I bought following pirate ship and I am waiting for it now to arrive.
I'd like to restore it and get all the missing parts.
Any help from you guys would be appreciated very much!
(http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/1557/55014905.th.jpg) (http://img535.imageshack.us/i/55014905.jpg/)
I will post better pictures from the moment I have it in my possession.
Thank you in advance.

Hi Lars,
if this is a picture of what you bought it doesn't seem to be missing anything!
Once you get your hands on it, any missing parts can be ordered direct from Playmobil, I did one myself in the UK a couple of years ago, and you should have no trouble in Belgium with parts availability.
-
I think to it should be quite complete...
Things I believe are missing:
- the bowsprit
- the second large sail
- some of the klickies
- some smaller accessoires
There are also some things I find odd about the crew... For example the green pirate at the back of the ship has grey hair. When I search for the 3053 on PlaymoDB it sais this one should have black hair. And some other klickies I couldn't find at all in the DB.
But maybe I should wait until I have it in my hands... I'm so impatient!!!
-
I can send you plans showing all the parts and part numbers if you need them. Sned me your email address by Private Message.

Here is the crew of the original 3750
(http://img31.imagefra.me/img/img31/2/7/21/baldthar/f_DSC00526m_87a7aea.jpg) (http://imagefra.me/)
There is also another version of the 3750 that has completely different figures...
-
@ playmofire : that would be great! I sent you a PM...
@ Wolf Knight : thank you for the picture. I believe the crew that comes with my model is from the 3053 (though not complete). Or is there another set of klickies for the 3750?
Does somebody know in which countries the 3750 and in which the 3053 was issued?
-
From looking at a couple of the klickies included it does look as if you have the V2 with the different crew
-
I have a spare bowsprit and sail but someone has spilt tea on the sail which I can't clean off and so probably isn't much use to you :-\
-
hello larryman,
some info - thanks to axel hennel :wow:- about the 3750/3053.
3750 version 1: 1990/91 - 1992/93, europe
3750 version 2: 1992/93 - 1997, europe
3750 version 3: 1997 - 1999, europe, different crew
3053 version 1: 1990, usa (same crew as 3750 v1 and v2)
3053 version 2: 1997, usa /different crew, same as 3750 v3)
i also have some pictures usa v2 and euro v3.
i decided to mix them together in the same ship - a 3750 v2.
hope i could help.
-
@ flatcat : thanks for your offer. I sent you a PM
@ cachalote : your info is very useful indeed. But is there a way to see which version the ship is (if it comes without the crew)?
-
no, as far as i know all versions are identical, only the crew changes. :)
-
There are some small differences should you get the parts with the ship.
The flags are different early flags are flat plastic on V1 and wavy plastic on V2's.
Also early V1s came with the painted gold plastic lanterns, V2's have gold plastic ones.
When ever I get any 3550 / 3750's I take the ship apart and remove the weight in the bottom, I have offten found coins, weapons, cuffs and other items trapped under the weight.
-
ah, ah, the possibility of a hidden treasure - a very good idea sir gareth. ;)
unfortunately i got my 3750 bnib - no hidden treasure for me. :'(
i suddenly remembered one of hergé/tintin albums - le secret de la licorne - where the inside of a mast kept secret an encrypted message indicating the place where a treasure was hidden.
it still is one of my favourite books, together with "le trésor de rackam le rouge". ;D
-
Lars, check out this eBay auction #160398239611 for the accessory Pirate ship sail set #7614. This may help replace a couple of sails if you are missing some.
-
sir gareth is totally right about the small difference in the flags and "golden" elements (not only the lamps but also the megaphone, the telescope, the sabre swords and the spoon). :yup:
i feel so ashamed to let a "knight" be the one to remember this instead of a "pirate"... :-[
i have 2 extra images of the 3750/3053 where you can see the 2 different flags. :)
-
@ Sir Gareth: I'm taking it apart when I have it, so I'll look for the hidden treasure... ;)
@ Bill Blackhurst: thanks for the link to eBay for the sails. Quite expensive though. Aren't these available through DS and a little cheaper?
@ cachalote: thanks for the images.

This noon I have made a list of all the parts of the set with info I got from the building plan (thanks to playmofire) and PlaymoDB (3750 and 3053). But now I have some other questions...
In PlaymoDB following parts are like this :
Lantern
3750 : 30 02 754 - Lantern on post (brass)
3053 : 30 02 754 - Lantern on post (brass)
Rifle
3750 : 30 06 607 - Rifle, flared muzzle (dark brown)
3053 : 30 06 369 - Musket (dark brown)
Golden Elements
3750 : 30 61 427 - ladle, telescope, megaphone (brass)
3053 : 30 61 056 - ladle, telescope, megaphone (gold)
* Does someone have the part number for the "Lantern on post" in paint gold like the other golden elements?
* Are the 2 rifles the same?
* I'd like to order also the first set of klickies. In the DB the part numbers are marked as unknown. But when I klick on them I find numbers k3382, k3750a, k3750b, k3750c. Can I order them with these numbers? Or are the figures discontinued.
* If someone has a list for the ship, I would love to have it. Like that I can compare if I have everything.
You guys are so great and helpful!!!

Th eonly lantern I've found in "shiny gold" is 30 02 6000 - Lantern on post (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-02-6000), almost certainly discontinued... there haven't been gilded parts like this for many years.
Rifle
3750 : 30 06 607 - Rifle, flared muzzle (dark brown)
3053 : 30 06 369 - Musket (dark brown)
* Are the 2 rifles the same?
They're certainly the same shape, so they should have the same names: I will change them, thanks for the heads-up. However, on closer examination it seems that some of the sets that include 30 06 3690 - Musket (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-06-3690) look like they have black guns, and some others, brown ones. I will investigate.
* I'd like to order also the first set of klickies. In the DB the part numbers are marked as unknown. But when I klick on them I find numbers k3382, k3750a, k3750b, k3750c. Can I order them with these numbers? Or are the figures discontinued.
From the PlaymoDB FAQ (http://playmodb.org/playmodb_faq.html):
What does "unknown part #" mean, or those part numbers starting with "p" or "k"?
There are parts that I'd really like to include in an inventory but I have little chance of finding out the part numbers, most often due to age and rarity (the Victorian klickies are a good example). I create a "fake" part number to anchor the part, and supply a photo if I can. These unofficial numbers cannot be used to make Playmobil part orders, and will only confuse the poor customer service rep.
Hope this helps! I can't imagine these old klickies are still available, but if you do get them, or even find out their part-numbers, let us know!
-
@ Bill Blackhurst: thanks for the link to eBay for the sails. Quite expensive though. Aren't these available through DS and a little cheaper?
They maybe available, but you need to call your supporting DS department & ask. They have been discontinued in the current AddOn accessory booklets that showed them a few years back. If you notice they are not solid plain white like the ones shown on the 3053/3750 box pictures, but can be used as replacements if exact replacements can't be obtained as a last resort. Just remember that money is not a concern when refurbishing a Playmobil project or adding sets to your collection, just ask your wife :hissyfit:, I'm sure she'll agree !

Hi Larryman,
I just wanted to let you know that I have found a source for the original discontinued Pirate ship sail kit & mast rigging kit! The price will shock you, but if you consider they are no longer produced, & these are new old stock, I wouldn't scream too loud ! PM me if you want to know the source email address.
(http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/8599/plm731043017314.png) (http://img685.imageshack.us/i/plm731043017314.png/)
The sail kit 7310 is $40.00 USD.

The rigging set 7311 is $30.00 USD
And if you want an original MIB 3053 Pirate ship they have them too, but they will put you back $425.00 USD each :o!

@ sbblabotw : First of all I want to give you my compliments on the great site you are running! And thank you for clearing out some things. If I happen to find something that isn't on your site, I will certainly let you know.
@ Bill Blackhurst : I will let you know if I need the email address for the sails. But as I'm only starting to collect, I'm not going to spend too much money on my first restoration.

No problem Lars!

Glad to help. That's a continuing request to EVERYBODY, by the way: if you know something I don't, pass it on so I can share with everyone. Enjoy your ship project, Lars!

While I was preparing a parts list for the 3750 ship, I noticed that some parts aren’t on PlaymoDB.
Does somebody know the part numbers of following parts?
- the black hat for pirate greybeard (red shirt, peg leg)
- the black cuffs on the leg of pirate greybeard and the legs of the pirate captain (blue jacket with buttons)
- the black hat with white line of the pirate captain (blue jacket with buttons)
- the blue hat of the pirate lady
- the pink feather on the blue hat of the pirate lady
My ship has finally arrived by the way. I’m picking it up at the post office after work.
I’ll use the image of Wolf Knight to show the pics

Unfortunately i've never kept the instructions as a child....so i do not know the part numbers for these ones... :-[ :-[ :-[
-
If the part numbers you want aren't on the plans I emailed you, then they were never published. In the early days, part numbers for figures and smaller items weren't published (maybe didn't even exist!).
-
On the plans were only the part numbers of the ship parts...
But maybe the klickies clothes are used later on other figures...

But maybe the klickies clothes are used later on other figures...
This is the key to a lot of mysteries like this: keeping an eye out, whenever a new part is discovered in a new set, to see if it was used in something in previous years but without number. 30 00 3850 - Fisherman Pirate (red coat) (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-00-3850) didn't turn up with a number until 3937 - Row Boat Pirate (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=3937) was released in 2000, but when I was drawing up that inventory, I recognised him and added him to 3750. As a double-check, his "number neighbours" 30 00 3860 - Pirate, striped shirt and vest (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-00-3860) and 30 00 3870 - Pirate, red/yellow coat, high boots (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-00-3870) were first produced in 1990 as well - not a guarantee but a good sign. So, can't help you with these parts in particular, but input from eagle-eyed detectives always welcome!

for what klickys you refer to ?from the 1990 3750 http://www.collectobil.com/images/items/3750.jpg or 1997 3750
http://www.capitaineplaymo.fr/box/3750.jpg for the 1990 ship's figures as sbblabotw said the red pirate was realesed again in 2000 as 3937 but with a differend headscarf the blue pirate was previously realesed in 1988 as 3382 check link http://www.collectobil.com/images/items/s3382.jpg the others weren't realesed again from then

Sorry if I was confusing: I'm talking about the klickies in Wolf Knight's picture above. The red-coated pirate is the only klicky with a part number, and I used him as an example to explain why some parts are in the inventory (even if they don't appear on the original instructions) and some aren't. His headscarf doesn't change his part number, so the klicky in 3937 and 3750 are the same.
The fat pirate also appeared in 3382, yes, but that set didn't have instructions showing his part number, so his number is unknown.
I could add the parts Lars is looking for, but they would also have unknown numbers, since they have not been released in any other set with instructions. That would not help him if he wished to order them, so I'll leave them alone for now.

(The fat pirate also appeared in 3382, yes, but that set didn't have instructions showing his part number, so his number is unknown.)
it is not unknown this is one of the most famous playmobil figures!!!!!! :yup: :yup: :yup: :yup:
-
I've contacted DS in Belgium for the part numbers of this pirate
(http://playmodb.org/parts/klickies/k3382.jpg) (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=k3382/)
This is the information I received...
klicky : 30 13 0010
black hat with white line : 30 65 5560 + 30 04 7240
black cuffs (legs) : not found
I tried to send this info on PlamoDB, but I'm not sure if it went through...
-
Thanks Lars, that's wonderful! I'll add them in as soon as I can.
It makes perfect sense that the pirate is 30 13 0010: the "30 13" parts are the fat men, and he is the first, number 001! (The final "0" doesn't count.) I have the red feather set up already - good to have that confirmed. And the hat is unique to those two sets, I think. Could someone please take a good photo of the hat by itself?
-
I'll add them in as soon as I can.
I bow with awe at the mistress of the PlaymoDb. Giorginetto cant help but being in awe at the presence of the stuart of the database. ' At your service'
