anthracite works very well for torso and arms, and allows for more klickies to be build out of the bronze parts!!! Only trouble is, anthracite arms are also hard to come by  :hissyfit:
Gold is not too bad either...
I have two more designs on my mind but not enough parts to start building them... Everything I had went into building troops based on the three above designs...
-
Those are cool, but does the bronze (or the silver or any other "shiny" colours) wear off the parts ever? I have a silver knight and a blue one from the Series figures, and I am always really careful with them for fear of this. I might want to get some of these bronze ones sometime too...
-
Yes, the chrome on the old knights does wear off with extensive playing, oily fingers, dust, extensive exposure to sunligt and such...... The bronze on these guys also wears off, in some cases easier than others.
-
Hmm, that isn't so great. Maybe I'll stay with the dull silver/grey armours. Thanks.
-
:picsplz: of your ''evil museum knight'' ;D
He looks very close to yours in the middle of the pic you posted, the one with the horns.
I gave him a white ghost-face with red eyes, and therefore I equpped his helmet with the long pointy visor, so that the face is almost not visible when the visor is closed. He also got the anthracite arms & hands. Anothe option for him is to equip him with darkgrey arms with white hands, that came with the same ghost-special I used the face from (don't know the set-N° from memory, but it is the ghost with the black hood & cape).
I'll try to take a pic later this week. :)
My 2nd "full armoured" bronze knight got a normal klicky-face, and him I gave the darkbrown arms with normal skin-coloured hands that I mentioned.
I'll take a pic from him too.
