The referee from set 4717 are the only soccer-legged klickies that can sit and bend.

???

Don't tell me you ordered hundreds to fill dozents of buses with them before ever having a single soccer player in your own hands?!

They do not bend do to the fact that they have that mechanism for kicking the ball . i guess you could take them apart and fit regular legs to them but i have never tried this, just a thought

He bends just like all the other "normal" Playmo-figures :)

No, you cannot do that, because the body of the soccer-klickies is shorter. They need more space for the kicking mechanism.
The goalkeepers are completely stiff, the referees can move like ordinary klickies...

Could you tell me the number of this special, or provide a link?

I do not recall any Rugby player produced by Playmobil.

...I am not sure though, Martin, if you are asking explicitely for a rugby (not american football) player?!

I was asking Mike about the Rubgy player that he told cachalote was freely available on eBay.

They are completely different sports, Mike, in the same way that Cricket and Baseball are completely different sports, though both involve a batter, a ball, innings, batters getting out, and running.

There are actually two different varieties of Rugby, League and Union, though this would not be evident just by looking at a player in kit.

Plus rugby players are tougher than American footballers. They don't wear all that elaborate padding despite it being a high-contact sport. :P
The balls are kinda similar in shape though.

Isn't Australian football kind of a mix of the two? No protection but played more like American football? Do they even play Australian football anymore?
