So I am just sitting here at the computer wasting time ::) and looking for something interesting in the Playmo world while we all wait for more news about this year's new releases (we'll probably have to wait until February after the Nurnberg Toy Fair.) Anyway, I remembered Sven/macnavi who is an old Playmo friend to many of us here, though not actually a Playmofriend per se, and started to wonder what he is up to. Here is a link to his website, also available from the Playmofriends links page: Svencentral. (http://www.svencentral.com/index.html) If you haven't seen his stuff before, I recommend it very highly.
Once there, be sure to watch his several EXCELLENT Playmobil stop motion films (http://www.svencentral.com/movies/index.html)and check out his new hobby of building 1:87 scale model train scenes (http://www.svencentral.com/modelling/index.html) from scratch which is very very cool (even if it isn't Playmobil-related :-[.) If you look at his model building blog posts there is a very interesting technique there called "glueprinting" (http://web.mac.com/macnavi/Marienbad/Techniques.html) which seems to be a nifty way to make textured surfaces on model buildings, roads, etc. (the method may be well-known to other folks here, but it's the first that I've heard of it.)
So, if you're looking for a satisfying way to waste time, take a visit to Sven's place - I promise you will enjoy it! :yup:

Hi Indianna
I think "Bloody Snow" is one of my all time favorites, the Viking series is great too but that western really is what really got me into the western theme.
Thanks for the reminder
Rasputin "The Mad Monk"

Just when you thought that cowboy was untouchable ...
great ending

I saw Bloody Snow a long time ago and was blown away (no pun intended) by it. I love the shifts in the music and the way the people really fly when they get blasted. Definitely one of the coolest stopmo vids I've ever seen.

All of Sven's films are great, but "Bloody Snow" is especially good - the exciting music, the fast-paced editing, the clever special effects that have klickys flying across the room, the dark humor - everything comes together so well. :)

I'm bored with the weather and not being able to get out and about much, and the dull, dark days.
I'm frustrated with Playmobil because the present situation doesn't allow me to do as much with it as I would like - stuff in store, lack of space, dull weather for photography - but I was pleased with the snowplough custom and photos and the latest fire customs, which lifts the frustration a bit.
And I've got the 4821 fire engine ordered at the local toyshop for next month, so that's something to look forward to.
So I'll revisit Sven's site to help the time pass quicker.

somehow the days seem to short
maybe I shouldn't spend so much time behind my computer :-[
anyway

No bored here at all, the weather in Eugene is variable but today is dry and sunny, and a couple of days ago I had a gorgeous 15 mile bicycle ride around town and alongside the Willamette River.
There are several sets I want to pick up that are currently available (the Dinos and a couple of churches to name a few) but am holding back for lack of space. In 2-3 weeks our shipping will arrive with the bulk of my Playmobil, plus a few other odds and ends  and then we'll see how we can survive with boxes piled high round the apartment.
Meantime I have two ongoing photo stories to work on, both along and with Tim across town, and quite a lot of Playmo to organise and re-organise that I seem to have acquired in the last five weeks. :-[

Hello, Anne ...
Sven has posted my favorite Playmobil brochure of all time.
On his great website, Sven has posted the 1977 Medieval Town catalogue!
Click HERE (http://www.svencentral.com/playmobil/index.html), then click on "brochures" ... :yippee:
The line drawings are wonderful!
Thanks, Anne, for suggesting a fun way to avoid getting bored ... ;D
However, like Michael, I have so much to do that I wish that the days were longer ... ;)
All the best from the warm and sunny Virgin Islands,
Richard

Oh, to have a time machine to go back to acquire those old retired sets :P! We wouldn't get bored if we did :yippee:!
