RhBDirk from klickywelt discovered that a playmobil magazine is being published in germany and will come out in may 9.
there's a german article (will someone please translate it) at http://kress.de/cont/story.php?id=127733.
and also a small presentation at the blue ocean ag site - the owners.
100.000 magazines are going to be published quarterly (every 3 months) with 36 color pages.
maybe this is not that great news ... but it seems to be the only one available in the meantime. :hmm:
i bet playmobil is announcing a new and big royal navy ship soon. :yup:
together with big changes in their design department...
until then, this is what we have to survive this cold spring. :-[

"Blue Ocean starts 'Playmobil Magazine'
On May 9th, 2009 the Blue Ocean Enterteinment AG brings the 'Playmobil Magazine' to the kiosks, a booklet about the well-known toy figures. 100,000 copies counts the first edition, on its cover a Playmobil figure is attached. Price of the booklet is 3.95 EUR once, all other editions are delivered without figure and cost only 2.95 EUR. The booklet should be published quartely and addresses childs aged between four and seven years. The Stuttgart publisher is specialized on child titles: Blue Ocean already publishes magazines like 'Princess Lillifee' and 'Frag doch mal die Maus' [Ask the mouse]."

Is there any word of a English version for us non German speaking folks? I would gladly subscribe to such a magazine.

Considering it's running 'only' a 100.000 copies - I doubt there will be a non-German issue :'(
nor that it will be available outside Germany booo hooo

I'm seriously bummed that we likely won't see an English version of it here in the States. Thankfully, I have family in Germany that will be able to send the German version! Wonder why they won't distribute here? I'd pay for a subscription! :'(

Perhaps this is just a trial run to see if it's worth their while. If it is successful, perhaps they will publish more issues with a larger circulation. ???

In that case I hope all of our German Playmofriends will buy up the 100,000 copies quickly! :)
