Title: An evening with Sherlock Holmes
Post by: playmovictorian on February 06, 2010, 10:58:31
In keeping with the release of the Sherlock Holmes   movie which I really recommend for its great atmosphere and story true to Conan Doyle's novels...

Here is an  Evening with Sherlock Holmes

In the magnificent Ball Room filled with Bouquets of Flowers, the Pianist is playing Waltzes, Elegant Ladies and Distinguished Gentlemen have only one topic on their minds tonight : the most famous Detective of All Times is there, before their very eyes, Sherlock Holmes himself !!!

Brass Chandelliers are shining, the Silver is polished, and look at that Feast : Champagne on Ice, Caviar, Oysters, Cheese Platter, Studded Ham, Orange Pate and those delicious Cakes...

If Sherlock is enjoying the attention, he still cannot take his eyes away from the splendid Buffet...the Cooks have really excelled themselves tonight !!!

Amongst the happy notes from the Piano, conversations and laughters will certainly not stopped until the night is gone...one stylish Victorian Party indeed !!!

What a wonderful banquet and setup Karim! I'm always astonished at the realism of the food items you have, and the details you put into your works.

I'm a great fan of Sherlock Holmes, and listen to the stories frequently as audio books. I haven't seen the film yet, but I think I'll go along on my next day off next week.

Hi Karim,

Where do you find the time for such splendid Dioramas. They are great and all the special details you create for them really makes them so unique.

I have not seen this video for Sherlock so I will look out for it . OR are you saying the "movie" is the one in theaters and not the ones Karim puts his pictures to with music ?

we went to see this movie a month ago and it was quite exciting.

Thanks for sharing

Your Victorian diorama has so much detail and that food looks so delicious.  I like your Sherlock Holmes klicky too!  ;D

Thank you so much dear Friends  :*) :**:

It is so good to be back  :yippee:

Just like Martin, I have been a fan of Sherlock Holmes for ever and a day and for those of you who will visit London this year, I recommend a meal at the wonderful Sherlock Holmes Pub on Northumberland St ( Tel: 020 7930 2644 ) is a gem of a Pub and a living museum to Conan Doyle's famous Detective...

The food is delicious and their collection of beers is second to none  :**:

Following the movie, I have ordered the Sherlock Holmes collection starring Jeremy Brett who is my favorite TV Sherlock on Amazon.com for a very reasonable price and dozens of investigations that are going to keep me thrilled for weeks  :munch:

Hi Karin

Looks & sounds like a great pub but do all its patrons go under the observation microscope to dig out skeletons in ones closets  :lens:

Good to see you back Karim and with another excellent diorama! I am also a great Sherlock Holmes fan and had been ambivalent about the new movie since I consider Jeremy Brett the best Holmes, but everyone's comments regarding the movie has softened my opinion.

Bonjour Gepetto

I agree with you on the fact that no one even get close to Jeremy Brett when it comes to Sherlock Holmes and the movie aims to please the 2010 audiences hence special effects...

I watched the first investigation of J. Brett this afternoon with great delight and a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon  :munch:
