Im not sure if this should be here... but I didn't know where else to put it.
I am working on more customs and I have a question:
Does anyone know if camels can fit into hoarse armor.
Specifically the head.
Thanks in advance!
-
Noone knows?
Oh well, guess I'll have to buy one and find out! ;D
-
What horse armour are you talking about - the modern ones or the older ones ???
-
Modern,
It looks like it will fit more to the camels head.

Modern,
It looks like it will fit more to the camels head.
Sorry, I haven't got any modern armour :(
but I have got lots of camels though :-[
-
Thanks anyway!
What about the old armor?
It wouldn't help me with what I am doing,
but now I am curious for curiosites sake! ;D
-
Unfortunately the horse armor doesn't work with the camels. Yes, it will fit over the head, but I tried the new horse armor (which is wider than the old armor) on the old camel (which is narrower than the new camel) and the camel body was still too wide. A camel cataphract is a great idea, but it just won't work using the horse armor.
-
So the heads work, but not the body?
That is good to know! I did not really think the body would work...
Thank you very much!
You guessed exsacly my plan Justindo! ;)
Cataphract Camels will soon be an addition to my Romans, and/or my sisters Egyptians.

Hi
You could do it and it would not be hard. I amy even try it when I get 10 minutes free time . All you will have to do is heat up the cover and open it up and it looks like it will fit. The old and the new ones are about the same.
interesting custom idea :wow:

Hmmm...
Sticking them up is an interesting idea,
But I need to fit the saddle and klicky on there as well, so I will probably just cover the head.
Thank you Rasputin!

Excellent idea all together . By pure chance in the New Zoo thread i was refering to camels and elephants fighting the romans . would be awesome to see such additions from PM , the Romans/ Egyptians lines neww some new sets me reckons !!!

I have already created a war elephant Giorginetto!
It is not the prettyest custom, but I still like it alot! ;D
Here is a pic:

I like that elephant custom, WarriorOfToys. I've toyed with the idea of creating an elephant custom, but decided against it, thinking the results would be disastrous, but seeing yours gives me new hope. Perhaps the same will hold true for the camel cataphracts.
-
I hope they work aswell!
I might try making it look better,
but for now it works for wargaming so I am happy with it.
-
White a little bit of heating you can make it fit.
-
Fit how? ???
-
Making armor for camels is a really cool idea, WoT! If the horse armor doesn't fit, maybe you can use the technique that Richard called our attention to a few weeks ago in this thread: GOOD and EASY HOW-TO (http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=4168.msg51911#msg51911). That plastic sheet material looks like it could possibly be made into armor for your camels and maybe elephants, too!
-
Yes, I had read that post before... but it never crossed my mind for this.
Thank you Indiana! :)
First I will see how the hoarse armor fits then if I don't like it I could try using that plastic!
Sorry Peetje...
I understand what you mean now, I though you were talking about the elephant!
Yes heat treatment is also a good idea that I may wish to try.
Thank you all so much for the wonderful ideas!
When I finally buy some camels I will try out these ideas and let you all know how things are going.
Then you can all see my Cataphract Camels when I find the best way to make the armor fit.
Thanks again!
