I see a lot of last years stuff, lowered in price! Not a lot of stuff is interesting to me. I see a train hangar, but It looks a bit plain to me, must wait for better pictures!
-
This is what excites me the most: after searching everywhere since 1998, when they were first let loose, my African natives finally found a .... WOMAN !!!
It's only natural she needs to be accompanied by two bodyguards !
thanks to Spatz for the picture
-
Wow :o These natives are wonderful!
-
Thanks, Andi, for the pictures.
The extension to the fire station obviously interests me, although I see the 4043 take along construction building as a better option if the parts are available from DS and not too expensive as it is a complete building and has clips for storing equipment. What surprises me is that there don't seem to be any Add-on figures in the fire theme and the Special firefighter which came in late last year disappeared very quickly from the shops over here and hasn't appeared since.
-
I like the African Add-Ons pictured above! Does anyone know about the klickies to the right of the Egyptians? I can't quite make them out.
-
Do you mean to the right of the Egyptian soldiers? That would be a set of tombrobbers (with chief).
-
Thanks for the link! I'm going to be interested in the fire station addition and some of the animal editions.
-
thanks for the news andi. :yup:
laszlo :wow: at playclicks also has all the new images available to everyone - http://www.playclicks.com/playforos/index.php?topic=25537.0
nothing new on the pirates corner though... :'(
-
but the sea-plane makes a come-back
-
... and everyone that buys more than 35 euros gets a gift - a special ghost-pirate figure and game. :yup:
-
Thanks for the pix and link cachalote, love those flamingos!
Now Richard can get a real seaplane and not have to make them up!
Gepetto
-
These are the things I want :)
-
Can't see anything.
-
I get a message that the file may be damaged or corrupted.
-
Now Richard can get a real seaplane and not have to make them up!
Gepetto
Like the one in the photo from my old Playmoroom that I've attached, Gepetto? ... :klickywink:
Sorry about my being a bit of a "smart ass," Gepetto ... :-[
I just couldn't resist ...
And, actually, I'm thrilled that Playmobil has brought back their "float plane." I've always regretted not buying a couple more when I had the chance.
All the best,
Richard

I just got a new UK DS Catalogue.
On page 18 there's the 7377 Pirate Dungeon, and it's labelled as NEW. They call it Click System, and don't highlight the fact that it's not compatile with the 7376 Prison Fortress, also labelled as NEW, right underneath it on the same page.
Nothing else of much interest, and no sign of those neat african guys yet.

Is it really a woman? I can't tell, but the klicky looks male to me.

Hello, Martin ...
The DS catalog from Playmobil USA does show that 7377 is Steck System, but does not indicate whether 7376 is Steck or System-X. The Playmobil USA website does not say whether or not either one is Steck or System-X. I guess that the customer is just supposed to know.
Today I received a 3450 Large Castle still in its box (but not mint), first released in 1977. Full review in the fullness of time.
... snip ...
So, at what point between 1977 and today did Playmobil decide that children no longer wanted the option of designing their own castles and houses, and were content to accept what they were given, and why?
Maybe there is some hope, Martin. Even with the seemingly careless attention Playmobil seems to have given to properly indicating whether or not a set is Steck or System-X, they devoted pages 14-15 of the Playmobil USA DS catalog to "Castle Expansion" with System-X. Go figure.
It is probably safe to say that Geobra is somewhat unpredictable and erratic. Perhaps the best example of Geobra's inconsistent behavior is the mercurial "logic" of their numbering system.
Rather than continuing the frustration of trying to understand why Playmobil does what they do, maybe we should accept the fact that Geobra is JPN (Just Plain Nuts). Of course there might be a few people that would say that we may also be JPN ...
All the best,
Richard

Enjoy

Ps: if you have some wishes about more tell me...............

They don't havwe the men fetching the heavy water jar back and forth!
Definitely going to be buying those natives in numbers. Shame they have used male heads with warpaint though, I'd prefer unpainted.
-
Are we even sure that is a female? Most of the women figures have a bust. This figure appears not to have one.

Hmm. Good point, now that I look at it closer. :hmm:

Bugger :'(
-
I think the central figure is a woman, and does have a bust - it's just the poor lighting that disguises it.
1) carrying a water jar, traditional woman's work
2) has upper body covering where a bust would be, unlike the two flanking figures
3) no face paint
4) the arms look curved
Individually not conclusive, but I think the points stack up.
-
I think it is defenitely a woman: look at the "hips" marked in the pic. This is defenitely the "moderate" sligtly curved edge of the modern female body; the male ones do have a more a square-cut opening for moving the legs in sitting position.
-
Hi,
i think they have bust do you see the light reflection ??
I see it !
Look !!

Too bad Timotheos isn't around, Andi. I think he was a self-proclaimed "expert" in these matters ...
(However, I think that you may be correct.)
All the best,
Richard

mmm ... Ithink this must be the first time we have been allowed to stare at a woman's breasts on this site for this long
Typical males ... 8}

mmm ... I think this must be the first time we have been allowed to stare at a woman's breasts on this site for this long
Hmmm ... Well then, let's all hope that it's really a woman that we've all been staring at ...
Edit: Corrected an awkward sentence ... :-[
-
I hope it is indeed a woman as I need a queen for my Zulus.
Martin, I agree that I wish the faces were left unpainted.

For those of you who live in the States, please read the following:
Hello, Timmy ...
This is another one of those times that you are very fortunate that you live in the United States!
All you have to do is go to your local supermarket and visit the laundry aisle ...
Look for Bar keepers Friend (powder) (http://www.barkeepersfriend.com/).
see attachment
After you've made your purchase, and have taken your magic powder home, take your magic powder and your most challenging Klicky into the kitchen.
1. Put a little Bar Keepers Friend powder in the kitchen sink. Dampen your finger (drier is better than wetter).
2. Gently touch the little pile of powder with your damp finger.
3. Look at your finger. A small amount of powder should now be on the part of your finger that the police use to take your fingerprints ... ;)
4. Gently rub the marking on the Klicky that you want to remove.
5. Be surprised and amazed at how easily the unwanted markings disappear.
NOTE: I can't stress the word "GENTLY" enough! It doesn't take very much pressure to remove the markings! (However, probably the only damage that you can do, by NOT being gentle, is to make your finger a little red.)
Have fun and all the best,
Richard
Timmy tried it:
I now have testimony.
Thanks again Richard! "Bar Keeper's Friends" ($1.67 from Target) really does let the paint rub off on your finger. I tried using a rag first, but that took forever. You almost have to apply direct finger. The stuff is pretty gentle on the hands, though. It made a hangnail burn, but after a washing, my skin wasn't dry, tender, or anything.
I think it is some sort of baking soda mix, so it is less harsh than comet or anything like what I expected.
-Tim

Told ya! ... ;)

Hmmm ... (Does NOT follow directions!) ... Why am I not surprised? ...
All the best,

BTW ... Sylvia found "Barkeepers Friend" in the UK:
Thanks for the tip! It sounds like a wonder-cleaner. :)9
It's available from UK sellers on Amazon's marketplace, but the P&P they add to the price makes it quite expensive. :-\
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B000TAW5TA/ref=dp_olp_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1215340473&sr=1-1
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B0010VUWS8/ref=dp_olp_2
It's also available from Robert Dyas (http://www.robertdyas.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=91&catalogId=311&productId=40601).
We don't have that shop this far north but other members in the UK might live near to one of their branches.
Here's their storefinder (http://www.multimap.com/clients/places.cgi?client=rdyas) page. :)

Wonderful commercial!
They should give you some money on that!
