Title: 50 best Christmas vgifts for children
Post by: playmofire on December 05, 2009, 09:17:17
Last Saturday (November 28th) The Independent newspaper had the 50 best gifts for children, with Playmobil being No. 2.  They only mentioned the Egyptian and the vet ranges in a way suggesting that maybe they were the only two ranges available ("choose from either the Egyptian range with its sphinx and glow-in-the-dark skeleton, or the Vets with the operating theatre and animal clinic.") but did say prices ranged from £2 and gave the Playmobil UK website address.

That's very interesting and good to hear  :)

The Egyptians and Vets clinic sets seem to have been very popular this year, especially the vets operating theatre which seems to be popping up in retailers near enough everywhere I go!

Their popularity is probably due to not many other manufacturers making toys of these themes that I have seen  :hmm:

"IMAGINATION

Playmobil

A perennial favourite, this year there are two new ranges, which should suit both genders. Choose from either the Egyptian range with its sphinx and glow-in-the-dark skeleton, or theVets (sic) with the operating theatre and animal clinic. Playmobil isn't cheap but the children do seem to come back to it again and again.

I like the last line! I didn't realise the Egyptian skeleton glows in the dark.

I thought GoGo Hamsters were supposed to be the big thing this year, so it's nice to see Playmobil at #2 and the Hamsters at a lowly #8.
