Site foreman points out to John and Andy where the gap in the railings needs to be, so access can be gained to the site
(http://img686.imageshack.us/img686/2361/200911020005.jpg) (http://img686.imageshack.us/i/200911020005.jpg/)
John and Andy carefully unload the mini digger, whilst Site foreman studies the job notes

Andy slamms the bucket down the join of the railings, shattering the joining bolts
(http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/6136/200911020007.jpg) (http://img684.imageshack.us/i/200911020007.jpg/)
The mangled railling sections are dragged aside to create a clear access route, Site foreman radios in for the first delivery.

With John riding in the back, they head off down the hill. Site foreman calls for more resources.
(http://img821.imageshack.us/img821/5571/200911020011.jpg) (http://img821.imageshack.us/i/200911020011.jpg/)
They arrive at the site

John and Andy unhitch the conveyor, and unload the equipment to leave down here for use later
(http://img823.imageshack.us/img823/4235/200911020014.jpg) (http://img823.imageshack.us/i/200911020014.jpg/)

They arrive just in time, as the mobile crane and crew are just arriving
(http://img821.imageshack.us/img821/1483/200911020016.jpg) (http://img821.imageshack.us/i/200911020016.jpg/)

Great story sofar. Great pics.
-
Great story sofar. Great pics.
I fully agree Ali Baba, anxiously awaiting the rest.
-
Like the others, I'm waiting with baited breath! And these wonderful construction stories and photos of yours are making the construction theme an increasing danger for me!
(I have some of the red warning balls for the front bumper of the Unimog if you want one.)
-
Damo you have manage to make all the modern themes and sets more appeailing to me through your photostories!!! Well done!!! Keep them coming!!!
-
Excellent story so far Damo!!! Great pictures and details! :wow: :wow:
Baden
-
Awosme!

Site foreman moves his truck, so that the crane can set up in it's place. John carefull ysees them back
(http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/5598/200911020017.jpg) (http://img526.imageshack.us/i/200911020017.jpg/)
The crane crew are set up just in time for the arrival of the first delivery - a container which contains equipment and materials, and can be used for secure storage
(http://img683.imageshack.us/img683/7527/200911020019.jpg) (http://img683.imageshack.us/i/200911020019.jpg/)
John sees the truck back into a suitable position of unloading. A yard area is to be created up here, at the top of the hill.
(http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/3936/200911020020.jpg) (http://img687.imageshack.us/i/200911020020.jpg/)
With the wheels of the trailer chokked, the crane crew can secure the load
(http://img693.imageshack.us/img693/6563/200911020022.jpg) (http://img693.imageshack.us/i/200911020022.jpg/)
The heavy metal hooks often need a little pursuasion with a hammer to make them locate
(http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/7990/200911020021.jpg) (http://img717.imageshack.us/i/200911020021.jpg/)
With the load secure, the container is lifted high into the air, and is bought down to where it is to be placed. John, Andy, and a member of the crane crew help to manouver the container down into the right position
(http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/8990/200911020023.jpg) (http://img526.imageshack.us/i/200911020023.jpg/)
The container is unloaded safely, and just in time, as a second one arrives
(http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/2002/200911020025.jpg) (http://img338.imageshack.us/i/200911020025.jpg/)
-
Owwwwwww, what's inside these contaiers???
Great new installment, Damo.
-
The second container is also unloaded safely and in the correct place
(http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/5751/200911020026.jpg) (http://img709.imageshack.us/i/200911020026.jpg/)
Site manager has arrived to meet with Site foreman to check over proceedings, and to hand over the site office building to site foreman
(http://img693.imageshack.us/img693/5522/200911020027.jpg) (http://img693.imageshack.us/i/200911020027.jpg/)
The rear wheels are chokked, and the crane crew climb abord and carry out the usual procedure. The load is ready for winching.
(http://img710.imageshack.us/img710/3664/200911020028.jpg) (http://img710.imageshack.us/i/200911020028.jpg/)
The crane operator pulls the levers back, raising the container, but suddenly,
The front right outrigger fails, and the whole unit collapses forward, throwing the operator out
(http://img693.imageshack.us/img693/9578/200911020029.jpg) (http://img693.imageshack.us/i/200911020029.jpg/)
The workers on the ground leap back in sudden fright!
(http://img693.imageshack.us/img693/9954/200911020031.jpg) (http://img693.imageshack.us/i/200911020031.jpg/)
Oh no! A crane crew mamber is trapped under the fallen container
(http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/1309/200911020030.jpg) (http://img717.imageshack.us/i/200911020030.jpg/)
-
Owwwwwww, what's inside these contaiers???
Great new installment, Damo.
Nothing too exciting - cement, timber etc :)

The emergency services are called
The dizzy and delirious crane operator is helped down from the vehicle
(http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/9083/200911030001.jpg) (http://img149.imageshack.us/i/200911030001.jpg/)
John is also helped up after his small trip. Luckily he is not hurt
(http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/1922/200911030002.jpg) (http://img33.imageshack.us/i/200911030002.jpg/)
Units LF8 and pumper 1 arrive, along with the fire cheif
(http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/8408/200911030003.jpg) (http://img36.imageshack.us/i/200911030003.jpg/)
Unusually for a building site, a sense of ergency fills the air, as fire crews rush to the trapped worker
(http://img641.imageshack.us/img641/3088/200911030004.jpg) (http://img641.imageshack.us/i/200911030004.jpg/)
They acess the trapped worker, and decide that it is just too dangerous to try and pull him out as it is
(http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/7467/200911030005.jpg) (http://img15.imageshack.us/i/200911030005.jpg/)
Meanwhile, the LF8 crew takle the leaning crane
(http://img683.imageshack.us/img683/8279/200911030006.jpg) (http://img683.imageshack.us/i/200911030006.jpg/)
-
Still dizzy and disorientated, the crane operator fumbles about amously
(http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/8711/200911030007.jpg) (http://img36.imageshack.us/i/200911030007.jpg/)
The ambulance arrives
(http://img541.imageshack.us/img541/5405/200911030008.jpg) (http://img541.imageshack.us/i/200911030008.jpg/)
And the paramedics race to the trapped worker
(http://img683.imageshack.us/img683/4785/200911030009.jpg) (http://img683.imageshack.us/i/200911030009.jpg/)
They comfort the man, and talk medical speak to him, whilst a plan to free him is thought up
(http://img683.imageshack.us/img683/8697/200911030010.jpg) (http://img683.imageshack.us/i/200911030010.jpg/)
-
Rather inconveniently, the next delivery arrives
(http://img683.imageshack.us/img683/2519/200911030011.jpg) (http://img683.imageshack.us/i/200911030011.jpg/)
But the fire cheif sees the solution to the problem
(http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/9854/200911030012.jpg) (http://img517.imageshack.us/i/200911030012.jpg/)
And with that, the delivery driver quickly unloads it and drives it round
(http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/7581/200911030014.jpg) (http://img517.imageshack.us/i/200911030014.jpg/)
Careful not to nudge the container, he slowly drives the forklift under the base of the container
(http://img710.imageshack.us/img710/7558/200911030015.jpg) (http://img710.imageshack.us/i/200911030015.jpg/)
The site office is slowly lifted into the air, as the rescue crews dive under to get the worker out and onto the stretcher
(http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/1352/200911030016.jpg) (http://img535.imageshack.us/i/200911030016.jpg/)
The injured crane worker is loaded into the back of the ambulance and rushed off to hospital
(http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/4610/200911030017.jpg) (http://img202.imageshack.us/i/200911030017.jpg/)
As the delivery driver unloads the dumper truck, attention is now focused on the leaning crane
(http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/2403/200911030018.jpg) (http://img517.imageshack.us/i/200911030018.jpg/)
-
Pumper 1 and the fire chief get called to a barn fire up the road, so leave LF8 to continue with the operation
They discuss with the 2 remaining crane crew what they think wen't wrong, and discuss possible solutions
(http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/8265/200911030019.jpg) (http://img692.imageshack.us/i/200911030019.jpg/)
Just then, the next delivery arrives
(http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/2060/200911030020.jpg) (http://img687.imageshack.us/i/200911030020.jpg/)
This time, Site foreman sees the soution to the problem, but not the crane problem ;)
(http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/6562/200911030021.jpg) (http://img717.imageshack.us/i/200911030021.jpg/)
Site manager decides he has seen enough and leaves, whilst the driver carefully navigates the huge rig through the parked vehicles and into the recently formed yard.
(http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/8722/200911030023.jpg) (http://img706.imageshack.us/i/200911030023.jpg/)
The portaloos are light so they can be lifted off by hand. Site forman signs for the delivery.
(http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/7341/200911030022.jpg) (http://img684.imageshack.us/i/200911030022.jpg/)
The temporary fencing is put up around the yard to keep children out, and the workmen in ;)
(http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/3770/200911030024.jpg) (http://img706.imageshack.us/i/200911030024.jpg/)
-
Another delivery arrives, along with the solution to the problem
(http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/4950/200911030025.jpg) (http://img52.imageshack.us/i/200911030025.jpg/)
No time is wasted in firing up the old girl. A plume of black smoke bellows out from the exhaust as he opens up the throttle
(http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/181/200911030026.jpg) (http://img692.imageshack.us/i/200911030026.jpg/)
The bulldozer is skillfully manuevoured into position under the failed outrigger arm. The old diesel engine roars with a large plume of black smoke, as the crane returns to a level position.
(http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/2282/200911030027.jpg) (http://img85.imageshack.us/i/200911030027.jpg/)
At the groaning of the bulldozer's joints, the crane operator swiftly manouvers the container off the railing, and onto solid ground at last!
(http://img697.imageshack.us/img697/5408/200911030028.jpg) (http://img697.imageshack.us/i/200911030028.jpg/)
Success!
The LF8 and it's crew leave for home, as a job well done
(http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/5168/200911030029.jpg) (http://img526.imageshack.us/i/200911030029.jpg/)
-
Andy brings in the fresh water bowser, as everyone starts to pack up
(http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/3136/200911030030.jpg) (http://img411.imageshack.us/i/200911030030.jpg/)
The truck and crane leave for home, and John brings in the bulldozer, ready to go home after a long and eventful first day
(http://img294.imageshack.us/img294/5293/200911030031.jpg) (http://img294.imageshack.us/i/200911030031.jpg/)

I hope you enjoyed the first half

-
Great story, Damo. You really keep the story rolling and there are some excellent poses of klickies in the photos which reflect the action beautifully.
-
Once again, a great story Damo, :wow: it must have taken you ages to set everything up.
I must admit that when the fresh water came they would all have stayed around for a cup of tea.
Looking forward to part 2.
Elaine
-
Absolutely superb story, set up and photography
I really felt I was a Klicky all along !
Karim :)

Thanks for your kind comments everyone!
Part two is part shot, and I aim to get it on in the next few days :)
Damo :)
-
Sorry for the long delay - I have had the pics for ages but have not had time to put them on 8}
Dawn breaks, as the peaceful countryside breaks to engine noise in the distance
(http://a.imageshack.us/img291/5130/200911090028.jpg) (http://img291.imageshack.us/i/200911090028.jpg/)
In rolls site foreman, followed closely by John and Andy in the Unimog
(http://a.imageshack.us/img580/1553/200911090030.jpg) (http://img580.imageshack.us/i/200911090030.jpg/)
Site foreman unlocks, whilst John checks today's schedule
(http://a.imageshack.us/img838/5707/200911090031.jpg) (http://img838.imageshack.us/i/200911090031.jpg/)
Just then, a DHL van pulls up outside
(http://a.imageshack.us/img717/6679/200911090032.jpg) (http://img717.imageshack.us/i/200911090032.jpg/)
Andy struggles with the large and bulky package, whilst John starts guessing what it could be. Site foreman signs for the parcel.
(http://a.imageshack.us/img838/4761/200911090033.jpg) (http://img838.imageshack.us/i/200911090033.jpg/)
-
Andy opens up the box with excitement
The parcel is from Gordon, and it is a replacement pole for the front of the Unimog!
(http://a.imageshack.us/img832/97/200911090034.jpg) (http://img832.imageshack.us/i/200911090034.jpg/)
John wastes no time in getting the old briken one off, and fixing the new, shiny one.
It is a perfect match!
(http://a.imageshack.us/img405/8956/200911090035.jpg) (http://img405.imageshack.us/i/200911090035.jpg/)
And with that, Andy and John head down to the worksite to begin the hard days work, just as a skip arrives.
(http://a.imageshack.us/img842/3223/200911090036.jpg) (http://img842.imageshack.us/i/200911090036.jpg/)
The skip truck is a brand new state of the art machine, with high tech controls in the cab, with no need for the driver to get out.
(http://a.imageshack.us/img405/3403/200911090037.jpg) (http://img405.imageshack.us/i/200911090037.jpg/)
The empty skip lorry leaves, as site foreman goes inside the warm site hut to make himself a cup of tea
(http://a.imageshack.us/img831/2712/200911090038.jpg) (http://img831.imageshack.us/i/200911090038.jpg/)

John studies the site once more, whilst Andy struggles with the tools
(http://a.imageshack.us/img831/1769/200911090039.jpg) (http://img831.imageshack.us/i/200911090039.jpg/)
Meanwhile, Bob, Avie and Flatcat arrive with the big toys
(http://a.imageshack.us/img825/1513/200911090040.jpg) (http://img825.imageshack.us/i/200911090040.jpg/)
There is no-one to meet them, so they power straight through and off down the hill
(http://a.imageshack.us/img822/3137/200911090041.jpg) (http://img822.imageshack.us/i/200911090041.jpg/)
They pull to an abrumpt halt, but the low loader trailer has other ideas!
(http://a.imageshack.us/img833/2156/200911090043.jpg) (http://img833.imageshack.us/i/200911090043.jpg/)
The trailer goes hurtling down the hill and splash into the water
(http://a.imageshack.us/img822/7783/200911090044.jpg) (http://img822.imageshack.us/i/200911090044.jpg/)
Oh no! In all the excitement, Avie falls into a large hill crevis!
(http://a.imageshack.us/img716/9828/200911090045.jpg) (http://img716.imageshack.us/i/200911090045.jpg/)
Luckily, evryone is close by, so they rush to help him. They suspect injury so they call for an ambulance.
(http://a.imageshack.us/img822/1342/200911090046.jpg) (http://img822.imageshack.us/i/200911090046.jpg/)

B-W
-
Fantastic way for the Unimog pole to arrive!!! Well planned and executed Damo!! Well done!!!
-
Love it Damo, I am curious what other cars will be driving by in the background. Can we make bets??
The DHL delivery was priceless.
PS Thanks for waiting with continuing the story until I was back from holiday *wink*

Andy manages to drive the digger off of the low loader, but the trailer will need winching out
(http://a.imageshack.us/img507/5488/200911090047.jpg) (http://img507.imageshack.us/i/200911090047.jpg/)
A siren can be heard in the distance...
The ambulance roars through the site yard at speed, unaware of the steep, muddy hill
(http://a.imageshack.us/img580/6492/200911090048.jpg) (http://img580.imageshack.us/i/200911090048.jpg/)
They were also unaware of Andy merrily backing up the large digger, and violently swerve to avoid crashing
(http://a.imageshack.us/img337/1210/200911090049.jpg) (http://img337.imageshack.us/i/200911090049.jpg/)
The driver cannot control the vehicle, as it slides on the slippery mud
(http://a.imageshack.us/img820/3001/200911090050.jpg) (http://img820.imageshack.us/i/200911090050.jpg/)
The ambulance goes crashing down the hill, debris going everywhere
(http://a.imageshack.us/img825/862/200911090051.jpg) (http://img825.imageshack.us/i/200911090051.jpg/)
Splash it lands in the deep icy cold river
(http://a.imageshack.us/img261/4162/200911090052.jpg) (http://img261.imageshack.us/i/200911090052.jpg/)
and slowly sinks
(http://a.imageshack.us/img507/1381/200911090053.jpg) (http://img507.imageshack.us/i/200911090053.jpg/)

The crew rush to the wet and cold paramedics, who manage to get themselves to the river bank
(http://a.imageshack.us/img825/8473/200912140001.jpg) (http://img825.imageshack.us/i/200912140001.jpg/)
Avie had already phoned for an ambulance, and the local hospital sent their back up van. Old but reliable
(http://a.imageshack.us/img832/9539/200912140003.jpg) (http://img832.imageshack.us/i/200912140003.jpg/)
The wet paramedics are loaded in, and Avie is also checked over. He is ok, with no injuries
The ambulance heads of to hospital
(http://a.imageshack.us/img832/3810/200912140004.jpg) (http://img832.imageshack.us/i/200912140004.jpg/)
Andy fetches the bulldozer down from the work yard, to pull out the ambulance, as it will cause a nuisance for boaters and is an environmental hazard
(http://a.imageshack.us/img825/205/200912140005.jpg) (http://img825.imageshack.us/i/200912140005.jpg/)

Love it Damo, I am curious what other cars will be driving by in the background. Can we make bets??
By all means ;)
Damo :)

John removes the ripper from the rear of the bulldozer, swapping it for the Unimog's winch.
The bulldozer will have more strength and a better hold on the mud with it's tracks than the Unimog would
(http://a.imageshack.us/img835/17/200912140006.jpg) (http://img835.imageshack.us/i/200912140006.jpg/)
Andy backs the bulldozer up within safe distance of the waters edge, as John ponders how he is going to attach the hook ???
(http://a.imageshack.us/img838/5746/200912140008.jpg) (http://img838.imageshack.us/i/200912140008.jpg/)
Brave Flatcat volunteers to swim out to the wreckage, and affix the hook
(http://a.imageshack.us/img832/7587/200912140009.jpg) (http://img832.imageshack.us/i/200912140009.jpg/)
Job done. Andy pulls the lever in the cab to start winching
(http://a.imageshack.us/img405/9121/200912140010.jpg) (http://img405.imageshack.us/i/200912140010.jpg/)
Out she comes! Andy will have to pull the ambulance out the rest of the way as the winch is not powerful enough to haul the huge vehicle up the last bit
(http://a.imageshack.us/img823/4113/200912140012.jpg) (http://img823.imageshack.us/i/200912140012.jpg/)
He climbs aboard. A plume of black smoke rises out of the exhaust as he lays down the power
(http://a.imageshack.us/img838/3823/200912140013.jpg) (http://img838.imageshack.us/i/200912140013.jpg/)
He tows the ambulance up to the road for the authorities to take away
(http://a.imageshack.us/img832/5172/200912140014.jpg) (http://img832.imageshack.us/i/200912140014.jpg/)

John, Avie and Flatcat go over to see what Bob is doing.
He is carrying out maintenance on the big digger. He is oiling all the pins and moving parts from where it had gone into the water, and also checking for damage.
(http://a.imageshack.us/img508/9737/200912140015.jpg) (http://img508.imageshack.us/i/200912140015.jpg/)
Whilst they are watching Bob, Andy arrives back from dropping of the ambulance, to try and shift the low loader
(http://a.imageshack.us/img508/306/200912140017.jpg) (http://img508.imageshack.us/i/200912140017.jpg/)
once again, Andy backs up the bulldozer for pulling out. Flatcat gives the nod when the hook is to his liking
(http://a.imageshack.us/img835/2210/200912140018.jpg) (http://img835.imageshack.us/i/200912140018.jpg/)
Andy puts pedal to the plastic floor liner, and the bulldozer slowly inches forward, followed by the trailer
(http://a.imageshack.us/img838/6482/200912140020.jpg) (http://img838.imageshack.us/i/200912140020.jpg/)
Now that the trailer is out the way, work can finally commence.
Andy fires up the big digger, and moves it cautiously into position
(http://a.imageshack.us/img265/8210/200912140021.jpg) (http://img265.imageshack.us/i/200912140021.jpg/)
The first clods of soil are removed
(http://a.imageshack.us/img715/3360/200912140022.jpg) (http://img715.imageshack.us/i/200912140022.jpg/)

Whilst Andy is playing in the big digger, John and Bob set up the conveyor belt. Avie and Flatcat walk up to the site yard to get the dumper truck.
(http://a.imageshack.us/img823/5272/200912140023.jpg) (http://img823.imageshack.us/i/200912140023.jpg/)
The dumper truck will take the excavation material up to the skip in the site yard, as there won't be too much of it
(http://a.imageshack.us/img265/1206/200912140024.jpg) (http://img265.imageshack.us/i/200912140024.jpg/)
After a couple of trips, the last bucket of earth is going up the conveyor, and now construction of the jetty can begin
(http://a.imageshack.us/img715/9616/200912140025.jpg) (http://img715.imageshack.us/i/200912140025.jpg/)

The 5th wheel dolly is unhitched from the newer, orange Unimog, and the crew set off up to the site yard to collect timber for the carpenter when he arrives
(http://a.imageshack.us/img823/3457/200912140026.jpg) (http://img823.imageshack.us/i/200912140026.jpg/)
They unlock the first container which holds all the timber needed to construct the jetty
(http://a.imageshack.us/img833/7605/200912140027.jpg) (http://img833.imageshack.us/i/200912140027.jpg/)
It is tiring work, loading the wood by hand
(http://a.imageshack.us/img838/2060/200912140028.jpg) (http://img838.imageshack.us/i/200912140028.jpg/)
Luckily for them, Lizzie has been baking today, and brings sweet smelling pastries for everyone
(http://a.imageshack.us/img838/4200/200912140029.jpg) (http://img838.imageshack.us/i/200912140029.jpg/)
They are like a pack of wolves around the food, as they are very hungry workers
(http://a.imageshack.us/img265/6782/200912140030.jpg) (http://img265.imageshack.us/i/200912140030.jpg/)

They all climb aboard, while John locks the container
(http://a.imageshack.us/img821/2820/200912140031.jpg) (http://img821.imageshack.us/i/200912140031.jpg/)
As they are unloading the wood, Ian the carpenter arrives
(http://a.imageshack.us/img826/1558/200912140032.jpg) (http://img826.imageshack.us/i/200912140032.jpg/)
Within a couple of minutes, Ian has his tools out and his saw horses set up, making a start on the wood
He hasn't even seen the plans!
(http://a.imageshack.us/img594/421/200912140033.jpg) (http://img594.imageshack.us/i/200912140033.jpg/)
Bemused faces watch him work
(http://a.imageshack.us/img826/8003/200912140034.jpg) (http://img826.imageshack.us/i/200912140034.jpg/)
Within the next 10 minuites, two of the three jetty sides have been built
(http://a.imageshack.us/img841/4490/200912140035.jpg) (http://img841.imageshack.us/i/200912140035.jpg/)
Bemused faces watch him work
Blimey, this guy works fast!
(http://a.imageshack.us/img440/7619/200912140036.jpg) (http://img440.imageshack.us/i/200912140036.jpg/)
Within half an hour, all the jetty pieces have been skillfully crafted. The crew can't believe their eyes, as they inspect the workmanship
(http://a.imageshack.us/img838/4593/200912140037.jpg) (http://img838.imageshack.us/i/200912140037.jpg/)

In no time at all, the jetty wall is complete
(http://a.imageshack.us/img826/4701/200912140038.jpg) (http://img826.imageshack.us/i/200912140038.jpg/)
The crew say there thanks, and wave Ian goodbye
(http://a.imageshack.us/img594/451/200912140040.jpg) (http://img594.imageshack.us/i/200912140040.jpg/)
Not long after Ian's departure, a delivery of pre-fabricated floor sections arrive on the back of the flatbed
(http://a.imageshack.us/img838/3308/200912140073.jpg) (http://img838.imageshack.us/i/200912140073.jpg/)
The lorry reverses down the hill into a suitable position for unloading by the crane, which has just arrived
(http://a.imageshack.us/img826/4321/200912140041.jpg) (http://img826.imageshack.us/i/200912140041.jpg/)
Avie and Andy move the Unimogs, as this is the most levelest part of the site that the crane can set up
(http://a.imageshack.us/img841/7811/200912140042.jpg) (http://img841.imageshack.us/i/200912140042.jpg/)
In no time at all, the crane is set up, one crew member down :(
(http://a.imageshack.us/img821/6117/200912140043.jpg) (http://img821.imageshack.us/i/200912140043.jpg/)
The floor sections are moved effortlessly by the crane
(http://a.imageshack.us/img826/8616/200912140044.jpg) (http://img826.imageshack.us/i/200912140044.jpg/)
With the flooring complete, everyone comes for a jump on it to see if it's strong

A great continuation to your story, Damo! Truly excellent!
:wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow:
Yoiu bring so many different facets into the story so well - the DHL delivery of the spare part for the old Unimog (glad to have been able to help there), the accident and the ambulance (wonderful way of showing the ambulance had sunk), the written detail of the column of black exhaust smoke from the bulldozer, Lizzie bringing the cakes are just some excellent inserts to the main story. Plus, that fifth wheel dolly is sooooo Unimog, it could have been made by Playmobil for it.
-
That's a great continuation to your story Damo! Its amazing! :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow:
So many details! And great pics too!
B-W

Fantastic Damo!!! Simply fantastic!!! So many aspects, so well executed!!!

Following the flatbed back up the hill, the crew go to get more supplies for the next stage of the build
(http://a.imageshack.us/img801/5120/200912140046.jpg) (http://img801.imageshack.us/i/200912140046.jpg/)
This load consists of all the equipment and materials needed to make the concrete base for the pumps
(http://a.imageshack.us/img840/2180/200912140047.jpg) (http://img840.imageshack.us/i/200912140047.jpg/)
John and Andy load the concrete saw, whilst Bob, Avie and Flatcat sort out the cement mixer
(http://a.imageshack.us/img413/9140/200912140048.jpg) (http://img413.imageshack.us/i/200912140048.jpg/)
Off they head back down the hill
(http://a.imageshack.us/img844/6084/200912140049.jpg) (http://img844.imageshack.us/i/200912140049.jpg/)
Bob, Avie and Flatcat start mixing up some concrete, whilst Andy and John unload the concrete saw and park up the Unimog
(http://a.imageshack.us/img594/8492/200912140050.jpg) (http://img594.imageshack.us/i/200912140050.jpg/)
Everyone mucks in laying the concrete, even Flatcat!
(http://a.imageshack.us/img819/9149/200912140051.jpg) (http://img819.imageshack.us/i/200912140051.jpg/)
The laying of the concrete is finished just in time, as Lizzie arrives with some freshly baked croissants - and there's enough for everyone!
(http://a.imageshack.us/img831/1452/200912140052.jpg) (http://img831.imageshack.us/i/200912140052.jpg/)

With the concrete dry, Andy fires up the concrete saw, and makes the rough edges smooth, and also cuts out holes for the equipment to fit into
(http://a.imageshack.us/img840/7523/200912140053.jpg) (http://img840.imageshack.us/i/200912140053.jpg/)
The whole area is then jetwashed to remove settled dust
(http://a.imageshack.us/img840/4489/200912140054.jpg) (http://img840.imageshack.us/i/200912140054.jpg/)
Just in time as the last load of materials arrives; the petrol station
(http://a.imageshack.us/img844/671/200912140074.jpg) (http://img844.imageshack.us/i/200912140074.jpg/)
The sections are carefully lowered in, and bolted together, completing the job
(http://a.imageshack.us/img413/5990/200912140055.jpg) (http://img413.imageshack.us/i/200912140055.jpg/)

The job is at last complete, and a thirsty boat is being refulled

Hope you enjoyed my story

I did, indeed, enjoy the story, flatcat. The twists and turns in it are amazing and wonderfully entertaining both in keeping the interest going (and growing!), humour, incident and detail. Right to the finish I wasn't sure what the end result was going to be and I was racking my brains as to how you'd done that concrete base until I realised that it was part of the filling station set (which I have!). The cast listing at the end was the final touch - a superb idea, although it does mean I have to go back and spot the characters I didn't recognise such as the lost couple, although I guess you're following the current TV practice of giving a mention to everyone who has contributed to the production. (I sometimes wonder if there will appear something like the following on TV credits eventually - Man just out of shot holding a newspaper - Fred Jones. And as the credits are so small and go by so fast you can't read them anyway.) Really excellent:

:wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow:
BTW, if Lizzie keeps feeding your builders so well you'll have to get some fat bodies for them all.

I'm glad you liked it, and I had a lot of fun making it. Yes I thought the cast list at the end would be a good idea, and make you go back to find characters that you didn't spot as you say ;)
Lizzie is very good at cooking, as well as car mechanics - a very useful lady to have around! :D

Very nice story. I liked the cast listing at the end, that was a good idea.
And I liked what you did with the sunken ambulance and just showing the bottom part.

I was originally going to cut the part with the ambulance, but I'm glad I didn't :)
I've already planned out the next one, but I haven't shot any of it yet
Damo :)

a real joy Damo. Great work and can't wait for the next one.
All the details were nicely done and the cast list indeed a great feature.
I LOLed at flatcat swimming with the hook around its tail.
Thanks for sharing!
